Honestly, I got all weepy watching these videos of dogs welcoming soldiers home after long deployments [from MentalFloss, via John Cole].

Look at the little nibblets jump!

Still dry-eyed, you heartless bastard? OK, good luck with the little children greeting their fathers!

We need to bring all these people home.

Digg!

For bringing the human side of this terrible war to us.

I am a Vietnam Vet of two tours(Ranger, airborne, LRRP, pathfinder, all that hardcore shit)and I have no shame in admitting I cried then I got mad. There is no reason for this pain in these kids world, there is enough waiting for them elsewhere, they don't need this shit. Bring ALL our brothers and sisters home from this mess.

Look at those niblets jumping indeed, ya big sook. ;-)

We need to bring all these people home.

Exactly. Whatever their own intentions, their presence there is not helping, and is probably hindering any possible improvement in a truly shitty situation. And those kids (and dogs!) would be much better off with their families whole.

but through my tears, sharing their happiness I thought of the many, too many families that will NEVER see their father, son, brother again or welcome them home shattered in body and mind.

Let's bring them home and get to work healing THIS country.

Blame Them

They tried to get rid of Saddam and then got Bushaloon who said "I will need a war to be a successful president"

PNAC formed by Bill Kristol with Imperialistic goals.

Primary Hebrews to protect Israel.

Die for Israel-Dodge Draft to serve America????

Kristol-Rumsfeld-Wolfowitz-Perle-Abrams-Libby-Feith etc

Nothing to do with 9-11 nothing -zero

How many Muslims must die for Israel??

1500 Million Muslims
14 million Hebrews

and take care of some business back here.

Let's start out by DEMANDING our government do the right thing with banking reform, credit reform, healthcare reform (and no, the recent health care bill passed is NOT it), and let's require public hearings on what happened with the economy. No more of this close-door bullshit as the cowards figure out how to find blame that does not include the political process and many of the politicians now in power.

The doggies were nice, but the kids got my waterworks going big-time.

I pray every day that we have more and more of these happy reunions until one day we're all out of unhappy separations. The sooner the better.

I remember these from when I was a child

My own dad (who administered the oath when I joined the military) was gone on WestPac cruises that lasted as long as eighteen months. Sometimes we'd get a treat as he talked to us on the phone through ham radio operators cooperating with the military. It was neat to have to say "over" when we were done speaking, and to realize that he was half a world away on an aircraft carrier. That was so long ago, we had to buy a special stamp to send a letter by "airmail."

No Joshua, you bastard, I wasn't dry eyed. And I know exactly what those kids felt, and what their fathers felt.

Ian
