We brought you Adam Kokesh's incredible speech from last Saturday's Iraq protests in Washington D.C., and unfortunately, there was an incident that occurred that day that was so disgusting it defies description.

Via After Downing Street:

Here are photos of members of "Gathering of Eagles" who assaulted gold star father Carlos Arredondo in broad daylight in Washington, D.C., on September 15, 2007, throwing him to the ground and kicking him.

Account of what happened from Arredondo's wife By Mélida Arredondo:

Carlos Arredondo, 47 year old father of two sons, arrived in the nation's capitol on Monday, 09/10/07 to share a memorial he has made to honor for his eldest son, Alex. Carlos has visited thirty of the United States with the traveling memorial to his son Alexander. Lcpl. Alexander S. Arredondo, USMC was killed on 08/25/04. He was 20 years and 20 days old. The memorial consists of a casket, poster- size photographs of Alex when he graduated from boot camp, before his second tour in Iraq, lying in state at his wake, and a photo of Alex with his younger brother Brian.

Saturday, September 15, 2007 consisted of first a rally, a march towards the capitol and then a die-in. Carlos pulled the memorial along the march route approaching the rotunda near the capitol building. Several of the marchers requested for him to speak about the memorial where a crowd gathered around him. After finishing, several people walked with Carlos as he pulled the memorial. Several pictures of Alex dressed in his blues were attached to the display.

As Carlos passed counter protesters, one man ripped a picture of Alex from the memorial. Carlos leaped on the man to retrieve the picture. It was at that point that approximately five others all began to attack Carlos by kicking him in the head, legs, stomach and back.

This hateful group has a website, and while I have reservations about linking to them I feel that the depths of their hatred and ignorance must be seen to be believed and it must be beaten back. Please take the time to go look at the comments being made about Carlos at their site. No matter how enraging it may be, they must be exposed for who and what they really are.

The Capitol police bicycle patrol then appeared to break up the fight. Several officers including a female officer were engaged in breaking up the fight and were able to stop any further injuries from occurring. Hannah Jones who was walking with Carlos was also assaulted.

A bystander named Ramesh witnessed the whole encounter and also retrieved the picture of Alex for Carlos. He was quite distressed at how he watched the men follow Carlos as he pulled the memorial, purposefully yelling epiphets and eventually taking Alex's photograph. Soon, an ambulance showed up as well as many concerned activists. The paramedics provided first aid to Carlos but he did not seek further medical attention. Carlos sustained bloody cuts on his shins. He also reported bruises all over his torso and head where he was kicked.

For a group of people who don't believe in evolution, they sure have devolved democracy, free speech and what the Constitution is all about.

I can't believe the man didn't sue them.

The "Eagles" actions are remarkably similar to the actions of the brown shirts of the Nazi party in prewar Germany. This shows the direction we are going.

And, on cue, they are "questioning" the validity of the reports, photographic and video evidence notwithstanding, and questioning the mental health of the Arredondo.

Ugh, I simply can't stand those people.

on the leash of the Merchants of Death. These stupid, vile, misguided dolts don't even realize they are being used. Iraq has nothing to do with honor, patriotism, or American values and all to do with Oil, Money, Profit, and Lies. They have been and are being used by the Death Merchants to spread hate and death among us. There are in every society a certain group of people who will be the jailers, torturers, Camp guards, and other assorted monsters doing the handlers bidding. Usually not too bright, very conservative, most likely religious zealots, and clueless as to the real facts of the situation. Read Mark Twain's Mysterious Stranger to get a better idea of who they are.

Isn't there a lawyer out there who sees dollar signs in this one? Maybe even a pro bono offer?

The hatred and death must be stopped.

Why are we only now learning of this outrage?

Mr. Arredondo was assaulted a week ago!

Of course we can blame the mainstream media (MSM) for ignoring the story. Yet, interestingly enough, in a GoogleNews seach of Carlos Arredondo the two most contemporary accounts of the incident are posted by the Moonie Washington Times and the right wing National Review Online for September 15 and 17 respectively.

Where was the progessive/left blogosphere?

Mr. Arredondo's assault is a much, more egregious affront to our shared First Amendment freedoms and civil, in both senses of the word, society that the tasering of a grandstanding University of Flordia student.

This father was attacked because not only was he against the war but because his family is Latino! I am so sorry that this family paid such a price so GOP sons and daughters can stay home and not go to fight. I bet those white ex-military prigs enjoyed beating up a Latino!

If you want to get a sense of the timbre of this group of pseudo-patriots, try leaving a calm, reasoned anti-war comment on their web site and watch the pit bulls attack. These are the people who truly would welcome the Christo-Fascist reich in America.

I started reading some of the posts on MM's web site. Scary shit there. Where do they get off trying to turn it on the father of a dead Marine? Oh yeah, that's right. They are right, and everyone else is wrong. Blind faith in Heir Bush has poisoned them just like the blind faith of the Evangelicals. One poster even said that if it were true that the "liberal" media would have been all over it with coverage on the main networks. What "liberal" media are they talking about? There is no "liberal" media! CNN, ABC, CBS, and NBC are corporate controlled!!!
The problem, in my estimation, is that these guys watch Michelle Malkin because she is a pretty woman that they watch to masturbate to while she fills their brains with poisonous rhetoric about how they should act towards people who don't believe in what they believe in.
Good night and good luck....

I'm sure we can find enough volunteers.

Well I scanned the Eagle drek site. Beligerant small group of facsist aren't they. But according to a couple of these mama's boys that haven't grown up yet, one said he retaliated because he was bitten. Is this true?

I wasn't there but I would like to know the truth. Truth is the only thing that matters.

As well, one person said that at best there were 6k protesters there, where as lefties say over 100k.
What is the truth?

So the saddest point here is that if we want the power of diplomacy to be the path to peace in Iraq then no diplomatic action was made by dragging a coffin into a protest because all it does to the opposition is feeds their ego to revolt.
Yes, we all know they are in denial, but uncivilized antagonism only feeds anger.

When the type of protest that happens to not work. It's best to simply withdraw from being lead into an unwinnable game.
Simply create a different game. Stop participating in the game that feeds their egos. Then they won't have anyone to play with. (except theirselves!)

I guess the problem is that it will take every last lefty to stop feeding the machine in order to make them realize what they are doing will ruin them.

Vote with your money (if you have any). I believe in England just lately, there was a small run-on-the-banks that freaked out the "System". This they reacted to, as you would expect.

SO, please what was the truth?

I prefer not to visit websites of neo-Nazis and other ignorant pigs who think they have something to say. There are many such websites (and many more pigs) out there. The fact is that as long as people appear to support Bush's agenda, they won't be touched. Try to say something against Bush, however....well, you've seen what can happen. It was clearly an act of stupidity, racism and bigotry. They need to be sued.

We've been hearing of late about the many illegal acts being committed by the government in the name of "national security." What tripe. If the current Administration can engage in fascist activity, then why should they be interested in preventing acts of egregious violence on U.S. soil? That's what this Administration is all about - violence, hatred, and lies.

Whatever you do, don't encourage these sickos by watching the videos and visiting the websites. Instead, spread the word and write to your Congressmen. Knowledge is power.

These guys don't have the guts to go over there and fight this war, but rather, attend peace rallies just looking for someone to gang up on. Read a few of their comments on the website link provided. They are all illiterate. Which just goes to show the mindset . . . or lack thereof.

Sick, sick, sick. I wish we could ship every bloody fu**king war supporter over there and let them fight it out; they're salivating so hard to keep this endless war going.....
