This is the second set of excerpts from the American debut of "The Trial of Saddam Hussein We’ll Never See." The first can be found HERE. Digg this story so more people see it, HERE.
Officials of the Special Iraqi Tribunal have announce that some 100 former Iraqi officials will be tried later this year for their part in what was Saddam’s most horrific slaughter: the killing of tens –possibly hundreds—of thousands of Shiites following their uprising in 1991.
In the lengthy AP report announcing those charges there was not a word of the complicity of President George W.H. Bush and American forces in that slaughter. That’s been typical of the American media all along.
The shameful tale of the 91 uprising was another segment of the documentary I did, with reporter Michel Despratx, for Canal + in France. It was later shown in several countries; never in the United States. It is also the theme of my new book “Web of Deceit: The History of Foreign Complicity in Iraq from Churchill to Kennedy to George W. Bush.”
To view part one of our segment on the 91 uprising click right.
To view part two—how the U.S. turned its back on the 91 uprising and helped Saddam to annihilate the Shiites—click the second frame right.
After you’ve viewed these segments, take another look at that AP dispatch.
If you want to encourage more people to view these excerpts, go to Youtube, rate the segments, add your comments, and–if you feel the extracts merit it–save them to your “favorites”.
