Is the GOP Ready to Nominate a Mob-Connected Man for the Presidency?

Giuliani's problems go well beyond his immediate associates-- criminals and ne'er-do-wells like best buddy/Mafia bagman Bernie Kerik, South Carolina cocaine dealer Tom Ravenel, or an assortment of monstrosities in his inner circle from child molesting priest Alan Placa to countless unscrupulous money men and paid off shills working to rig the election for Giuliani, like Paul Singer, the guy who has been bankrolling the attempt to steal California's electoral votes and the one fireman willing-- for cash-- to dispute Rudy's shameful real 9/11 record.

Today's Chicago Tribune has been digging where Republicans feared someone was bound to go eventually: Giuliani's multimillion dollar, very shady business connections. And "each revelation raises new questions for the first major presidential candidate in memory to build a multimillion-dollar business on the foundation of his time in elected office, and not the other way around."

Giuliani has managed to hide most of his mobster connections-- but not all. He hides behind "confidentiality agreements" and, basically, says that the crooks he's dealing with are entitled to their privacy. "Questioned during a campaign appearance Tuesday in Chicago, Giuliani said that, 'all of Giuliani Partners' clients, maybe with one or two exceptions, I'm not even sure that's right, are public. ... At least the ones that I was familiar with.'"

The Tribune uncovered a direct and personal Giuliani connection to a big time Macao/Hong Kong gambling mobster/billionaire who is in cahoots with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Il. Giuliani was to have been paid an immense amount of money to provide security for the gambling resort in Singapore Kim Jong Il and his criminal partners wanted to put up to help launder drug money and other criminal enterprises they are engaged in. Giuliani went to Singapore for the presentation right after he announced his intention to run for president (of the United States) and hobnobbed with some of Asia's most notorious gangsters.

Giuliani lamely claims he was dealing with the gangster's son, Lawrence Ho, not the elderly mobster himself, Stanley Ho. If Giuliani weren't running for president, this would just be funny. It would have been like saying you were dealing with Michael Corleone not Vito Corleone. The government of Singapore looked at the collection of gangsters and shady characters who were part of the Giuliani team, decided they were a dangerous bunch of mobsters and triad hoodlums, and gave the contract to another company. Republicans look at the same sordid mix-- and want to give Giuliani the White House!

Guiliani's old claim-to-fame was his mob persecutions. However,

many people think that Guiliani himself is 'connected' and the prosecutions were simply a modern way of eliminating competition. Besides his henchman that seem to have a penchant for criminality his law offices, consultancy company, and business life are all highly questionable. He has 'consulted' such cities as diverse as Mexico City and London on terrorism and crime. His company 'consulted' and 'advised' other companies how to do business in the whole privatisation racket (the selling of public property/functions to private companies- often foreign ones including toll-roads, ports, etc.) His lawfirm advises on mergers, privatisations, PPP (public-private-partnerships), and is defending a person implicated in the "DC Madame" scandal. Couple this with a cross-dressing fetish and a host of broken marriages and families and you got the ideal candidate for President! Yep. The only election Guiliani should win is the "most resemblence to Nosferatu" in the US magazine's People's Choice awards.

"Mob-Connected Presidents" are the FASCIST RULE (not the exception)

The "Mob" is a Fascist Corporate Crime ruling class that runs DC and media circus USA along with most public things that matter. Fascism that pretends at “democracy” is a very old story. It is parasite tyranny that makes Cosa Nostra extortion look like amateur night bingo. The shame is, this old Fascist sham could be broken virtually overnight if enough people cared to deal with it.

(but they don’t)

Rudy 9/11 is a petty Corporate Mob capo for the real monopoly power that cooked 9/11 into nonstop “war on terror” to betray human life, dignity and humanity itself.

Over a million innocent lives have paid the cost and it’s only the opening round.

But Americans would rather watch NASCAR, Paris Hilton and Dancing with the Stars than consider the Fascist truth or their own moral cowardice.

New Cronies

It's not Ghouliani's old cronies that worry me; it's the new ones. He's picking up where Dubya will leave off; hiring some of the neocon and christian fundamentalist advisors that have left the White House, and getting money from the same backers. I'm convinced Karl Rove is connected somewhere. Cheney may be helping where can as well. Democrats and progressives who pillary Hillary would do well to contemplate what a Ghouliani presidency would be like.

Given that Hillary has the best odds, I was reading about the Clinton chronology, Dixie mob, questionable dealings, Vince Foster, Sandy burger, on and on the other day. Will be happy to see bush go, but think the Clintons are very much equivalent. I think the least crooked possible candidates for the next election would be Obama v Romney. Any thoughts?

GRIM REALITY
Posted by: willymack on Nov 22, 2007 7:57 AM
Current rating: Not yet rated    [1 = poor; 5 = excellent]
It's an unpalatable and grim reality that the neocon virus doesn't discriminate between Democrats or Republicans, and both parties are infected by the greed that it brings. The signs are there; an unwillingness by either party to firmly commit to an end to the brutalization of Iraq. Wars-even phony ones-are very profitable, and the kickbacks are sweet. The greed is so intense and pervasive that the murder of our military personnel and of Iraqi civilians is deemed AOK as long as the money keeps rolling in. Maybe I'm getting dotty in my old age, but I think the current situation and those in favor of extending or even perpetuating it are pure, unadulterated EVIL. The solution to this horror is to write in the name of a candidate for president that we all know to be ethically and morally upright, on the 2008 ballot. This should be pretty easy as all but one or two have gone over to the Dark Side, big time. It matters not one whit that such bold action defies "tradition". It's time to realize that "business as usual" SUCKS, and that we need to establish some NEW traditions which are favorable to ordinary citizens everywhere.

Corruption By Mob, Campaign Contributions And/Or Both, Take Your Pick

Obama has received several hundred thousand in campaign contributions from Goldman Sachs and Lehman Brothers. These Wall Street guys are the kings of hedge funds and sub-prime meltdowns, having raked in hundreds of millions while American residential property owners fried. Tied in with the mob, hard to say, but he is an OREO who cannot be trusted. Hillary, I don't agree with her politics and she has received millions from the insurance companies and banks for favorable legislation, but I don't think she is tied in with the mob. Reason being the Repubs. had the Clinton's so thoroughly investigated when Bill was President. GW Bush has been able to avoid the investigations so far. His connections are with the Evangelicals. Here, we have to watch the Moonies and others funneling in money to the 700 Club Types as they try to game the political system. Giulliani, of course, is about as crooked and tied in with the mob as they come. Interestingly, even when he was "vigorously prosecuting" them while a NY State Attorney, the mob itself is supposed to have voted "not to take him out." You would think if Giulliani were such a "crime fighter" this certainly would not have been the case. Bottom line, take your pick. Corruption from campaign contributions, corruption from mob connections, and/or both, take your pick.

JulieAnnie: I Used ‘Very Aggressive,’ ‘Intensive’ Interrogation Techniques
Asked about his views of waterboarding this weekend, former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani said that as President he would support the use of “enhanced” interrogation techniques. In an interview with Bloomberg’s Al Hunt, Giuliani claimed such techniques are effective and that he used “intensive questioning” as a federal prosecutor in New York to elicit information from the mafia:

I do know a lot about intensive questioning and intensive questioning techniques. … Now, intensive questioning works. If I didn’t use intensive questioning, there would be a lot of mafia guys running around New York right now and crime would be a lot higher in New York than it is. Intensive question has to be used.

Watch it: Think Progress

While claiming “we should not torture,” Giuliani has been ambiguous in describing the exact interrogation tactics he approved, but he maintains they were “very aggressive”:

“They got ‘em because we arrested them, we got very significant charges on them, and we questioned them for long, long periods of time. With very aggressive techniques.”
“I think putting people under some degree of pressure is done all the time…I did it to get information from the Mafia.”

Giuliani’s vague statements raise questions as to what kind of “techniques” he endorsed as a federal prosecutor, and specifically, how he parses “the line between” torture and intensive questioning. Recently, Giuliani joked about the use of sleep deprivation and said he was “not sure” whether waterboarding constituted torture.

Why not run a Mafia guy in office? We have had a fascist, Nazi, mentally drug/alcohol addict with a messianic complex who robbed the treasuries of two nations for his pals and encouraged mercenaries to murder at random with impunity, and no one did a thing about it so why discriminate against any lowlifes at all?

Maybe next we can elect a prostitute/drug dealer, a pornographer and the CEO of an oil company and an arms dealer, then we would have elected every sort of moron on the planet.

All Italians are Mobsters

I thought Alternet did not tolerate discriminatory or hateful language. I guess there is a double standard. Italians can and are smeared on this site as Soprano style Mafioso on a regular basis. The most tenuous implied slight to Hispanics, blacks, etc. is reviled, but the Sopranos was hailed herein as a great show with nary a whisper of dissent. Yet the Sopranos was an unapologetic long running smear on all Italians as violent, ill-educated, and crude. Giuliani is Italian therefore he is a mobster. Never mind his record of fighting organized crime while District Attorney for New York. I do not like Giuliani or his corrupt associates. If elected he would be as bad as Bush, fomenting fear while promoting militarism and corporate hegemony. Nonetheless, there is no evidence he was ever part of the Mafia. It is sad that in America Italian equals mobster. The relentless depiction of Italians as Mafioso in American popular culture continues unabated.

The Popular Transvestophile -- most use the word PERVERT

Current rating: Not yet rated    [1 = poor; 5 = excellent]
This man is a Crossdresser, which means Transvestophile.

Sound familiar ? Paraphelia is described in the Psych Literature as having inappropriate 'objects of sexual desire'.

Pedophiles use children as objects -- and use them to 'masturbate'
Kleptophiles use stolen objects -- to masturbate.
Pyrophiles start fires -- and masturbate
Zoophiles use animals -- to masturbate.
Necrophiles use dead people -- to masturbate

Transvestophiles use women's clothing to masturbate.

Is there any wonder this guy is a serial divorcee ?

Why in the name of reason is this not being spoken more ? This needs to be blogged everywhere. This guy is a pervert in the eyes of mainstream society. In fact most of the acts reviled by society are PARAPHELIAS !

Here's a list of about 200. Tell me if you relate to these people:
http://scorzone.livejournal.com/5302.html

Transsexuals share this terrible stigma (even though they do not suffer from Paraphelia) and are excluded by name in the Americans with Disabilities Act along with Tranvestophiles, Kleptophiles, Pedophiles and Pyrophyles. Look it up if you don't believe me.

Now here's a guy who might be King -- ineligible for claims under the ADA because he's declared by the Law of the Land to be Perverted.

Transsexuals, most now classed as victims of Endocrine Disrupting Pollution can't even get Employment Protection because of this enormous stigma...

Yet the Christian Right is supporting this guy ?

God help us all.

If we could only find that Mitt is screwing some sheep...... I think Brownhole and Hickabilly would be easier to defeat.

Neocon Mobsters versus Rudy's Mob

Compare the neocons, those ruthless, rabid warmongers and genocidal maniacs to Rudy's gangsters who only provide what everyone wants and uses--drug, prostitution, and the like, all of which in a rational society would be legal. Though Rudy is about last person on earth I'd want as president, I don't think his venery is anywhere near as terrible as that of the simpleton now in office.
