Glenn Beck Launches Hateful Attack On Victims of California Wildfires

Howie Klein: Is Beck on drugs again? Did he set the fires himself? Does CNN have any sense of decency?

In May when the firefighters banged on my front door and told me I had 30 seconds to evacuate my house I was annoyed. Then I looked out the back windows and saw the flames shooting up into the sky. I was out of there in 20 seconds. I was a horrible feeling-- like I might never see my home again. My heart goes out to everyone in southern California who is going through that horror tonight. Many friends and family members have called to ask me if I'm ok. All the dry wooded areas in the Los Feliz hills burned down in May. We're doing OK. The fires are an hour away (as the car drives).

Even when I heard that Mel Gibson's house might burn down, I didn't have any feelings of glee. Nor did I when I read reports that Ken Starr was seen fleeing half clothed from his Malibu digs near the right-wing college he teaches at where the grounds were aflame this morning. I called the police and asked if they needed people in vehicles to drive down there to help with rescues. They didn't.

But I was shocked, even dismayed, to hear the public radio waves being used to stir up hatred by right wingers rejoicing that some of the victims of the wildfires were probably Democrats. CNN anchorman and psychotic hatemonger Glenn Beck was at it again. Does this guy belong on the public airwaves? The one person who died was a man in a wheelchair who couldn't get out of his burning home. Was Glenn Beck beating off at the thought that the man might have been a liberal?

"I think there is a handful of people who hate America. Unfortunately for them, a lot of them are losing their homes in a forest fire today. There are a few people that hate America. But I don't think the Democrats are those. I think there are those posing as Democrats that are like that."

Is Beck even aware that the quarter million families evacuated in Northern San Diego County are probably mostly non-political, Republicans and independents, not Democrats? Not that that would matter to anyone in their right mind to begin with! A responsible journalist might instead be asking why fire fighters haven't had the funding necessary to adequately prepare for this predictable predicted catastrophe. And the rest of us might ask the same question-- as well as one for CNN: Why hasn't Glenn Beck been fired yet? These people are a disgrace to journalism.

Blue collar, white, grade school reading level. Folks who think pro wrestling is the real thing.

Those living in other parts of the country probably couldn't find California on the map. So it would be natural that they would think that Orange county would be a hotbed of leftist America haters!

Rush, Coulter, Savage, Beck...they all perform a useful service to the Right Wing and they all get paid handsomely for it. It is critical to the Right/Conservative movement that public debate on policy issues NEVER takes place in a polite/civil and factual basis....this would be a disaster. SCHIP, health care for all Americans....it is intolerable that the masses be allowed to express the real opinions on these (and other issues) in a civil public forum. [Side note: The Right Wing went apeshit when Bill Moyer ran a program on PBS showing a man stating that this nation needs universal heath care].

Beck and others of his kind appeal to base, primitive instincts to divert attention aware from core issues that conservatives would loose on...this is their primary function in life.

He represents the ones who look and think just like him. Bullies love him, as they do Rush, Bill O and Hannity.

Mean, stupid people who are easily directed to hate. I don't hate them, but I do know who they are. I see Beck fans every few Thanksgivings. We all have them in our own families. The selfish boors who think the world owes them a country club membership. Bullies.

This year, the debate is no longer theirs no matter what sort of fight THEY put up. I am done with them. They are moral and intellectual weaklings. Physically, any brave person can handle them. They will escalate things at the table to win, knowing that every civilized person will back down to keep a conversational tone. This year I let these punks have it. Two of them will assuredly storm out. Bye, bye Becker-Heads.

Bullies are egg-shell weak. Someone being good in their presence crushes them. Good. Let them be embarrassed.

Right Wing Loonies

I think everyone, including southern cretins, know where California is on the map. But then they could check a satellite night photo of western America and our part of the state is the one glowing like hell in the dark.

Right now in OC we're barbecuing homes. Orange County IS a hotbed of leftist Americans. There are so few of us though our county appears to be right wing. Most importantly, we DON'T hate America... we would like to save it from imbecilic cretins like Beck and his ilk and all right-wing loonies!

Rush, Coulter, Savage, Beck are best described as what floats in a sewer. The useful service they perform for the Right Wing Seig-Heilers is to segway our hatred away from DarthVader and the monkey-King. The Right Wing and Neocons are composed of moronic dipshits who have NO humanity... and as such SHOULD be treated with EXTREME hatred and continued and applied defecation!

Beck and his ilk appeal to the base, primitive instincts of unthinking cretins. His job... divert attention away from the core issues of peace, humanity, and our children's future so desparately needed at this time.

Whenever I can, I send unpleasant emails and even snail-mail to them. No communication path to them should go unused. Curse and defile THEM! Make THEM squirm in their excreta! Directed anger is the best therapy for any one with concerns about our nation!

Beck Or Anderson or Lou?

Beck clearly belongs somewhere else. Write CNN. Say Fire Beck or you'll stop watching a very credible Anderson Cooper. Sorry Anderson, but Beck is on your team. Oh and perhaps bail on Lou Dobbs as well. Sorry Lou, we like you too, but that Beck guy has got to go. Free Speech Yes. Hate Speech No.

And Glenn, what of all those homes in San Diego and San Bernardino counties. All very red areas. American haters too? Are they victims of a god driven plague because they happen to live in the same state as the liberal america haters? And Beck, no need to say your sorry, because we all know you are a sorry excuse for a human. good luck

Brownshirts, Goebbles, The Third Reich - no worse than American rendition and torture, elimination of habeus corpus and other constitutional rights (free speech in from of Bush is a no-no), nooses in trees, Ann Coulter "perfecting" Jews in the name of a Jew. The insanity, prejudice. ignorance and patently hateful screechings of the right wing in America must be addressed by reasonable people everywhere by instant and vocal condemnation. Democrates, Republicans, Progressives, theists, atheists - all must roundly condemn the purveyors of hate and transference (they always accuse opponents of precisely what they themselves practice - attack the person, not the argument). From Coultergeist to Orally, Limpdick to Hannity - all are liars, obfuscators and self-serving fellators of the religious, neo-con fascist movement. Let advertisers, radio, television and newspapers/periodicals, know that they will lose your business if they support these fascist mouthpieces. Money talks - bullshit gets elected (sort of) to the White House.

And these are the ones calling others "un-American"

It is just another incident to add to so many that show how the great number of Americans who have forgotten, or worse, never knew, what being an American is about. They don't know the Declaration or the Constitution, much less any of the writings of the Founders. Anyone who disagrees with them or stands in their way is, to them, un-American. It's no wonder that Cheney/Bush have gotten do far on the road to fascism: even the Congress doesn't know who or what they are, or why they are there. They have no idea of their rights, their powers or their responsibilities. The electorate have even less.

This is why there are no longer any civics classes, and long before they were dropped, they were not taught accurately regarding the most important things: citizenship and what it really entails. This takeover has been a long time coming, and the groups who are behind it have been working at setting it up for many decades. They tried before this current effort and were frustrated. Not this time, I think.

Ian
