A recent poll determined that 85% of Americans believe the Bush Administration is either hiding what it knew, prior to 9-11 about possibly upcoming attacks, or simply lying outright to the American people about the Septmeber 11, 2001 attacks.

Clearly, the Bush Administration has lost the trust of the American public.

why must you perpetuate the illusion that Arabs were behind 9/11? most of the world knows that is foolish. 9/11 was an inside job by the bush administration's neocon nazis. its obvious. aren't you paying attention? or are you trying to deflect attention from the real culprits? recent research, the excellent article by kevin ryan, which would have appeared on Alternet if this was truly a progressive news site, exposes a stunning set of facts which lead to the conclusion that there is no informed opposition to essential claim of the 9/11 Truth movement: we've been subject to a coup d'etat and the implications are grim.

And this when “Osama bin Laden's group” ( a.k.a. CIA codename Tim Osman ) were known CIA stooges as late as 2000 at Dubai and were allowed to remain so .

You people are as bad as the Freepers for sticking to an initial idea despite overwhelming evidence that what you are passing along as "known facts" that you base the demolition and close working relationshiop with OBL on. At the heart of it are the highly questionable activities of the admoinistration that give credennce to the theory that they knew an attack was likely to happen and took steps to see that it was successful. THis attack plays perfectly into the hands of PNAC and Cheney's long push to avoid having a "peace dividend" payed out of the Pentagons gradually shrinking budget under Clinton due the Post-Cold War realities of a geat economy, a national debt paid down, and no real justification for the R&D billions that the Pentagon contractors (Boeing. Lockheed-Martin, etc) were desperaste to justify. Add the "Israel First" bunch at the cebter of PNAC and you have the perfect recipe for a group who see one attack as more than worthy of being able to maintain Israeli-American domination.

But you have taken the strange behaviour by the WH to hide their knowledge of an impebnding attack as evidence of the most proposterous theories! One by one the demolition theories have been shown to be based on bad science and wild imaginations taking any ambiguity as proof of certainty. What happened to the WTC 1 and 2 "free-fall" theories? I simply pointed out that object falling independant of the towers fell at a much faster rate of speed, thereby utterly destroying the idea that they fell at gravitational velocities.

Before that, you were so dull as to not have noticed that beilding which have their foundation blown out, (as many of you started saying immediately) dewspite the obvious matter of towers that pancaked from the point of impact, and not as a whole unit, the process that we all would have witnessed had the foundations been taken out by thermite.

Oh! And thermite! OBviously none of you have even bothered to look up what goes into a thermite reaction. Hang on to yourselves, but no high-tech welding or explosiveas are neccesary. Only rust (iron oxide), aluminum, and the presence of a heat source hot enough to act as the catalyst or fuse!
Many thermite reactions are set off every year completely by accident. THey are recorded to have been the cause of intense burns over a quarter second explosion simply by something as low-tech as a home grinder spewing aluminum filing, followed by iron oxide filings and the spark of the grinding wheel. IOW, if their hadn't have been a thermite reaction recorded somewhere in the towers, towers made of essentially aluminum hanging off a steel skeloton, then that would be suspicious in and of itself.

There's simply no possible way to have pulled off timing/precision/execution without knowing EXACTLY when it was "scheduled" MONTHS IN ADVANCE, PERIOD! Dulles, WTC-security, changes to protocol, extra aircraft, war-games, "right" managers installed, INSURANCE, etc.,etc.,

The PDF is a formal "Request For Correction", with legally-binding consequences. Jones (physics, inertia), Ryan (UL,steel), Gage (AIA steel-frame Architect), two 911 families (standing), and their lawyer wrote it so as to make perfectly clear that a lack of forthcoming answers will (by implication) result in legal accountability. BTW, Josh will come along with exposure to the preponderance of FACTS, yet to be un-sensationally ordered/formatted/presented cohesively, except in the notable case above. Be thankful he's paying attention to 911 at all, among hundreds of serious progressive issues right now. I just wish he understood what a "king-pin" issue it is for nearly EVERY progressive cause!

Though it didn't specifically state that a plane was to be hijacked, the Daily Yomiuri English edition in July or August of 2001, had an article warning that American interests and citizens living overseas were at a heightened risk of terrorist attack.

what's happening on Alternet, and damn, I can't believe how irrelevant this site looks!

Look, the physical evidence and the "demolition theories" are the easiest facets to mock and disregard, and the truthers hurt their cause focusing on these aspects, but there is a mountain of mainstream news stories and government documents that put together a case for not only government incompetence (which is your favorite theory), but obvious complicity by factions within several govermental bodies.

It takes an open mind and a lot of time (and, I admit a powerful BS filter) to find the real thread to follow to lead you through the maze of 9-11 "truth", but if you want to be honest, you'll do it before you publish another article attacking the easy targets instead of the strong case thats been made.

I left and took 5-8 hits a day to your site with me. (from multiple hitting during down-times at work), on the advice of several other disillusioned commentors.

The last straw surprised me.
It was when Joshua Holland, now "Senior Writer and Editor" bragged to someone, who had mentioned Information Clearing House among other websites which are less biased than Alternet about 9-11, that Alternet had more hits than both combined.
He even linked to a graph comparing the hits to the sites compared to Alternet.

I had an emotional reaction to this blatant, immature showing off, so I vowed to take away my 5-8 hits per day, and I have, save for this one time coming back to tell you why.

Also, I used to recommend Alternet to several people a month, in person and online, but now I pretend it doesn't exist!

So, you may not care about a few less hits and new readers, but for whatever my small boycott of your site is worth, I just wanted to tell you.

This information that the CIA was warned by the French about the attacks on 9/11 is irrelevant. The CIA already uncovered the names of three of the hijackers who took part in 9/11 on January 5, 2000 and deliberately hid this information from the FBI on at least 10 separate occasions, until August 30, 2001 when it was too late for the FBI to find these terrorists. They even were aware after November 2000 that Khalid al-Mihdhar and Nawaf al-Hazmi had been at the Kuala Lumpur al Qaeda planning meeting on January 5-8, 2000 with Khallad bin Attash, the mastermind of the Cole bombing, and continued to hide this information even from the FBI Cole investigators on 5 separate occasions, criminally obstructing the FBI Cole investigtation. They continued to deliberately hide this information from the FBI after April 2001, when they were getting numerous warnings of a huge al Qaeda attack inside of the US that would kill thousands of Americans, and even when knew that keeping this information secret (along with the fact that Hazmi, and probably Mihdhar were in the US and were going to take part in these attacks), would make it all but impossible for the FBI to prevent these attacks from taking place. Shown below is the title and text from the infamous intelligence briefing memo given to President Bush outlining Al Qaeda plans to strike within the United States. He received the memo one month before 9/11, on August 6, 2001.

"BIN LADIN DETERMINED TO STRIKE IN U.S."

Clandestine, foreign government and media reports indicate Bin Ladin since 1997 has wanted to conduct terrorist attacks in the U.S. Bin Ladin implied in television interviews in 1997 and 1998 that his followers would follow the example of World Trade Center bomber Ramzi Yousef and "bring the fighting to America."

After U.S. missile strikes on his base in Afghanistan in 1998, Bin Ladin told followers he wanted to retaliate in Washington, according to a ...(redacted portion) ... service. An Egyptian Islamic Jihad (EIJ) operative told an ... (redacted portion) ... service at the same time that Bin Ladin was planning to exploit the operatives access to the U.S. to mount a terrorist strike.

The millennium plotting in Canada in 1999 may have been part of Bin Ladin's first serious attempt to implement a terrorist strike in the U.S. Convicted plotter Ahmed Ressam told the FBI that he conceived the idea to attack Los Angeles International Airport himself, but that Bin Ladin lieutenant Abu Zubaydah encouraged him and helped facilitate the operation. Ressam also said that in 1998 Abu Zubaydah was planning his own U.S. attack.

Although Bin Ladin has not succeeded, his attacks against the US Embassies in Kenya and Tanzania in 1998 demonstrate that he prepares operations years in advance and is not deterred by setbacks. Bin Ladin associates surveilled our Embassies in Nairobi and Dar es Salaam as early as 1993, and some members of the Nairobi cell planning the bombings were arrested and deported in 1997.

Al-Qaida members -- including some who are U.S. citizens -- have resided in or traveled to the U.S. for years, and the group apparently maintains a support structure that could aid attacks. Two al-Qaida members found guilty in the conspiracy to bomb our Embassies in East Africa were US citizens, and a senior EIJ member lived in California in the mid-1990s.

A clandestine source said in 1998 that a Bin Ladin cell in New York was recruiting Muslim-American youth for attacks. We have not been able to corroborate some of the more sensational threat reporting, such as that from a ... (redacted portion) ... service in 1998 saying that Bin Ladin wanted to hijack a U.S. aircraft to gain the release of "Blind Shaykh" Umar Abd al-Rahman and other US-held extremists.

Nevertheless, FBI information since that time indicates patterns of suspicious activity in this country consistent with preparations for hijackings or other types of attacks, including recent surveillance of federal buildings in New York.

Before the intelligence memo was declassified, Condi Rice, then Shrub's National Security Adviser, characterized it to reporters as a “historical” document and “not threat reporting.”

She made the same claim under oath to 9/11 Commissioners Ben-Veniste and Roemer.

Later, after the White House published a redacted version of the memo, Condi still refused to admit what the title stated, that Osama intended to strike America.

Forget impeachment. Bush and his treasonous neocon cabal belong in Leavenworth, not Washington. Better yet, standing in front of a federal firing squad.

Sure fits a pattern. Bushit and his administration have a pattern of condemning and destroying those who disagree with him-even (and especially) when they have the facts to prove he was in error. (I can't even think of a time Bushit was right.) I have been suspicious about those behind the destruction of the WTC, and stay that way. Who profitted from it? Only one answer i can think of.

The King Pin phrase jumped out at me from Channings post above. Not just that King Pin refers to 911 as a king pin political issue but that 911 is a king pin psychological issue. I am not an expert on 911 truth by any means but I've read enough to know for myself that it was an inside job lock, stock and barrel. 911 separates those psychologically who can from those who cannot tolerate truth, in my opinion. It takes a massive amount of psychological denial and obfuscation to avoid the truth of 911. After doing a reasonable amount of personal investigation there comes a point when a person can either see the truth or avoids it for various psychological reasons. I commend the 911 truth advocates who stand firm and keep speaking the truth. They are like an arrow piercing through the darkness of ignorance and deceit. I believe someday they will prevail as Channing and so many others believe. Even Josh will have to acknowledge the true facts if he is honest. The same with Alternet if it has integrity. The truth will out. The Red Brown Blue party is in agreement with the 911 truth movement. 911 is the King Pin that will bring down the house of lies, I hope and pray. It will be a glorious day for the red hearted, brown skinned and blue clothed earth people.

Under the most rosy of withdrawal plans, a million people will have been killed in Iraq and Afghanistan before we withdraw from those messes, created by the same irational obsession with 911 that so many people on this discussion board validate and enable. Heck, we've probably already exceeded that number long ago.

Please, PLEASE shut up about 911. It was a paper cut compared to what we have inflicted on innocent people in the Middle East in misguided retribution. You will NEVER prove that George Bush ordered it, but we KNOW that he ordered the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars. It is time to stop licking those wounds long enough for them to heal, and for us to begin the process of reconciliation for our hyper-nationalist persecution complex.

While so many people are debating, sometimes civilly, more often not, about the REAL reason for the collapse of WTC North & South towers as well as WTC # 7, the fact is that the bush regime wanted NO investigation at all to take place, and in fact, had evidence such as steel girders removed from the crime scene before FEMA could get there and conduct its own investigation. This was in direct violation of the law. Only after a long and protracted demand for an investigation did the "administration" reluctantly agree to a (sham) investigation with bushie stooges going through the motions. The resulting 9/11 Commission Report is so much ass wipe. If there were nothing to cover up, why the stall, the farcial inquest, and the unlawful removal of crime scene evidence? Never mind the mechanics of the collapse of the three structures, the fact that the bushies wanted this all hushed up should ring alarm bells in the minds of even the most obtuse bush ass kissers.
