One of the best things about being a part of the progressive media is that if you don’t have time to personally slap down a lying piece of right-wing garbage, one of your talented colleagues will pick up the ball.

Many thanks to my friends Taylor Marsh and Barbara O'Brien for taking on Michelle Malkin, who crawled out from under her rock long enough to lie about the audience's reaction to a portion of Hillary Clinton's speech yesterday at the Take Back America conference.

According to cancer-on-journalism Malkin, she was posting video of "… Hillary getting booed as she asks progressives to support the troops."

Sounds bad, right? The only problem is, it didn’t happen.

Here's Barbara in a piece appropriately titled "Michelle Malkin is a shameless lying bitch."

Malkin says progressives booed Hillary because she asked them to support the troops. If you play the clip she linked to, you can hear people starting to boo when she talks about the troops — something to the effect that the troops are the best we have — but then the clip cuts off suddenly.
What Malkin cuts off is that people were shouting “BRING THEM HOME!”
They were not booing the troops. They were booing Hillary for not supporting the troops.
The always-sharp Taylor Marsh cooks Malkin on a low flame as she explains what really happened to her in a way so simple my eight-year-old son could understand -- even though Malkin knows damn good and well what actually happened.
There was "loud booing" after Hillary talked about it not being "smart strategy to set a date certain" to get out of Iraq.
Now, look at the part in bold again, Michelle. See it? It was almost impossible to hear Clinton.... WHY? Because of the booing that happened, why? Because Hillary said -- one more time with feeling, just for you, Michelle, and Hot Air, too -- it wouldn't be "smart strategy to set a date certain" to get out of Iraq.
The booing was so loud Hillary couldn't be heard.
What did Hillary then say AFTER THE BOOING ALREADY STARTED?
That's when she talked about the troops and our country.
Taylor also takes Malkin to task for doing the same thing Team Bush does almost every day: Using the troops to further her own political agenda.

Please go read Barbara and Taylor's posts. And that, should be the end of that -- at least until Malkin's next lie.
