This was a weird one. It came in on my RSS feed, and when I went to click on it, it was gone. Then I went to the website, and it wasn't there either. I finally found it at Telegraph UK, and I've got to say I'm not surprised.

He wrote: "They are using sheer force against lawyers, human rights organizations, political activists and all genuine opposition leaders are in jail. The police have ransacked my house and ill treated my family members."

Mr Khan also blamed both the US for their role in proceedings, while accusing former prime minister Benazir Bhutto of secretly working with Gen Musharraf.

"I believe that the Americans are complicit, or at the very least knew about this, before it took place," he wrote.

"They are backing Musharraf as he could never get his way if they were serious about stopping him. Their recent statements represent just a slap on the wrist. The reason he is still getting support from the army is because of US backing.

Imran Khan is a well known U.K. personality, politician and cricketer.

It appears that the US is doing the same thing in Pakistan it did last year in Nepal, where it covertly (ironically, through Pakistan) armed and funded the corrupt, brutal, authoritarian God-King against democratic forces while pretending to support democracy, which fortunately triumphed after bloody nationwide protests. Our officials offer tepid expressions of concern and pious platitudes to the media and our more ethical allies while arming and financing tyrants willing to dance to our tunes. General Perverse Musharraf has proven himself as lapdog to Bush and pitbull to democrats in his country.

Bush and company are watching events in Pakistan so they can do the same thing here.

I believe that is probably true because we have come to expect duplicity from our government, but I'm trying to zero in on what the exact motive would be. Is it to make sure there is no election in January? I mean, how does the US gain by this...just trying to figure out how their shifty little minds work.
