Feingold: 'Bush [broke] the law'

Despite the chumpiness of CNN's Soledad O'Brien, Russ Feingold managed to get his point across, and to do it powerfully; that Bush broke the law and that he should be censured [VIDEO]:

Feingold: "There's no serious debate about whether the president was within the law here, he was not..."

O'Brien [cutting in]: "I've got to disagree with you here, there's a lot of debate..."

Here's the essential problem (apologies to those who've heard this 1,422 times before): A number of Republicans claiming that the sky is pink, and that it's laughable and partisan to claim different, is not debate. Debate is when you've checked the facts and found that something is true.

Georgia10 writes: "... almost EVERY SINGLE legal scholar agrees with Feingold that the legal issue here is already resolved: the President broke the law, and you don't need an investigation to prove that. He admitted it."

Soledad: head, ass, keep them separate please.

For those (like me) whose esteem for Democrats is not terribly high, here's an excerpt from Feingold's remarks on the Floor:

"The President authorized an illegal program to spy on American citizens on American soil, and then misled Congress and the public about the existence and legality of that program. It is up to this body to reaffirm the rule of law by condemning the President’s actions."

What the hell was that? I saw the whole clip on C&L. I've never watched her before, is she always that ridiculous? God for Feingold, though, he didn't take any of her shit.

but you could see the obvious stance she was taking. Thus..
she just reinforced my thoughts on how biased all news media are.If not biased...then real cowards for not asking the
sort of questions we citizens want to hear.I remember an interview John Kerry gave to Katie Kuric (spell)before the last elections...she was the same way with Kerry.
These anchors are as spineless as most of our legislators.
Afraid for their jobs.Afraid of losing their staus.Afraid of not making top dollar.Afraid of being shunned by high society.
Result? We the people continue being bamboozled by our masters. If CNN really wants ratings....if CNN really wants viewership....then start digging for the real story folks! Its out
there! Big!! REAL BIG!!!!

Please, Soledad, do your puff-piece "news" and giggle thru the morning program as though you just inhaled nitrous oxide. That's your m.o., so stick with it.

Senator Feingold's interview with Soledad O'Brien illustrates a typical problem (as I see it, at any rate) with Democrats--or anyone--trying to call President Bush on his egregious, breaking or flouting of the law; namely that there are so many shills out there towing the party line that you have to be somehow louder, shriller than they are.

Though I know to appear angry (or to show any emotion of any kind, to be honest) would be to play into the hands of puppets like Mrs. O'Brien, who must have had the script for that interview vetted by Ken Melman (or perhaps Roger Ailes).

Senator Feingold took the right path in the interview about his Censure motion, though it was a most painful interview to watch because his decorum barely shield enough against Mrs. O'Brien, who clearly was trying to trap the Senator, and who acted as an echo chamber for Republican interests, as if repeating something Senator Frist says makes it true just because he says it.

If you have a little time please go to "The National Alliance" web site and find the article titled "Who Rules America" Give it a read and see if perhaps this helps to connect the dots on why you can't get the truth out of mainstream media..

If anyone thinks CNN is honest and reports the news with an unbiased eye, they are living in a dream world. The producers of this network are always narrowing and editing the flow to support the right wing. Soledad, please, shallow and a sensationalist, she is a perfect example of the depths this network has plunged to after the buyout of Ted Turner and a damn shame. Producers that push the fear monger button daily and when some mentions they might be railroading the news they always cop out with a excuse like, Trust us, just like the Bush government on with the agenda

Boycott CNN

I'd like to propose a boycott, and very loud public protests against CNN and similarly guilty mainstream media, for their obvious subjugation to the current occupants of the White House. I'm not a professional activist, and I don't even live in the US anymore (I left it for Spain(!), and I'm currently preparing works in Argentina, for an extensive anti-right solo exhibition which will tour Latin American museums in 2007). So, I'm not sure where to start, beyond our exchanges here, in the alternative media realm. Anyone got any suggestions? (Brilliant ideas!?) Steven Wanzell, artist/activist, www.wanzellarts.com.ar

Lou Dobbs coverage

I watched Lou's coverage of Feingold's on the floor speech to announce the bill for censure. Lou's comment was "Where are the other Democrats on this? Is anyone going to back this man's proposal up or not?" So, not all of CNN's anchors are Bushites.

I don't know of Lou can counter balance the other CNN anchors or not, but I think he is giving it a good try. I don't watch any of the other CNN anchors because I think they are stuck in the muck the Bushites keep pushing on the public and MSM.
