Bush Administration Attacks Bin Laden's...Manhood?
This post, written by GottaLaff, originally appeared on Cliff Schecter's Blog
What a brilliant move by Bush's Homeland Security adviser Frances Townsend. Um, Ms. Townsend? Your job description? The keyword is Security.
Seemingly taunting Osama bin Laden, President Bush's homeland security adviser said Sunday the fugitive al-Qaida leader is "virtually impotent" beyond his ability to hide away and spread anti-American propaganda.1) Using the word "impotent" doesn't seem to be the wisest way to insult any man, let alone the lunatic who already killed 3,000 Americans. And 2) What, "bring it on" wasn't stupid enough?
In appearance on two Sunday talk shows, she used the "virtually impotent" reference both times, suggesting the language was chosen with careful purpose.Alrighty then. Maybe they've been told that Bin Laden really is "impotent" and no longer much of a threat.
The consensus of the nation's top intelligence analysts is that bin Laden's terrorist network is anything but impotent.
Wrong again. It's not like the timing of his video coincided with others that came just prior to an attack, right?
Rohan Gunaratna, author "Inside Al Qaeda"
"Osama's call to the Americans to convert to Islam is indicative of an al Qaeda attack on US targets. Before the Prophet (Mohammad) attacked his enemies he urged his opponents to embrace Islam."But Townsend said this:
"There's nothing overtly obvious in the tape that would suggest this is a trigger for an attack," she said. This from the person who openly provokes a mass murderer with the word "impotent". Whether Osama, the father of 55 children, is secure enough with his own masculinity is one thing. Whether he chooses to prove his manhood to make a point is another.
