Next week, thousands of progressive activists are descending on Washington, DC for the yearly conference put on by Campaign for America's Future: that's right, everyone, it's time to Take Back America!

From June 18 -20, you'll have a chance to hear Edwards, Barack, Hillary and Dennis all within the few days of the conference. Not to mention Michael Moore talking about Sicko, plus loads of progressive and liberal elected officials laying out their plans. Add in the labor leaders, immigration reformers and other grassroots activists, and you've got a conference of folks coming together to hammer out their visions for the future of the country.

Register here for the conference, and if you're coming -- AlterNet will be there in the Progressive Media Row, so be sure to stop by our table and say hello!

If Vanity Fair wanted to flip the New Yorker cover on the GOP, they'd have to portray the media's lies about the candidate. Not the true stuff.

Reclaim America???? Not A Chance

We can't begin to reclaim America until we gain control of the Authority to Issue Notes/Money. On Christmas Eve 1913 that authority was unconstitutionally transferred to private corporations (The Federal Reserve Act), which also secured for these corporations the right to charge the Government interest for issuing money. The cost, to those who pay income tax, is approximately $500 billion annually and climbing.

There are approximately $263 billion in Federal Reserve Notes in circulation.

$263 billion and we can only account for a small percentage.

Since our debt is payable in Federal Reserve Notes, the $4 trillion national debt cannot be paid-off with the total Federal Reserve Notes in circulation. If the Federal Government would collect every Federal Reserve Note in circulation it would be mathematically impossible to pay the $4 trillion national debt.

Since $1 deposited in a member bank allows that bank to loan out $7/$8 through the Fractional Reserve Policy.

However, $7 of additional Federal Reserve Notes are never put into circulation. But, for lack of better words they were "created out of thin air " in the form of credits and the cost of two cents per denomination were not paid either. In other words, the Federal Reserve Notes were not physically printed but, in reality were created by a journal entry and lent at interest.

Our country now borrows what should be our own money from the Federal Reserve (a private corporation) plus interest, and the debt can never be paid off under the current monetary system of this country?

Reclaiming America is a fools errand as long as the Fed exists as a Central Bank.

.. the candidates and elected officials are not any part of what has robbed us of our democracy and any real role in determining the path of our government and nation, right?

So... who or what is it we are taking our nation back from again??????

Until you cut the strings that tether politicians to their corporate controllers, you'll never see change.

I suggest reading Scott Ritter's "Waging Peace: The Art of War for the Anti-War Movement" - I think I got the title wrong.

Follow the money.
