Hmmmm...Iran, no nukes, Pakistan, nukes and chaos. What do you think Bush will do about this "situation," as the White House's "partner" in the Global War on Terror, led by President General Pervez Musharraf, turns into a violent police state. (The Pakistani Newspaper):

The police on Monday baton-charged and arrested more than 150 protesting lawyers in Rawalpindi and Karachi witnesses said. They were protesting the state of emergency imposed by President General Pervez Musharraf.

Police and paramilitary soldiers sealed off the high court in Karachi and barred journalists and lawyers from entering, before charging at lawyers outside the building, lawyers and witnesses said. "It has never happened in Pakistan's history that such huge number of lawyers have been arrested," former Sindh High Court judge Rashid Razvi, told reporters. "More than 100 lawyers were arrested in Karachi after police foiled their attempt to hold a bar association meeting," he said.

Pakistani opposition leader Benazir Bhutto, the target of an assassination attempt when she returned to the country a couple of weeks ago, calls for Musharraf to "revive the constitution by lifting martial law."

Condi's statement:

U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, speaking at a news conference in the West Bank during Middle East peace talks, urged Musharraf to sever his links with the military and reinstate civilian rule, The Associated Press said Monday.

Rice said Musharraf should stick to his word and "take off his uniform," the agency reported. "I want to be very clear. We believe that the best path for Pakistan is to quickly return to a constitutional path and then to hold elections," she said in comments carried by AP

Same thing he has done so far... NOTHING.

And the mainstream media will still toe the white house/ corporate oil line and denounce Venzuela for far less an offense to democracy far more.

Bush continues the same old game of putting our nation into bed with despotic dictators who serve political purposes at the moment. Thats why we have our troubles with Afghanistan, Al Queda, Iraq, and Iran today. Because yesterday we were fiddling around with them and their unelected leaders yesterday.

The moron introdcued Bush's puppet Dictator Mush with the following words:
""President Musharraf is a leader of global importance and his contribution to Pakistan’s economic turnaround and the international fight against terror remain remarkable - it is rare that we have a leader of his stature at campus," said Lee C Bollinger, the President of Columbia University."

Mush's days are numbered. This is an act of desperation by man who has plunged the country into one one disaster after another.

Is US going to suspend aid to Pak? I doubt it very much. These tin-pot dictators (like Mubarak, House of Saud et al) are the ones that carry out US foreign policy.

a great partnership with the Bush Regime.

A New World Order can't come fast enough for these thugs.

So much for the Bush Ad.'s fervent desire for the spread of democracy, i.e., IRAQ.

What a fucking laugh!

Ironically, this may be a good thing for you Americans who are aware of the true situation in your own country, as a similar event may be in your near future. So, study it, learn what works and what doesn't - rioting lawyers seems useless - and make plans for how to deal with your own impending 'constitutional emergency' or 'national security measures' or whatever your deranged neocon 'leaders' decide to call it.

Nuclear Power Pakistan: Musharraf Suspends Constitution; Violence Erupts
Pakistan has very few civil politicians. The army has ruled the Pakistan democratic, if you would like to call this democratic, politics for many years. There never was democracy in Pakistan. India, yes, Pakistan after the partition from the colonial yolk in 1947s has seen more of the military junta then dice rule. The irony is that USA had Pakistan as the corner stone of the East, a sort of eyes on the Russia, China, India and many Eastern countries who were going ahead in the nuke warfare.
This is the time USA gave lots of cash to peep into the other countries. The Taliban came and to commit the terrorism USA poured funds in Pakistan. The reason is the army can do a better job on the wars he the civilians politicians.
USA is now stuck with the war in Iraq and Afghanistan and the North Korea and Iran. USA needs Pakistan but this demonstration and the Musharaf holding on to the throne until next year’s election is a serious threat to the hushing of the Taliban. The Taliban will rise up fast in the presence of the political era this time in Pakistan. They have the edge in the war torn Pakistan.
All speed ahead for Musharaf, sir for the time being as he has all the lawyers and the opponents in the captivities.
This is democracy as he thinks. In addition, he is right. I personally do not think Bhutto can do in thing now.

I thank you

that this puppet Musharaff suspended constitution without
first consulting with his american masters.
These fascists do not want any democratic elections
in Pakistan.
They know that Musharaff will loose elections
and antiamerican and antiisrael government will be established.
Last year they sent 10 bill of Your dollars to keep this
puppet in power
