Forget about all the silly syntax, queer speaking style, idiotic mistakes and terrible decisions. Here's why Bush is a failure: he doesn't know s*** about winning hearts and minds.

Domestic or foreign.

While New Orleans languishes nearly a year after Katrina, Nasrallah has already begun to assist Lebanese residents in reconstruction:

Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah's grand promises to rebuild Lebanon began to materialize at Shahed High School yesterday, in the form of neat packs of $12,000 in US dollars handed without ceremony to people displaced from their homes.

"I like Hezbollah more and more," said Riyadh Nasser, 53, as he waited in a south Beirut suburb for the money from the Shi'ite Islamist movement. The money is meant to pay for a year's rent and new furniture, until his original home can be rebuilt.

Now, let's be honest here. I'm not sure what Nasrallah's actual level of concern for individuals is and I don't much care. The reality of what's going on is summed up in Riyadh Nasser's statement: "I like Hezbollah more and more."

While Bush controls the wealthiest and most powerful country on Earth he still can't understand what makes people tick -- his inability to understand why protesters in Iraq would be less than happy with the U.S. right now.

In Iraq look at security, electricity, unemployment, lack of housing, schools, clean water etc, and you understand why the Bush/Cheney doctrine is a failure. You understand why Hamas controls Palestine. People like those who help them. Period.

Bush wouldn't know a heart or mind if it bit him in the buttocks. Or is it just that he thinks that brown hearts and minds work differently? (SouthernStudies)

Digg!

American Shame

If you caught Spike Lee's remarkable documentary, "When the Levees Broke: A Requiem in Four Acts", on HBO the past two nights, then your disgust with the Bush Administration, like mine, has risen to a new, unfortoheardof level!

What I would like to know know is what we, the average schmucks living in our warm, comfortable homes in middle-America, can do to help these poor people in New Orleans. It's all very fine for us to sit in front of our laptops, shake our heads and go "tsk, tsk, tsk!" at the arrogance and sheer incompetance of this embarassing little man in the Oval Office, but those poor people in New Orleans are dying--physically, spiritually and emotionally--as I sit here typing this. Hezbollah is handing out packets of hard American cash to the people whose lives were destroyed in Lebanon while the poor people of New Orleans--who have been through far worse--are still waiting, waiting, waiting!

The time for Bush-bashing is over--the man isn't going to do anything, he obviously has no shame! The time for a grass roots response to New Orleans is now. But what can we do? I feel so helpless! Anybody got any suggestions?

Unfortunately. American soldiers or at least, too many of them believe they are fighting for America when in reality, they are murdering innocents and being murdered by the same to the delight of the KILLER BUSH who wants perennial war. We need diplomats within our military to communicate with Hezbullah diplomats to agree to stop killing each other. Bush only wants one thing, PERENNIAL WAR ON PHONY TERRORISTS WHEN WE KNOW THE REAL KILLERS ARE IN THE W.H.
