O'Reilly Warns of a Coming 'Tax Revolt': 'Pelosi Will be Bobbing Up and Down in the Boston Harbor'

Posted by Alex Seitz-Wald, Think Progress at 3:40 PM on November 16, 2009.

This statement appeared to be too much, even for Glenn Beck, who replied, "Uh, I don't think that's necessary.

Glenn Beck had Fox News host Bill O'Reilly on his radio show today to promote their upcoming "Bold & Fresh Tour," which will take the two right-wing personalities around the country to preach "the truth -- straight up, whether you like it or not." When Beck brought up Dennis Miller's appearance on the O’Reilly Factor last week -- in which Miller warned of a coming "insurrection" -- O'Reilly predicted a "tax revolt" that will "get nasty" and end up with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) "bobbing up and down in the Boston Harbor."

BECK: Last week, I head you say that -- you were on with Dennis Miller. … You two were talking about an insurrection coming.

O’REILLY: Tax revolt.

BECK: He used the word insurrection. And not in a comedic way.

O’REILLY: Yeah, tax revolt. I think people, when they figure out how badly they're going to get hurt in the next few years, there's going to be a tea party on taxes and its gonna get nasty. Nancy Pelosi's going to be bobbing up and down in the Boston Harbor.

This statement appeared to be too much for Beck even, who replied, "Uh, I don't think that's necessary." Listen here:

Pelosi in Boston Harbor - ok - but thats too good for her! Maybe jail for lying to the people, abusing her power, using her position to further her off shore businesses..etc..etc...

B and O are stinking up the airwaves like a couple of Limburger cheese chunks. Suggesting that Pelosi will be dead in the river is typical of the hate and stupidity spewing from their vacuous heads. Drivel sells. Look at the ratings. Smear campaigns feel good to those with no brains.

A tax revolt, yes...
In a country where citizens, rich and poor alike, pay less in taxes than ANY other industrialized nation?

And what do we have to show for it?
A shittier everything.
Unobtainable private healthcare.
Shorter life expectancies.
Lower standards of living.
Poll-confirmed lower levels of happiness overall.
The list goes on.

After Obama just passed a big tax CUT for the middle class, I find it funny that right-wingers keep claiming that people are going to rebel against taxes.

George Bush senior raised taxes on people. Yet no one seems to remember that.

Apparently, a democrat in the office merits chants of "hell no, we won't pay," regardless of whether or not that democrat raises taxes.

You were more than happy to go to war, not stopping to consider that you need to raise taxes in order to do so. The only conceivable reason I can think of to stage a tax revolt at ALL is because you have moral objections to having your tax dollars fund two illegal wars, and a military budget of world-conquest proportions.

Not to mention, the only people who WOULD stage a tax revolt would be the rich. They pay less in taxes than we do, and you know, they're just really suffering up there. Those mansions get so cold and lonely and dirty. Those yachts get so rusty. Those private planes get so uncomfortable. Those items need repairs and maintenance. How are they supposed to afford it if you tax them AS much money as a middle class person? I had to cut down my staff of twenty maids to fifteen! Outrage!

If you really want to get Pelosi, put her on MSNBC and CNN in an orange jumpsuit, handcuffs, leg irons, and no makeup while being escorted into a federal courthouse. Now that's a picture I'd love to see!

those who have posted here seem to think that an open revolt in this nation is acceptable? That it is acceptable to put the Speaker of the House of Representatives in a potential drowning, if not outright murder, situation? That the duly, and legally, elected government of this nation should be revolted against? YOU CALL THIS DEMOCRACY!?! Incredible!

I thought that George W. Bush and Richard Cheney and their cohorts were the most dangerous people on this planet. I still do, but not once, not once in 8 years, did I call for the overthrow of the government of this nation or the death of any of its leaders at the hands of the mob! Not once - yet now that seems to be acceptable to some in the media and some who post here. That is about as un-American a thing to do as I can think of!

Comments like O'Reilly's are called sedition, and they have no place on the airwaves in our democracy. If he wants to express these sentiments privately, that is his right, but he is on the public airwaves, influences large numbers of people, and should know that the right words mean a great deal to some people. Even Glenn Beck, that right-wing idiot, knew what had been said and what it meant enough to challenge it.

Now these two clowns are going to take this on the road? After the crap of the Tea Party Express, these two are going to go out and tell people that supporting the duly elected government of this nation, which has not raised taxes on anyone I might add and certainly could not raise taxes without debate where the views of each elected Representative would be heard, is wrong and that they will be taxed "without representation" in hopes of creating another Boston Tea Party!

THESE TWO MEN ARE LIARS AND FOOLS, VERY DANGEROUS FOOLS!!!! There is not one person in this nation that does not have representation in our nation's capital, whether they admit it or not! In 2008, the MAJORITY of Americans voted in this Congress. In 2010 they will vote in another House of Representative and one-third of the Senate. This is called REPRESENTATIVE GOVERNMENT (the key word is "representative") in a democracy - the rule of the majority. If you do not like those who won, you do not preach overthrown the government - you vote in the next election to change your representative or senator. If you want your representative or senator to know what you want - contact him or her and express your feelings and thoughts. YOU DO NOT THREATEN TAX REVOLTS, INSURRECTION, OR PHYSICAL HARM TO THE LEADER OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES!!! That is not democracy - that is tyranny!

I am a true patriot - one who will fight for my country and Her well-being. I will tell my leaders when they are wrong and stand by them when they are right. I will defend their right to hold office because they were legally elected to such office. I will not stand by while the country I love is torn apart by those who have seen fit to destroy her from within. If this tour of O'Reilly and Beck comes to your town or city, please make sure that you turn out to call them on their lies and their treason. Make sure that you do not let these lies stand and these threats go unheeded.

I am an American. I will not let my country die because of liars and traitors in the pay of foreign corporate and media leaders, mega-corporations, or virulent, bigoted, religious fanatics and political extremists.

I am an American born and bred since my mother's Pilgrims ancestors first landed on this soil, and my immigrant Swedish great-grandparents on my father's side settled in Wisconsin. I love this country and I will defend her with my dying breath if that is what it takes. And, anyone here who thinks that this is not Patriotic because it means I support the elected government of my nation, then bring it on!

There will soon be a 21st Century American Revolution. Any piece of legislation
(RE: HR3962) enacted by Congress that mandates
fines and imprisonment against the American
people, calls for more than just Tea Parties or
Beck and O'Reilly on a 'truth' speaking tour.
The people of America are finally coming to their senses. It will take more than a couple of prominent T.V. pundits to place us all on full alert.

Where the hell is the Secret Service??? They should be sitting Mr. O'Reilly and Mr. Beck down for a "chat" about threatening Mrs.Pelosi, since the Constitutional line of succession places her as the third most powerful person in the country.

EMPIRE DESTRUCTION

1980 to 2007

20 YEARS OF 3 CONSERVATIVE PRESIDENTS
18 years Conservative Senate
12 years Conservative House
6 years Total Conservative Control

Redistribution of Finances to top 20%.

Folk! It is downhill slide for Middle Class.

FACTS---

1946--1% owned 30% of Total Wealth

1980—20%--a 33% decline due to Estate Tax and High Top Income Tax Rate.

thence cometh conservatism

1989-36%

80% Increase in 8 years of Reaganism

2007--20% owned 93% of Total non home Financal Wealth

80% owned equity in homes.

Most major corporations are owned by WALL STREET RICH MEN CASINO

Five Wall Street Banks own 75% of all Bank Deposits in America. 5.

Think that is not POWER???

In 8 years of Bush with 6 years of Total Control

THEY(wall street Rich) created a Net New Jobs of 3000 per month.

Why? That is NET. You take the new jobs created and subtract the ones sent to China, etc

3000! Wow! Bush took over after Clinton had created 237,000 Net New Jobs per month.

Clinton left Bush a spending of 1830 B Per Year.

Bush doubled it to 3600 B.

Bush inherited a 5500B Debt from Clinton. He took it to 11,500B

20 years of 3 conservative presidents did this horrible thing.

Took the Debt of less than 1000B after 200 years and added on 8000B.

In 2009 they are spinning big time to blame Obama for huge debt.

Conservatives will spend millions to coverup their Big Recession.

Much of that 8000B Debt add-on went to WALL STREET GAMBLERS.

The people do not know what has happened to them.

Right Wingers yell Rich Pay most of taxes.

Income Taxes!Yes! They have most of the Income.

Yet! Conservative transferred much of taxation from Rich to Middle Class. Reagan voiding REVENUE SHARING a disaster for Middle Class where taxes were transferred from Rich Income taxes to Middle Class in State and Local Taxes. It was by design.

It was a Designed Act of taxation transfer by Conservatives. In 2008 the Middle Class paid 30% of nominal Income in Federal-State-Local Taxes. Top 10% paid 30%.

Social Security Tax Increase in 1983 was designed to hit the Middle Class and ease on the rich.
Greenspan + Reagan. 6.2% Tax on Middle Class. One earns $50,000 pays 6.2%. Earns $1,000,00 pays 6.4%. Earns $10,000,000 pays 1/10th of 1%. By design to keep rich rich.

Destruction of S&Ls was deliberate act of wealth transfer from 400 local investors to individual Rich on Wall Street.

Key actor Michael Milkin became a Multiple Billionaire with income of 550 Million in one year from raiding S&L deposits (plus) for his Rich Corporate Raiders on Wall Street.

Raiders like Perelman and Ichan became multiple Billionaires.
Sweat of Brow? Ho Ho.

Bush I had to borrow 140 Billion on 40 year bonds to pay for the raids on S&L's by Wall Streeters.
140B creates many Billionaires and Millionaires. Depositors money was used by those Corporate Raiders and bankrupted the S&L then the government pay off to depositors by Federal Deposit Insurance created Debt for Middle Class.

RAPE OF MIDDLE CLASS 1980-2007

Same ideology gave us Great Depression now Great Recession.

It is not a Depression due to:

Democratic Social Safety Nets such as
Social Security and Medicare

Only the uninformed vote to send conservatives to Washington.

Some type of Revolt will take place in next decade.

Sounds like a toilet bowl cleaner.

I've always thought that many of the handlers for guys like this hate them like poison. Like some young downlinks at FUX, for instance, couldn't have stopped them before they made fools of themselves with "teabagging".

Whoever named this tour doesn't like these two very much. And if it was one or both of them, then they hate themselves as much as I surmise they do.
