Can someone, anyone, explain the appeal of sex in public bathroom stalls?

Jurors found state Rep. Bob Allen guilty of soliciting sex after a few hours of deliberation Friday. That verdict sent Allen walking from the courtroom with a damaged career and reputation, WESH 2 News reported.
Details? You want details? Wellllll...otay!
Kavanaugh was the undercover officer who said that Allen walked into his bathroom stall, closed the door and agreed to pay $20 to perform a sex act on the officer.
According to Kavanaugh, when he brought up the possibility of a sex act, he testified that Allen agreed to pay $20, saying, "I wouldn?t argue with that."

Kavanaugh also said that he asked if Allen could "hook him up with $20," and Allen allegedly said, "Sure, I can do that," and suggested going to a more private place.
Like where, a phone booth?

Digg!

Shallow questions require shallow answers

Why do gay men sometimes do gross things in restrooms? Well, perhaps because they are men, who if they had the opportunity would engage in a lot more sexual activity than they actually do. Try to imagine if those same restrooms, designed to be cheap and easy to clean, were singular and invited both genders. The answer may be as simple as this. Perhaps repression (hopefully diminishing in our slowly developing society) has something to do with gay men’s conduct. If there are no other places for gay men to meet (and do the nasty) a place where many men go alone is not an illogical place to find an anonymous contact. In countries like Iran where there are absolutely NO homosexuals, (cough, cough, nudge, wink) totally straight men who happen to like having sex with other totally straight men have to go to extreme lengths to get off without getting dead. Hint, no one is probably looking in the bathroom at the mosque. Since this is a political blog I think we need to examine why only men’s and not women’s restrooms are used to entrap people. We need to examine why women have more freedom to touch each other or express affection to each other in public. We need to explore why matters of sex bother us so much, and why we want to entrap ANYONE for ANY reason, not just sex crimes. I helped start the Gay Liberation movement in LA many years ago, and used to feel very sorry for us poor misunderstood queens, but now I feel sorry for straight people. The entrenched mentality of the movement made me realize that everyone is repressed to a certain degree in this nasty, greedy culture, and we need to work together to create a society where our natural human diversity is a strength, rather than an excuse to destroy each other.

Human behavior is famously overdetermined, and I think there is another facet of this phenomenon. Men with a basically conservative Weltanschauung with homosexual inclinations make a decision to repress their urges, marry, and pass themselves off as heterosexuals. They also make a political calculation that, in benighted places like Florida, gay bashing gets more votes than standing up for gay rights. So they lead a double life, seeking votes demeaning gays, lesbians and transgendered people to win office while enjoying the pleasures of anonymous sex, assuming they are getting away with it, as they no doubt usually do. This way they can have their, um, cake and eat it too.

The Allure of Transgression

It works on both sexes: What I'm doing is bad, bad, naughty, nasty, even illegal--and is therefore hot-hot-hot. Breaking rules is fun. Sin is fun. Doing what you're not supposed to do is fun. Even contemplation of sin is fun. Makes your heart pound and your breathing change and you feel all loosey-goosey inside.

Don't we have lots of popular songs around I know this is wrong but it feels so right? How many adulterers would be happy to find out that their spouses didn't care if they had a lover? More titillating to sneak around; having permission takes away much of the fun!

The combination of fear and arousal can be potent. There is a thrill in getting away with theft, a thrill in going through doors marked, "Do Not Exit," a thrill in speaking truth to power in situations where truth is not a welcome guest.

Add to that the fact that humans, while not possessing as many olfactory receptors as most animals, are still acted upon physiologically by smell. The smell in a men's restroom is made up of all kinda pheromonic scents that happen to coexist with smells we usually try to Lysol away.

That tingle of anticipation, fear, and arousal starts before you enter the restroom, but when the smell hits you you're a goner. If you think the nastiness of a men's restroom precludes arousal, you couldn't be more wrong. It's part of the experience.

Stevenson knew

There was something strange in my sensations, something indescribably new and, from its very novelty, incredibly sweet. I felt younger, lighter, happier in body; within I was conscious of a heady recklessness, a current of disordered sensual images running like a millrace in my fancy, a solution of the bonds of obligation, an unknown but not an innocent freedom of the soul. I knew myself, at the first breath of this new life, to be more wicked, tenfold more wicked, sold a slave to my original evil; and the thought, in that moment, braced and delighted me like wine.

Robert Louis Stevenson, The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde

Stevenson was writing about a narcissitic real-life Mr. Bond

Bond was a famous bonne vivant who turned out to be not only a well known civic official but also the neighborhood cat burglar who went on to become a murderer.

Stevenson was writing about how someone could have this double life and yet appear to the public as "respectable."

Yes, it does mirror all the the Republican and Democratic shenanigans of sex, ethics and lack of fulfillment of committed electoral promises but it DOES NOT RELATE TO SEX.

That, so far, only rethugs have been caught in comprimising and sordid situations? Could it be that no demos are closet queens or secret lesbians? This isn't offensive to me because of someone's sexual preference or choice of locations to have sex, but of the very suspicious one-sided nature of the situation. This could backfire on the Democrats, big time.

the thrill of T room sex

Bathroom (T-room) cruising is iconic in the gay world. What self-respecting gay guy hasn't gone in for it? However, it's for the young. Older men doing it are ogres. The seriously pathetic str8 world--even, or especially, progressives--thinks of sex in such Puritanical terms. Your notion of sexual non-inhibition is sadly pre-choreographed. Assume that anywhere large enough to fit two gay men is an appropriate potential for hot queer sex.

Sadly, Republicans are screwing up all the fun!

Cause IT feels good!

The main reason you find men having sex in restrooms or semi-public areas, parks, woods, cars on side of street, is that IT feels good! There are few men alive who do not like or enjoy oral sex, regardless of whether the partner is male or female! In fact most of these men who get caught in these areas are truly Str8 guys who know, probably from a younger age, that oral sex feels good, is a quicker way then climbing on top and so they seek out partners who will give them what they are not receiving at home from the "little woman" ! IF MORE wives and girlfriends would do it for their partners then these guys, Str8 and truly BI, would not have to seek out what few GAY guys do hang out in public areas! The common factor in all this is that both the Str8, BI, and GAY guys are in these areas because they live with a partner, male or female, who will not allow oral sex at home, will not do it, and so they must go elsewhere. IF there was less uptightness abt. oral sex at home then these poor old (mostly) and young Str8 guys would not have to seek out what few gay guys there are who hang in public restrooms. Rest assured that MOST gay guys, now a days, do not need to meet in public restroooms to engage in sex. We have enough places and ways to meet, not like 20-25 yrs. ago, and so WE by enlarge do not engage in sex in public areas! What you have are mostly Str8 guys, married guys, older men who seek that good feeling and cannot get it done at home! Thus they impose themselves on the rest of us and give all gay guys a bad rap!!! I have never had sex in a public restroom, park, woods, car on street, NEVER HAD TO! So before any one thinks that it is a gay guy seeking sex from an undercover guy, just remember that IT is a Str8, BI, married guy seeking a good feeling that HE cannot get at home!! THAT IS ALL IT IS! So women, take care of your man's need for a good oral feeling and HE won't need or feel the urge to go to a public restroom or other public areas!! Once again, like raising children, IT is best DONE AT HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!
