Going Extreme: Demint Says Recruiting Electable Moderates "Doesn't Make Any Sense"

More GOP civil war:

[NRSC Chairman John] Cornyn has gambled much on finding and promoting centrists able to win Senate seats in swing states and even some Democratic redoubts. And he’s decided to do so even though those candidates in at least four states — California, Florida, Kentucky and Connecticut — must first compete in and win expensive and potentially divisive primaries, mainly against more socially and fiscally conservative candidates.

...

"He’s trying to find candidates who can win. I’m trying to find people who can help me change the Senate," said Jim DeMint of South Carolina, a leader of the conservative bloc. "To think we can grow the party by picking people who are more liberal and don’t share our core values doesn’t make any sense."

As kos said earlier this week about the urge to purge amongst teabaggers:

Maybe they've stumbled upon a brilliant "addition by subtraction" political formula that allows them to win more races by kicking everyone out of their party.  But I still like our approach better. And in the end, we have the majorities to prove it worked.

Maybe they will. But so far, the only stumbling they've done has been over the first Democratic victory in NY-23 since the Civil War.

Digg!

With the Demon-rats voting to repeal financial reform, their support of forcing everyone to buy private insurance, their extreme opposition to the Goldstone report and 100% support of Israel, and their support of the Usa Patriot Act, among other things, we have much to fear from the super-right-wing Repugnantcans actually getting into office, since liberal voters -- such as myself -- are going to stay home on election day.

Blood in the streets...

... and Sarah Palin's recent career choices, the republicans are more interested in changing our government and our way of life outside of our government... read: anti-democratically... because they just can't muster up the candidates or the policy to make people forget that all of our current problems were created specifically by them during their 6 year reign of total and complete failure.

The Dmocrats aren't really much better.. or at least they sure haven't proven themselves to be... but I would take them any day over the republicans.

Recently I heard the claim the Japanese wanted our military presence, not my understanding of the situation. Here is some evidence to counteract that concept,

NO BASE
NO WAR

Thousands of people have protested on the southern Japanese island of Okinawa demanding the removal of a US military base there.

The local mayor called on new Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama “to put an end to Okinawa’s burden and ordeal”.

Burden and ordeal, our soldiers rape their teenaged girls on a regular basis.

THAT is the international 'footprint' we are paying so much money to support. Burden and ordeal is right, how many years has that been going on there? What impact do you think it has on their community?
