Ned Lamont's latest campaign ad once again features a young Joe Lieberman debating incumbent Lowell Weicker, a three-term Republican, back in 1988.

Lieberman says: "After 18 years, it's time for somebody new, it's time for a change." He also pledges to quit after three terms himself. Watch the ad, right.

Lieberman, who's running as a independent, and whose current lead relies on Republican votes, has said in the past that he'd caucus with the Democrats. At this point, according to Greg Sargent, he refuses to advocate for a Democratic victory:

Lieberman... was asked in an interview published today in the Hartford Courant whether America would be better off if his lifelong party took back the House. The Courant reports that Lieberman responded: "Uh, I haven't thought about that enough to give an answer."

Politicians Must Go!

The whole thing (re: the parties) is meaningless...Why should anyone have the right to dictate how we should live? Incedently, politicians never ask such obvious questions of the public such as, What concerns you? And they never try to explain things to us. But even if they did, that would not excuse them. They are all sime-bags and criminals...I can't believe our collective self-respect is as low as it appears; that we'll just say, "That's how it is." Slavery and Nazi's are also "just how it is"; so is immence courage and sacrifice -- I should remind everyone people who will suffer and die for what they believe are also, "Just how it is."

My message to politicians (and a question) is this: I didn't ask for any of you and I don't want any of you. I want to be able to make important desicions, desicions that effect my life (e.g. education, healthcare, "defense" etc) for myself! Will you let me do that?

out of sheer fascination, I don't want him to leave the political scene. he'll bring more needed uncertainty to all our lives, perhaps giving vent to the Cheney need to test out some of the cooler new tactical nukes on Iran (that earthquake-ravaged province over there would be a great place to start). after twenty years, joe already has a gutful of disdain for Connecticut voters, so why break-in a new guy. joe looks good, in a homey sort of way. he gives me homoerotic thoughts; I don't want this to stop. but most of all, he's single minded: joe will do anything to get elected. at a recent $1000/plate Joeraiser, I had to make good on a bet that he wouldn't chew-off his grandmother's leg. This guy's really good.
