Liars!

The allegation is "absolutely and completely untrue."

It's "just crass Louisiana politics." It's crass all right.

...and another conservative hypocrite gets bitten by a forbidden booty call. The tighter wound these wingnuts are the harder they fall. Mind you, Senator Vitter railed against same-sex unions, finding nothing more important than making discrimination against gays part of our Constitution.

"I don't believe there's any issue that's more important than this one," said Sen. David Vitter, a Louisiana Republican. "I think this debate is very healthy, and it's winning a lot of hearts and minds. I think we're going to show real progress."

Gay marriage ban

But as for adultery it's hookers for everyone!

For those of you who aren't familiar with the DC Madam, here's some video to refresh your memory. Mr. Vitter doesn't need any reminder anymore. All those denials have turned to dust.

Sen. David Vitter (R-La.) apologized last night after his telephone number appeared in the phone records of the woman dubbed the "D.C. Madam," making him the first member of Congress to become ensnared in the high-profile case.

The statement containing Vitter's apology said his telephone number was included on phone records of Pamela Martin and Associates dating from before he ran for the Senate in 2004.

(snip)

"Several years ago, I asked for and received forgiveness from God and my wife in confession and marriage counseling," Vitter continued. "Out of respect for my family, I will keep my discussion of the matter there -- with God and them. But I certainly offer my deep and sincere apologies to all I have disappointed and let down in any way." ... ..

Senator's Number on 'Madam' Phone List

Ah yes, God forgave him. Wonder how that forgiveness came, in the form of a note or a lightning bolt; or maybe his wife sent it? As for the "respect" of his family, Mr. Vitter pretty much destroyed that all on his own.

UPDATE:Did Larry Flynt help snare the senator? Oh! The indignity.

UPDATE: Classic Vitter flashback condemning Bill Clinton.

so if God is forgiving on the adultery commandment, does that mean he is forgiving everyone these days? Maybe murders next?

And this isn't the first time he has committed adultery from what I have read. Can you be truly repented when you keep violating your faith? Has the St. Francis Xavier Church asked him to stop lectoring?

First Clinton, now Vitter. Honestly, for a republican, I didn't think he was that bad of a guy. He was constantly pushing for coastal restoration in LA, and did more in his first couple of years as a senator than John-Who-Me?-Work?-Breaux did during his entire occupation-whilst-respiring 900-year stint in the Senate.

Meh. I'll extend him the same credibility as I gave Clinton: do your job, and try and do your best to fix your private life on your own time.

And be a good man every chance you get.

Gee...why didn't he just ask The Prezz? He's pretty big on that kind of thing...
