SCROLL DOWN FOR VIDEO

Caught (dare we say it?) red-handed -- by those pinkos at The Daily Show -- falsifying a Hannity show report about last week's Tea Party rally on Capitol Hill, FOX News host Sean Hannity issued a grudging apology last night.

On the November 5 edition of his show, Hannity interviewed Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., who had convened a Capitol Hill rally of Tea Party activists to rail against health care and hate on the president that very day. I was there, and would estimate crowd to have been about 5,000. Not bad for a Thursday afternoon.

Not enough for Bachmann and Hannity, apparently. Bachmann claimed that between 20,000 - 45,000 for her three-hours-hate at the Capitol while Hannity showed as evidence footage from the 912 march -- a much larger event that drew about 70,000 -- passing it off as B-roll from the Thursday rally.

Someone on Jon Stewart's staff was watching Hannity that night. Busted! (And in a most delightful way -- see video below the jump).

Last night, Hannity issued a grudging apology. Here's the transcript, via The Brad Blog:

HANNITY: Finally tonight...Although it pains me to say this, Jon Stewart, Comedy Central - he was right.

Now, on his program last night he mentioned that we had played some incorrect video on this program last week while talking about the Republican Health Care rally on Capitol Hill.

He was correct, we screwed up - we aired some video of a rally in September, along with a video from the actual event. It was an inadvertent mistake, but a mistake nonetheless. So Mr. Stewart, you were right… we apologize… and by the way, I want to thank you, and all your writers, for watching.

VIDEO OF STEWART, HANNITY'S APOLOGY, AND HANNITY'S MISLEADING SEGMENT ALL AFTER THE JUMP.

Thanks Jon, public exposure and ridicule is the only thing that gets the attention of these right-wing zealots. Hannity is an evil little puke who lies every minute of every day without shame. The only reason he fessed up on this is because there was absolutely no wiggle room and he’s cagy enough to know that a cover-up would have exploded all over the place.

Wow.

How funny, in a simultaneously disgusting sort of way.

It's amazing how totally comfortable neocons are with lying about literally everything they say.

I actually started a Facebook group: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=207416352813 dedicated to bringing attention to the Hannity scandal. On the Discussions page I left instructions for filing an online complaint with the FCC (they have a category of complaint specifically for this kind of media bias). Hopefully with enough complaints the FCC might put pressure on Fox News to take some kind of action

Thanks to Jon and Colbert's truth squads for doing the dirty work for us. I would have to vomit constantly.

Rachel has run the story of the decade(this or next)on Hoekstra's terror campaign for guv at the sacrifice of US inteligence. Why not a follow up?

It's not like Michigan's peter is some novelty. As "state" legislator, he spopnsored ballot chicanary to define appeal of criminal(aka human right) "proceedings" of what etymological PhD H.I. Hyakawa noted as really an application in his '68 book "The Right Word."

Permission to question human rights arrogations is facially unconstitutional and has always successfully litmussed fascisms. Or, at least until the contract with AmeriKKKa and the yearings of MI's peter.

The economy ain't bad here if you are a "lawyer". We spent more on prisons before the property taxes took a dump.. THE CAPITOL COPS JUST TASER A HANDCUFFED MAN LAST NIGHT.

Alternet, please stay on this fruitous story.

Upper MI had it's own belch of of The Bush "v" gore on The Bart stupidity's last primary night. Think he is a representative? Think again. That night's coverage reported one GOP winner, only to then claim Karl Rove's when the moon disappeared.

Our prior guv was heard weeks later "no one knows who got the most votes." The might to life junta divas vehicled John Engler’s (Cheney without the girdle) first state, then national, ideations to close the last millenium. The latter enabled wholesale purging citizens off all public assistance. The word “car jacking” was then invented by our media over the next 12-18 months. We all love and hurt for families who lost to them.

Nevertheless, we all find inspiration and integrity from MI’s favorite sons and daughters. There are so few who don’t qualify. The heritage has been keeping it at least real. That won’t change.

Inadvertentently Dug Out of A September File For Current NEWS

That's the FOX Network's type of fair and balanced.

How inadvertent is digging out film footage of a story that happened two months ago and putting it together with the current date? Surely, you're kidding, Hannity, that's NOT inadvertent at all ---- Here you go again, trying to fool the "blockheads and dummies", the same "blockheads and dummies" that George H.W. Bush told Gorbachev followed whatever Reagan said.

I noticed right away that something was wrong, simply because the trees were still green (like they are in September), not brown, like they are now.

People with small mind's and Gargantuan ideas when all is said and done usually turnout as they did here in the original justification of the lie about event attendees, as really very sad individuals indeed.

Big ideas coupled with their limited capacity to tolerate other point's of view will only reach a fraction of critical mass because on lookers see "the man behind the curtain who IS propagating the hoax." People are quickly turned OFF by a speaker's exaggeration of otherwise insignificant "story fillers." In fact, most of us take that premise to the next step asking ourselves, "If he will lie to me about the minutia, then what lengths is he willing to go in the telling of material facts?

If, any of you have ever visited the Hannity.Con website you will notice that Chris Matthews and Nancy Pelosi are animated through the use of growing nose's, how Pinocchio-esque. The odd thing about picking those two out of the crowd to call liars is, they EACH abhor liar's so much that they themselves stick very closely to the facts of whatever matter.

Chris doesn't go for prevarication, I salute him for his decency.
