Last month, after ABC News reported that former Halliburton/KBR employee Jamie Leigh Jones had been gang-raped by her co-workers while working in Baghdad, multiple lawmakers -- including Rep. Ted Poe (R-TX), Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY) and Sen. Bill Nelson (D-FL) -- pressed the Bush administration to reveal the state of the case and to explain how an earlier investigation "had not resulted in any prosecution."

The Bush administration has been anything but cooperative. Both the State and Justice departments refused to give Poe "answers on the status" of the investigation. The DoJ "refused to send a representative" to a Congressional hearing last month, and the State, Defense and Justice departments all missed Nelson's deadline for answering questions.

Now, the Inspector General of the Department of Defense has written to Nelson and other lawmakers, saying that his agency will not investigate the allegations:

In letters to lawmakers, DoD Inspector General Claude Kicklighter said that because the Justice Department still considers the investigation into Jones' case open, there is no need for him to look into the matter.

"[T]he U.S. Justice Department has issued a statement that they are investigating the allegations," wrote Kicklighter's office to Sen. Bill Nelson, D-Fla., who had requested he look into the matter. "No further investigation by this agency into the allegations made by [Jones] is warranted."

Though Kicklighter is refusing to investigate Jones' allegations, he did say he would explore 'whether and why' a U.S. Army doctor handed to KBR security officials the results" of Jones' "rape kit," which then disappeared. Nelson's office told ABC that the senator is "not satisfied" with Kicklighter's letter.

Nelson is right to be disappointed, especially since Jones' assault may not be "an isolated case."

Former Halliburton/KBR employees have described an atmosphere of "rampant sexual harassment." Poe has also confirmed that his office has heard from multiple other women who were victims of sexual assault while working for KBR in Iraq.

Why would the bush administration refuse to investigate this horrible crime? It makes no sense. Oh yea KBR was part of Halliburton at the type of the incident; and Halliburton has direct ties to the VP (Dick). These people are filthy. Shame on all those who ever voted for these swine. And you call yourselves Christians. Where is the outrage by the right over this despicable crime? God will not forgive your complacency.

That should be the meme for this story.

Senator, The Bush administration has come out as Pro Rape. If you were elected president, what would you to do prevent the consistent rape of women serving our country?

Striking similarities to the Saudi rape case

You know - the one where the Saudi legal system sentenced a 18-year old girl to 200 lashes for being raped by a gang of men? Bush thought it wasn't too big of a deal (Reuters)

"This is a part of a judicial procedure overseas in the court of a sovereign country," said State Department spokesman Sean McCormack when asked to comment on the case."

The ties between the Saudis, Bush, Cheney and Halliburton are legion. Bush Advisers Cashed in on Saudi Gravy Train.

This story has been repeated innumerable times in Iraq - rape, murder and torture - something that Bush, his cronies, and their Saudi friends have no problem with at all.

If Bush could, he'd mimic the Saudis on other issues as well - such as the recent imprisonment of Saudi blogger Fouad al-Farhan for exposing the corruption of the Saudi Royals.

Note To Self...

Note to self...remind daughters not to place themselves in any situation under the jurisdiction of the military, while said military is under Republican civilian rule...

...remind her that she will be considered chattel, and that her simple presence within that jurisdiction defines her as "a slut asking for it", and will thus be afforded all the dignity and humane treatment of a "slut asking for it".

What a curious thing to type, eh? Did I just imagine the last hundred years of society progressing away from this kind of thing, was that all just a nice dream? This IS 2008, right?

Let's face it, folks; we're dealing with CRIMINALS ,here, from the top on down, so what do you expect, moral outrage, candor, prompt cooperation, etc.? The crime spree began on Jan. 20th, 2001 after bush was fraudulently installed as dictator, and has continued unabated since. In a sane world, these crooks would be rotting in jail for life, but this is not a sane world any more, is it?

Why Aren't Bush's Daughters Serving In Iraq? Thousands of Women Soldiers Are!
Posted by: colleenwhalen on Jan 9, 2008 11:28 AM

Why aren't the Bush daughters serving in the military? I'm a woman and don't think gender is an excuse to evade military service. If Bush's daughters went to war and were raped by contractors, I wonder if the investigation would be stonewalled.

If a woman is raped in the USA, there is a strong possiblity the police will not investigate the case and even harrass the rape survivor. I was sexually assaulted in Wash. D.C. and the cops treated me like I was a hooker. They refused to even file an incident report. I hired a lawyer and after one year, the cops finally admitted a crime occured.

What is happening in Iraq with female soldiers and civilian contractors being sexually harrasssed is simply mirroring what is happening in our own country.

What makes the whole situation worse is that the woman who was sexually assaulted while working as a contractor in Iraq has now been outed with her name, photo published world wide. I'll bet that Fox News and Rush Lumbaugh will enact a character assassination smear campaign against her.

Her life is going to be destroyed and I doubt that the men who raped her will ever even be questioned - the contractor will get off scott free. All the evidence of her rape has been conveniently destroyed, so it is now just her word against her opponents.

Now that she has been publicly identified, she will probably suffer death threats and Bill O'Reilly will go on the air and slam her as a crackpot publicity hound - O'Reilly got away with assaulting a campaign aide for Obama and he gets a free ride no matter how outrageous his behavior.

I don't care what your political affiliation is - this is horrible! This is a disgrace! What this woman has been put through and no one is doing anything about it - How barbaric! This is like an emotional stoning - to disregard what happened and just bury it in paperwork....this is an outrage! There needs to be arrests! It makes me sick that the rape kit disappeared. It has less to do with Haliburton than it does the individuals responsible. They need to find someway to come up with enough evidence to arrest these guys. I'm glad she has the strength to pursue this.

A Bunch of Fascist Thugs

I admire this young woman for having the courage to stand up against the fascist thugs that run this country. What happened is a perfect example of the trickle-down theory. The people at the top (Bush&Co)are completely lawless and getting totally away with it, so the creeps right on down the line figure they can too. Apparently they are right.

This includes their fundamentalist Christian supporters. (I wonder if those folks now blame themselves, instead of George, for their status as victims?) That anybody believes these guys would support an investigation of a gang-rape by their favorite group of war profiteers is beyond my comprehension! This is the greatest collection of clever and powerful psychopaths, sociopaths, and outright con-men ever assembled in one place at one time--in our White House.

IF HE/SHE doesn't This is a lost country.

"No Country for Old men", women, children. It is evil!

Has anybody compiled the, evidently massive stack of litigations and suits and alleged crimes within the US juridictions that have been the result of the whole Bush Iraq debacle?

The list seems to be so huge that I don't believe the American people have really been given an overview that will help them understand the magnitude of failures and deceptions that have gone on as a direct result of this nations poor poor management by the executive branch. Yet somehow no one seems to be able to address impeachment.

Any corporation in the world would have the whole of the Bush Administartion in jail by now if they (which they are a party to)
handled their corporation the way this nation is being run. This whole Administration stinks of skullduggary.

But the real question is "what is being done about it?"

And too "How can We the People" really repair all the damage done and return our nation into some semblance or truth and justic?

The Bush Administration wouldn't be too concerned with rape of an American female in Iraq, since the family members get away with murder in their front yard and the media is afraid to even report it.

Do your own research, especially of Marvin Bush, George's youngest brother. Until 2000, he was the director in a company called Securacom, which was the security company for the World Trade Center, Dulles Airport and United Airlines. Isn't that a strange coincidence? Sounds like 9/11? Then his maid/family caretaker, Bertha Champagne was 'mysteriously' killed in his front yard in 2003. Did you know about that? Well, if you didn't, you should ask yourself why you didn't hear of it. The Washington Post sat on the report for a week before burying the small article in their newspaper. Search on Bertha Champagne. Know the facts, inform others.

Why is the media afraid to report it? Because during the 9/11 era 4 media companies including the National Enquirer and ABC News were hit with Anthrax, which was sent through the mail. It is important to do your own research. Google it, be informed while you still can be. Remember the National Enquirer printing that very unflattering picture of a falling-down-drunk Jenna Bush. A man named Bob Stevens at the National Enquirer died after inhaling the anthrax they received. The National Enquirer had to close its office building and move all its employees out of the office for over a year. Bob's wife has sued not 'the terrorists' but the U.S. government, because that's where the Anthrax came from. The anthrax was traced as U.S. government manufactured and had 'gone missing'. So ask yourself, "Who is in the weapons of mass destruction business?" The Bush's get away with knocking off and 'knocking up' anyone they want. George was also 'sued' for raping a black woman named Margie Schoedinger, who mysteriously was killed by a gunshot wound before he was required to respond to the lawsuit. That would be embarrassing as president, to be charged with rape, wouldn't it? Of course, that was ruled a suicide. Do you really think a rapist would be concerned about the Haliburton rape? Be informed and tell others. America was built on a legal system based on free speech and being able to discover the facts. These people hide behind secrecy. They love secrecy. Why? Because they and their deeds are evil. So ironic it was the right-wing Christians who put these people in power. Remember there were 4 planes headed to attack in 9/11. Three completed their mission. The 4th was an uncompleted mission. 9/11 was not carried out that day...ask yourself, did Arab terrorists call Rudy Giuliani and tell him the World Trade Center was about to collapse? Google it. He knew and was informed by his 'insider buddies' before the towers came down. Ask yourself, how would he have known, by his own admission, what no one could have known? And why aren't the current candidates discussing any of this? Why are they hiding it? They are the most highly informed of the public besides the news media. Are they afraid of receiving Anthrax in the mail too?
