GOP Struggles With McCain's Florida Campaign Co-Chair's Oral Sex Bust, Vitter's Diaper Fetish

Pam Spaulding: The man who tried to pass a "Lewd and Lecivious Behavior Act" is forced to explain why he offered an undercover cop twenty dollars for oral sex in a bathroom stall.

"I'm not in anyway associated with that they are saying, this is disgusting." -- Florida Rep. Bob Allen on the "very big misunderstanding" and "gross mistake" of his arrest at a Titusville park after asking a male undercover cop if Allen could blow him for $20

UPDATE: Scott from Reality Cubed passed Bob Allen's police report along, from Broward for Change. It's priceless; I'm not sure where the misunderstanding is in the report. Click to enlarge.

Joe.My.God has been following the political antics of Rep. Allen for a while; I'll share just one kicker from his pad.
Laugh #1: Rep. Allen is the author of failed Florida House Bill #1475, the "Lewd and Lecivious Behavior Act" which would have made public masturbation in the presence of another adult illegal, whether the other adult consented or not. Florida statutes already cover such behavior for when a minor is present and the bill died in committee in two months ago. I'm pretty sure Rep. Allen was violating #1475 when he offered to blow that cop, doncha think? Lucky for him it didn't pass!
Surf over and read the rest (protect your keyboards from spewage).

Also, Mike Rogers over at PageOneQ reports on Allen's voting record and ties to McCain:
Bob Allen (R) was appointed Florida co-Chairman of the McCain campaign in March. At the time, McCain said he was proud of the support he received from Allen and that Allen and his three co-chairs were "respected leaders in their communities and have real experience wrestling with the important issues of our day."
... PageOneQ has obtained information regarding Allen's voting record and ratings by advocacy organizations. Between 2003 and 2006 Allen voted with the Christian Coalition over 90% of the time. Allen has been endorsed by the Florida Right to Life Committee and this year he voted to impose a 24-hour waiting period on third-trimester abortions.
I had some Freeper reaction to Allen's arrest, but the free speech advocates at Free Republic pulled the thread.

Sympathy for the devil (in diapers?)

The Family Research Council's Tony Perkins on his philandering friend David Vitter:

The statement by my friend and former colleague, Louisiana Senator David Vitter, was very disappointing. He admitted to a "serious sin" in a statement he released to the press on Monday, prior to news reports revealing that his phone number appeared on a long list of client's numbers of the now infamous DC Madam, Deborah Jeane Palfrey.
...While I commend him on assuming personal responsibility and working to make things whole in his life, I cannot defend David's behavior. Adultery is a serious matter that affects not only the individuals involved but families and the well being of the entire community. Voters have the right to consider issues like this when they assess the character of an elected official.
Having said that, the American people have shown themselves to be very forgiving toward a public official who admits their failures and takes redemptive steps.
Do you think he felt the same way when Bill Clinton was being whipped by the right for his indiscretions? Just asking. In the too much information department, Vitter's "Lousiana family values" universe is spinning out of control as even more fantastic allegations keep on coming. From Your Right Hand Thief, via blogenfreude:
We're talking about, among other things, Diaper Fetishism. That's right folks, according to a trusted inside source, Vitter was well known among other Canal Street Brothel patrons to like diapers as well as other bizarre "fetishes".
Argh.

* GOP Pundit Outed In DC Madam Scandal
The phone number for GOP political operative/conservative pundit, John (Jack) M. Burkman Jr. - Principal J.M. Burkman & Associates, Arlington, VA - appears in the database of phone records of the 'DC Madam.' From the phone logs: 2006-01-15 18:44 1.00
Burkman was a talking head defending the Coultergeist when she attacked the 9/11 widows on Scarborough Country.

Digg!
