On this one count, lapdog Blair reportedly talked master Bush out of a possible violation of the Geneva Conventions.

According to the latest leaked British memo, Bush wanted to bomb Al-Jazeerah but was talked down by Blair. Paul Schmelzer writes: "[this] means, the president wanted to bomb an independent media outlet in Doha, the capital city of Qatar, a key ally of the coalition."

Ally or not, targeting any civilian institution, like the media (state run or not), is a violation of the Geneva Convention and thus, a war crime. But it didn't happen, you say?

That didn't happen, but former British Defence Minister Peter Kilfoyle explains why releasing the memo remains crucial:

"If it was the case that President Bush wanted to bomb Al-Jazeera in what is after all a friendly country, it speaks volumes and raises questions about subsequent attacks that took place on the press that wasn't embedded with coalition forces."

I didn't think it was possible for me to be any more appalled by the Bush Adminstration, or George W. Bush specifically. Surprise - now I am!!

Assuming this is true (and there doesn't appear to be any reason to doubt it), this could be the most disturbing, most appalling, most defenseless act in a gigantic list of disturbing, appalling, defenseless acts. I know others would probably say nothing is worse than the tens of thousands of Iraqi civilian deaths, but Bush can hide from the blame for his atrocities in Iraq by claiming that civilians killed by our military actions were "unintended collateral damage."

With this act, which thankfully never happened, we're talking about ordering a bombing of a specifically civilian target, in a country not involved with this war and nowhere near the theater of operations.

To me, this is an impeachable offense - not that there's any lack of those to begin with.

Hey Daddy was guilty too. Not only of War Crimes in Desert Storm and Central America, but of Treason when he was VP under Reagan. OUR Bush provided false and/or misleading information to Congress and the U.N. He LIED!!! He also Construded
information on 9/11 so as to provide an enemy, that never claimed responsibility only support for the 'attack',to a fearful nation. To gain the use of the Nation's arsenal to wage an illegal war against an enemy that was less of a threat and more of a vendetta.
Slightly less than half of us living today remember the truth.
The truth that this govt, regardless of whom was the party in power, 'made' the enemies we now fight 35 years ago. Back then they were our 'allies' against the spread of 'communism'.
We trained and 'embedded' Qadaffe, Noriega, The Sha of Iran,Saddam's cabinet, and Bin Ladin. Well trained heelhounds that snap when they are told. If you don't believe that, ask yourself this; " If the families of some looney that just ordered and bombed one of your skyscrapers, would you make sure their's was the only flight allowed in the sky?
GEORGE DID.
Would you do 'biznuss' with a country that most of the 'killers'
supposedly came from?
GEORGE DOES.
Would you sacrifice you children for greed and plunder?
GEORGE WILL.
We the People have to take OUR Govt to the World Court for crimes against Humanity.
That's the only way The People of the United States can regain
the Respect and Dignity we've lost at the hands of the Beast.

shocked. Those of you who have read my posts know that I am a Namvet. I have stated things that are as blatent as the nose on your face. But again I must say: IMPEACH these worthless excuses for human beings. george halibush is beyond the definition of an idiot and moron. He is indeed a war criminal of the highest order, along with the rest of his cabinet and advisors. As I've said before...they should be brought to justice and then hung in the public square. We need to prove to not only us here in the USA, but to the world that we are not part of this fucking idiot's war or policies. I am ashamed to be an American at this point, and I never thought that I would ever say that. We must rid ourselves of these vermin before martial law does indeed become an unfortunate reality...then what?
