It's a bird, it's a plane, it's a 10 week abortion!

You know how "pro-family" crusaders are always going on about gay pride parades and gay-themes books in schools and so forth, many of whom will even go so far as to say, "I don’t care what these people do in the privacy of their own homes," right before they launch into a discourse on how they're just not ready to talk to their kids about homosexuality yet? And how the same people will say approximately the same thing about comprehensive sex education programs? As if exposure to the mere existence of homosexuality, or condoms, or abortion will turn their kids into rabid, gay, pregnant revolutionaries?

As always, take this for what it's worth, since I've got no kids of my own, but I believe I'd be a lot more irritated by having to explain to an 8-year-old why there's a plane flying overhead trailing a picture of a carved up fetus than I would explaining what a rainbow flag means or where babies come from.

Delusions of Grandeur: Does McCain Think He Won Vietnam?
McCain is running as a military leader -- but he isn't one. And yet the myth of military leadership is the foundation of his claim to the presidency.

politely ask counter protestors at various reproductive rights rallies to cover their putrid signs out of respect for my children. They never do of course. I have two children - 7 and 4 - and I am appalled at what these pre-life folks use in place of political discourse.

I work at an abortion clinic and our protestors (3x/week) at least just use signs that say "This clinic does abortions" (actually good advertising for us) and "Jesus Loves You" (?!).

...old black-and-white photos of women who'd bled to death on motel room floors after botched abortions back in the Bad Old Days. Did you know that anti-abortion types are poo-pooing the notion of women dying horrible deaths from septic abortions, calling it propaganda, saying it hardly ever happened and that if they did die that way, they deserved it?
