Iraqi blogger Riverbend on the dog and pony show of the Saddam verdict:

When All Else Fails… Execute the dictator. It’s that simple. When American troops are being killed by the dozen, when the country you are occupying is threatening to break up into smaller countries, when you have militias and death squads roaming the streets and you’ve put a group of Mullahs in power -- execute the dictator.
Or, try Cliff "Shrinker of Republican Talking Heads" Schecter in the clip to the right, tackling the Saddam snoozer and the election.

Schecter's opponent, Brad "Ken Doll" Blakeman, has an illustrious past as an organizer of one of the well-to-do Republican mobs that descended upon the Jewish (read: old Democratic) sections of Florida to pretend that "the people" didn't want a recount. Shortly after Bush took office, Blakeman was named "White House Director of Scheduling." Listen, as he sounds perfectly content letting Osama get away...

Dang, I hope he lands a good post for the schlock he slings here...

Digg!

Good segment, but I cannot stand to listen to that woman speak. How she got a job at the national level is beyond my point of conception.

A gallows for two?

Wouldn't it be cost effective to hang Bush for war crimes at the same time? There are now 1/2 million innocent Iraqi civilians dead because of Bush. " Gee, I bombed the wrong country? It was supposed to be Afganistan? Really?"

Side note: It seems to have been passed over in the American news agencies, that the "Bush family" has purchased a 98,000+ acre "ranch in...Paraguay?? I got that from the "Latina News Service". Didn't seem to raise an eyebrow here. Isn't Paraguay where all the high ranking Nazis fled? After a little research, I found out that Paraguay has no laws covering extraditon. Also an article the next day about one of Bush's airheaded (they have their fathers beady eyes) daughters went there on a mission for UNICEF? Yeah, right.
I have the links if anyone is interested.
Hanging bush would be too good for the weasle. He SHOULD be waterboarded and "interrogated" like his "military tribunal" suggests.
And THEN turn him over to an Islamic court. Bush is a slick twisted mess.
I'll even donate a rope, if there's an extra space.

... it is disgusting that Republicans keep saying they aren't given credit for anything.... though they keep ascribing EVERYTHING that is going wrong to a man who has been out of office for 6 years.

If you aren't willing to take responsibility for what YOU do, then why the hell should anyone give you any credit for the tiny number of good and/or semi-good things you do at an incredible cost??????????

Republicans want to talk about personal responsibility? Maybe they should try TAKING SOME FIRST!

The entire proceeding was a sham. It was a kangaroo court set up under U. S. direction with little if any semblance of due process for the sole purpose of show and conviction. There was also a timetable for the result. Of no little significance are the facts that as judges and counsel were killed or disqualified, the trial continued notwithstanding.

Had there been any intention to demonstrate the slightest degree of due process the trial would have been before the same tribunal that tried/is trying Milosovic(sp?) et al. But since he's our carion, we will conduct the show prior to his consumption--the same as we intend doing with all the detainees as now ratified by Congress.
