According to Lawrence Wilkerson, a former aid to Colin Powell, Cheney told a moderate, pre-Ahmadinejad Iran, to take their proposal and shove it when they offered "to help the United States stabilize Iraq and end its military support for Hezbollah and Hamas." (video coming soon...)

He said he "wouldn't talk to evil."

In a heated post, Juan Cole lays out the basic structure behind the rise of a more radical Iran as the direct result of American refusals to help the reformist president, Mohammad Khatami.

Calling Cheney "the most fascistic high official in US government in history," Cole points out that it was the Cheney office that not only refused this overture (which would've created a far, far safer world) but also outed our own CIA agent working to gain knowledge of Iran's possible nuclear ambitions.

I think "traitor" is a fair and balanced term for him. Cole thinks so:

Cheney is the much bigger threat to the integrity of the US constitution than any foreign force. He should be impeached. If lying about a tawdry affair that did not even get to third base is grounds for impeachment, then lying us into a war, slapping Iran's overtures away and setting the stage for another war, and outing a CIA operative certainly are.

It had been abundantly clear for more than 5 years Cheney has been behind most of the horrible things that have happened during this administration of monsters and yet he is still there... Gloating! How can this be that no one has even lifted a finger in the direction of this anti-christ?

Iran will be stopped, Cheney vows to Israeli lobbyists

Vice President Dick Cheney has vowed unshakeable solidarity with Israel, and condemned the new Palestinian government.

Cheney made it clear Iran would not be allowed to have a nuclear weapon, described the Iranian regime as "irresponsible," and warned the United States had "all options on the table."

"The Iranian regime needs to know that if it stays on its present course, the international community is prepared to impose meaningful consequences," he said.

Cheney was addresing 5,000 pro-Israel activists from all 50 states Monday who gathered in Washington, D.C., to attend the two-day Annual Policy Conference of AIPAC, America's pro-Israel lobbyist organization, which began Sunday. The focus of the conference was "the urgency of stopping Iran from developing nuclear weapons and isolating the Palestinian government...

After reading a little history, I keep hoping that Cheney will go the way of Spiro Agnew - but I'm also sure that the oil cartels are lobbying every day for an invasion of Iran in order to push global oil prices past $100/barrel. Cheney will personally benefit from this via his investments in Halliburton and in major oil investment funds. (Vanguard holds at least $25 billion in major oil investments, and that's where Cheney keeps his milllions).

Make no mistake - Cheney is an evil bloodsucking black hole from which there is no escape, and Bush is just his stupid sock puppet: At the start of each of Bush’s bad ideas is Dick Cheney, Josh Marshall Jan 22 2007

State within a state

Cheney runs a parallel state within a state. He has his own bunker in a mountain top where he is often based. He runs his own networks throughout the defense and intelligence structures. He is the king of black ops. He knows where all the bodies are buried and he is very powerful because of this. And on top of this, he is an entrepreneur and has investments in everything that he does so his bank account goes 'chu ching' on each decision. Very clever - you have to admire the balls.

Dick Cheney has consistently proven himself to be amoral, greedy, dishonest; a psychopath.

This man cares about nothing but money. He doesn't give a shit about our national security or our health or the lives of foreigners or anything else, only enriching himself and his corporate partners in crime. Considering that, this news is hardly surprising. I expect Richard Bruce Cheney will go down in history as a national leader of the likes of Adolf Hitler, Bennito Mussolini, and Joseph Stalin. Hell, maybe even worse considering he's still busy doing evil all the time. Personally, I hate Cheney more than any and every other person/group/place/thing/god/etc. by far. The man is the spitting image of evil incarnate.

Much sooner than he or anyone else realizes. Along with the rest of his Nazi crew.

And will he ever be surprised... for about a second before he goes mad with all the terror he's inflicted on the rest of humanity. Not that the madness will help any.

Forever is a very long time.

We just voted in Demopublicans instead of the same old Republicans. Or maybe we voted in Republicrats. There's no real difference. Until We the People control the planks and the platforms made therefrom, we'll get the same thing over and over again, just sometimes wrapped in a nicer package. Shit wrapped in gold foil is still shit, though, people. Allow me to quote almost the first words out of Pelosi's mouth: "Impeachment is off the table."

On 9/11 as the buildings collapsed I felt Oh crap Cheney is behind this. I started reviewing Cheney's recent activities and it seems he was negotiating with the Taliban in 1998 or 99 for the oil pipelines that Halliburton wanted to run thru Afghanistan. The negotiations fell apart and then next thing we know Cheney is running for Vice President. He and Kissinger have been hanging around the fringes of government for 40 years or more ,waiting for the opportunity to be puppet masters again. They cultivated many powerful minions inside the military and intelligence communities and it now seems evident they have gotten away with mass murders and unjust war again. We do have a shadow government and as long as we deny it and let if fester it will have more members and increase in strength has become a generational being. Intimidation, fear and manipulation are it's strong suits and it know no party lines except the one's it has to cross. It was easy to infiltrate the Republican party for they can be focused easily Democrats are a little more unwieldy. It is highly compartmentalized and only a few know it's true objective which seems to be a form of world domination by default. Few in this country really appreciated the Machiavellian aspect of the game plan. Divide, unite, divide again and it works. They now have the world on the verge of massive debacle and they just will not stop. It's like the trucks in the 80's that said he with the most toys when he dies , wins. We need to out these bastards and let the light of day shine on all their accomplishments. But I fear it may be too late. Just like Nixon, we need congressional investigations now and watch the rats scramble. After Nixon they just bided their time and waited for Reagan, rebuilt their strengths and now we have them in the cat bird seat.We may have a start with the Libby trial.Let's just not let the pressure off. I know I am raving like a manic but then maybe it takes one manic to recognize a group of manics.
