Throw the Jew down the well

Below is one of my favorite Ali G videos (after the jump).

In a brilliant performance piece, Borat the Kazakhstani infiltrates a redneck club and leads the clientele in a sing along to "Throw the Jew Down the Well."

I'm resurrecting it in the wake of the disturbing case of the Dobrich's, a Jewish family run out of their Delaware home for opposing prayer in their Indian Hill School District meetings and aggressive proselytizing in their child's school.

From a Center for Reclaiming America for Christ story:

For years, the Indian River School District (IRSD) Board of Education of Sussex County, Delaware, has opened with an invocation. Recently, they received a threatening letter from the Delaware chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) demanding that they discontinue their tradition of prayer.

At the meeting in 2004, when the board was to decide on a new prayer policy, the Dobrich's son, 6th-grader, Alexander, accompanied by a state trooper, stood to read a statement. The crowd yelled: "take your yarmulke off!"

"His statement, read by Samantha, confided 'I feel bad when kids in my class call me Jew boy.'"

There's more, much more. Including, what sounds to me like Christian terrorist threats.

The Jihadists at Stop the ACLU, led by Nedd Kareiva, published the names, addresses and phone numbers of the Dobrich family "as part of [their] 'Expose ACLU Plaintiffs' project," according to Jesus' General.

The bright side is, like most bigoted fools, they're not too big on factual information. As in: the Dobrich's weren't represented by the ACLU. According to Richard Bartholomew: "the ACLU has given the family some support, but they are in fact being represented by a Wilmington law firm." But, to paraphrase a possible future comment by Stephen Colbert: "the cause is ACLU-esque -- and that's the point."

Unfortunately, their fact-challenged campaign aside, the Stop the ACLU (and things that resemble it)-ers were successful in running the Dobrich's out of town using their interweb style pitchforks and torches.

For me, a Jew, in order to avoid sinking into the morass completely...

...I need humor. For that, there's Jesus' General.

Please allow me to be the first to thank you and the staff of Stop The ACLU for all you did to make the Indian River Pogrom such a resounding success. It isn't easy to run a Jewish family out of town in these politically correct times. Usually, they just hunker down, hiding behind antiquated interpretations of the Constitution and the good will of those who wrongly believe that non-Christians are entitled to all of the benefits of citizenship.

Apparently, Nedd Kareiva has responded: "Pogrom? I'm not sure I want to call it that. That is not an appropriate term, however, I am pleased that we had an effect in this case."

Pogrom (from Russian: погром; from "громить" IPA: [grʌˈmitʲ]- to wreak havoc, to demolish violently) is a form of riot, a massive violent attack on a particular group; ethnic, religious or other, primarily characterized by destruction of their environment (homes, businesses, religious centers).

Nedd is right, nobody was demolished violently. Glad he wasn't thrown off his game by this term.

This is not about separation of church and state. The issue of prayer in schools has been in the courts for a long time and a daily invocation has been prohibited in public schools long ago. This is not about the ACLU, since they cannot do anything unless it is agreed to by the courts.

This is about the American Constitution. And it’s about leadership in the Capitol that models disregard of the Constitution, defiance of the courts, and ruthless war on the American Dream of social change without violence. Most of my life that pattern has described the racism that is a hangover from the days of slavery.

How many civil wars must we suffer before those who seceed from the union get the message? How many American citizens must be abused by those who would be slave masters?

Remember “The King and I” lyric: “You’ve got to be taught to hate. You’ve got to be carefully taught.” We have reached a bottom when our elected leadership at the highest levels teaches us to hate. We are living through another time of American disgrace.

If anybody now believes we are not following in the footsteps of 1930's Germany, G-d bless them.
Every sane Jew should be looking over their shoulder. Along with African-Americans and Latinos!

Why Americans are viewed as intolerant and ignorant-- they were so welcoming of that nice gentleman from Kazakhstan, singing along with him and clapping time to the music. I think it's so wonderful when people can come together like that.

News flash: 1st all Arabs, then all Jews

Any Jewish person, whether in America or in Israel, who thinks that America going after Israel's current enemies is a good thing for Israel had better learn a lesson from history.

First an Empire gathers allies around it to attack their mutual enemies; once this is accomplished, that Empire turns on its allies and consumes them as well, in short order.

Israel is at the end of a very short line of Mideast countries with oil, and believing that the current Adminstration (or the secret one that extends all the way back to the end of WWII) is an ally would be the stupidest and most fatal judgment a country could ever make.

The government of the United States of Amerika is NO ONE'S FRIEND.

Not anymore. And won't be, for a very long time. It would take a CENTURY to undo the damage done by the war profiteers in power, or do even BEGIN to dismantle the military-corporate fascist grip on power.

Rest assured, if the US succeeds in taking over all the oil countries of the Mideast, Israel will only be last. And the treatment currently being meted out to other peoples of Mideast descent in America will follow to American Jews, no matter whether they are third, fourth, fifth, or sixth generation Americans or beyond. The kind of ugliness this article describes is only the beginning of a very familiar cycle, one the world has seen many times before.

Collaborators in the death camps only gained the privilege of being killed last.

If facts matter anymore, any reader will see that this is an invention in the minds of a couple people that didn't think much prior to sounding the phony alarm.

Yes I find this issue disgusting, and I am glad that this Jewish couple stood up for their rights. I suspect Alternet is carrying on a mis-information campaign: Was the issue the prayer or the content of the prayer?

Further, I would just like to point out that Jews their control of mass media have promoted their people even when this comes at the cost other peoples, be it Americans or Palestinians. Consequently I find my sympathy for this Jewish couple rather lacking.

Have Jews don't purchased the local paper yet? lol
