Guess what? NBC does not like it when we citizens of the new media republic catch them out. After Taylor Marsh caught Tim Russert making up stuff about Bill Clinton closing the archives waving an outdated thirteen year old document at an unsuspecting candidate for President ("I have here a list of Communists in the State Department"), the NBC NEWS ran a "special report" with Lisa Myers about how Bill Clinton closed the archives.

Boy, must have had that one in the works for a while.

Since they could not get the archivist to say anything beyond "I'm a librarian, and you're trying to take out books," they went to that legendary neutral expert on the rectitude of Bill Clinton, Judicial Watch.

In case you don't know it, Judicial Watch is the right wing funded (Scaife, etc.) attack dog group that spent much of the Nineties suing the Clintons. Surprise: Judicial Watch didn't think Bill Clinton had produced enough documents.

You would never know it to watch NBC "news" however, because they never mentioned who Judicial Watch was. Just put a microphone in front of the spokesman and let 'er rip.

The transparent (and hysterical) performance by Russert, who was clearly way out of his professional boundaries, was made hilariously worse by this utterly corrupt circling of the corporate wagons around his mistakes. Judicial watch? On the Clintons? And they call this news?

The Neocon Lapdog!

Although I don't like Shillery I haven't been able to stomach Lapdog Russert since he Ambushed and Attacked a survivor of Katrina on national television...

and those like him, bear a large part of the responsibility for what is currently wrong in our country. They have shown no willingness since Bush took office to do any real 'journalism' but have continue to be a 'catapult' for the bush 'propaganda'. If Bill Clinton had been guilty of doing even a small portion of what the bush administration has done to undermine the Constitution, destroy our Civil Liberties, and lie America into an unnecessary war, there would have been hell to pay. As someone else said, (sorry, I don't remember who it was) if Bill Clinton had done the things that Bush has done, the Republicans would have gone to the Whitehouse and dragged him out...and if Bill would have been gone, they would have taken Hillary out by the hair. Any of you Republicans out there doubt it, look at the time and money that was spent Impeaching Bill Clinton. And you all know that main stream media was all about promoting the Republicans in their personal Clinton smears.

Fact is, you can see on Tim Russert's face just how badly he would like to rip Hillary apart. However, Hillary has forgotten more than Tim Russert will ever know. Say what you want, she is a smart lady who knows that 30 second sound bites just don't cover what is happening to our Democracy.

Don't you all wonder if we are trying to export Democracy to Iraq because we're finished with it here? And if you think people such as Tim Russert and Chris Matthews didn't help to make that happen by their failure to do real 'journalistic reporting' then you haven't been paying attention.

I think Tim is losing his 'alter boy' status. He's had a good long run and is lately being challenged. The Scooter Libby fiasco changed his imaged just a bit. he's now fair game. So he gets to join the club. Thanks, ANNA

NBC is owned by General Electric and is the biggest lackey to the infotainment/corporatist/disinformation cabal. Watch CNBC for a day and you'll think Rupert Murdoch owns it.

Why Does NBC Hate Hillary?

For the same reasons that GE and the rest of corporte America hates Hillary: Hillary will bring fair play to the White House and the Administration of Government. GE doesn't want fairplay - they like it the way it is and want even more of the same. Never forget: GE did not bring us Ronald Reagan to help democracy, you or me. They did it for GE.

A different point of view.....

Why is it that when the Right Wing (or their enablers in the mainstream media) attack Bill or Hillary, many on the Left have a brain freeze and stand up for them? Being attacked by the Right Wing does not give one Progressive credentials.

The best thing one can say about Hillary if she is elected is that she would be competent, non-psychotic Republican who would bring a more intelligent and thoughtful approach to basically the same Neoconservative economic and foreign polices we've had since 2000.

I am personally tired of the Clinton's. In particular I am tired of making excuses for Bill Clinton. If he were a true progressive then I'd say "yes," let's overlook his many faults and support his wife. Bill Clinton does not deserve to be back in the White House as a "First Husband" or in any other capacity...regardless of Right Wing attacks, he has a documented history of engaging in inappropriate sexual behavior with female subordinates as both a governor and as president. Odds are he'd behave in a similar way again as "First Husband," enabling the Right Wing to engage the nation in yet another crippling legal drama that would bring the country to a standstill.

If Tim Russert wants to attack Hillary....that's fine with me...perhaps it would open the door for John Edward's getting the nomination

Isn't it funny how obviously biased this asshole Russert is? It's yet another example that shows anyone with a brain that the media is not liberal biased.

Russert's schmoozing with the Vice president's office
Posted by: janelynne on Nov 3, 2007 12:57 PM

During the Libby trail, Russert was called to testify what Libby said to him in a phone call. What was largely ignored was Russert's explanation for the call. Russert reported that Libby "called to complain" about what Russert was saying on "Meet the Press". How often and when were these calls placed? Russert did not indicate that he was "startled" by a call from the Office of the VP. It appears there was an open and usual communication link between the Vice president's office that only came to light by the happenstance of the Libby Trial.

During the MSNBC Debate in Philadelphia, the so-called "Lightening Round", al la the $10,000 Pyramid, an animated and purpose driven Russert was falling all over himself and obviously targeting Clinton. The format was meant to deny sufficient time for developed answers. This was unprofessional moderating, but also a fast shuffle to inevitably pounce on undeveloped answers. Was this discussed in advance with the office of the Vice President? If not this, then what has been discussed?

What exactly is Russert's working relationship with the administration? Does Russert serve at the pleasure of the WH?

Following the debate, Chris Matthews declared, "Hillary wants to hand out driver's licenses to undocumented workers as they come into this country under the fence."

With Obermann weirdly omitted from the Philadelphia debate, there was nothing that gave the air of fair and balanced moderating or analysis. Is NBC getting their marching orders from someone. Who? Why does NBC have the right to continue moderating? I think the Democrats should say no, as they did with Fox, and for the same reasons. Nothing about NBC looks squeeky clean to me, or even reasonably tidy.

Judicial Watch also sued Bush and Cheney. I realise that it is not politically

correct but understand that no matter who funds them JW tries to get the dirt on both the elite ruling families- the Clintons or the Bushes. JW realises that, on a Federal level, both parties, Democratic and Republican, are run by the same corporate, globalist, elite influences. Who sued to get the "energy" meeting minutes of Cheney? Not Mother Jones, but Juducial Watch. Are we to understand that corruption, lying, and executive orders are "OK" when a Democrat is in office, but not when Republicans are in office? How about kicking all the cheating liars out and demanding more from both parties? Or, better yet, electing a 3rd, or 4th, party and start clean?

I just finished watching "Power of Nightmares 1: The Rise of the Politics of Fear" and "Portrait of A Big Taboo: The Power of the Israeli Lobby in the US". I truly understand why our Representatives are making some of the decisions they make and wonder what we can possibly do about it. If you haven't watched these, I encourage anyone who is interested to goggle documentaries - free political documentaries and watch them. Lots of food for thought and concern about which presidential candidate (if any) will take steps to bring any of this out for public debate and what will happen. Seems that the public does need to be informed. Maybe most of you have known all this for a long time but as for me, it helps explain a lot of what I understood was happening or at least the reasons behind it.

I think we're in deep crap!

and always has been. MSNBC's Countdow Show With Keith Olbermann is the only (political) television I watch. The rest of them (including Chris Matthews) cheered this nightmare administration on and now they want to stuff (sellout) Hillary down our throats. A POX on Russert, Matthews, Scarborough and the rest of their bloody 9/11 flag waving (television) houses!
