In today's front page story on ABC's highly fictionalized 9/11 movie Sheldon Rampton uses some old information from ABC's own counterterrorism adviser Richard Clarke to refute bogus assertions.

Now, Richard Clarke himself has responded and Judd Legum has the goods.

  1. Contrary to the movie, no US military or CIA personnel were on the ground in Afghanistan and saw bin Laden.
  2. Contrary to the movie, the head of the Northern Alliance, Masood, was no where near the alleged bin Ladin camp and did not see UBL.
  3. Contrary to the movie, the CIA Director actually said that he could not recommend a strike on the camp because the information was single sourced and we would have no way to know if bin Laden was in the target area by the time a cruise missile hit it.

The movie attempts to pin 9/11 on Clinton but John Aravosis notes that Republicans blocked Clinton's "desperate" pleas for the power to stop terrorism back in 1996:

So Bill Clinton, rather than just breaking the law as Bush did... decided to go to the Republican congress in 1996 and ask them for increased authority to do more eavesdropping in order to stop the terrorists - stop September 11. Senior Republican Senator Orrin Hatch, one of the GOP's top picks for the Supreme Court and a GOP committee chair, objected.

I won't watch it, and besides

how pathetic that we can't see some of the serious research, on unanswered questions and distorted "official" reports, on prime time. You know, what REALLY matters!! From this fact alone we know how serious the cover-up is, and how high the stakes are.

By the way if you look at www.st911.org (Scholars for 911 Truth) there's an amazingly detailed new scientific article posted, about the implosions. The work, by Gordon Ross, is apparently not even finished, but it's pretty impressive.

Remember, empire's fall -- just give this one a push.

ABC pushing the Bush party line, facts be damned. Anybody remember Pravda or Izvestia, the party mouthpieces for the bad ol' Soviet Union's corrupt leadership? Well, here we are, "Back In the USSR."

Hey! We can use the same letters! We'll just change the name from U.S.A. to USSR: "United States' Sold-out Republic."

(And, thanks to those eyebrows, with a little hair color and a fat suit we can even turn Bush into Brezhnev. What goes around comes around...)

I can understand some not wanting to watch it. I understand it is easier to harvest ostriches with their heads in the sand. Sometimes the truth just hurts too bad to bear. Stand by your man and ignore the truth. Oh, about all of these disputes: I understand the Path to 9/11 cites actual sources (I did not see where the author of this response cited ANY source for reputiating this information). Sad, some people even ignore THOUSANDS of eye witnesses saying no planes ever flew into the Twin Towers. I put them all in the same category as those who say there was no Holocaust. I wish you peace!

Do watch this trash. Make a list of advertisers and let them know you will not buy their shit for supporting a broadcaster who knowingly presents lies. Hit them hard in the pocketbook. Be sure to copy ABC.

Five million letters on ABC's desks

"Not watching" the 9/11 docudrama is an ineffectual way to counter ABC's airing of the program. Those of us outraged by their blatant bias need to make ourselves heard by the network and its affiliates.

I've composed a letter to my local ABC affiliate, saying this: "I used to watch Peter Jennings, as I thought he was the only truth teller of the Big Three network news anchors. After his death, I still gave ABC the benefit of the doubt in getting their facts straight and reporting the news, as opposed to acting as yet one more sounding board for an unethical and deceitful administration, as do most news organizations these days. But with the airing of your "docudrama" on 9/11 which reportedly contains numerous deceitful and misleading "facts," it is clear that the last bastion of truth in mainstream TV has succumbed to the machine that owns the rest of them. With the airing of this show, ABC will have crossed the line from entertainment into propaganda, and will only serve to frighten, rather than educate, viewers who are voters. I have stopped watching ABC as of this moment, for news or for any other program, and am pledging to get other viewers to do the same."

Then I'm going to print it out, put it in an envelope, stamp it, and mail it to my local ABC affiliate, whose address is in my local phone book. If a few million people would join me in burying the programmers at the TV stations around the country with their complaints and then enact a viewing boycott, our weight would be felt much more solidly than if we simply "don't watch."
