I came back from the Equality Alabama dinner to this hilarious news, and it brought a smile to my face. How loony has the presidential race become for the Republicans? Just when I didn't think it could become more entertaining, we have "father of the year" (for kicking his poor daughter out of the house because she is gay), Alan Keyes.

He's jumping in to "save the party." Oh, sweet Jeebus this is beautiful. I had to go to WingNutDaily for its take.

Keyes told syndicated radio host Janet Parshall he's "unmoved" by the lack of moral courage shown by the other candidates, among whom he sees no standout who articulates the "key kernel of truth that must, with courage, be presented to our people."

He added, "The one thing I've always been called to do is to raise the standard ... of our allegiance to God and His authority that has been the foundation stone of our nation's life" - and he decried the lack of "forthright, clear, and clarion declaration" from the current crop of presidential contenders.

could there be a more self righteous, pious, self absorbed individual than consistent loser AlanKeyes? I THINK NOT! if only the repubs would choose him, we'd( the Democrats) be assured of a victory so overwhelming, that we'd soon be the most progressive and sane nation on the planet.
