Another Racist, Crazy Conservative Attack on Obama: Health Reform as Reparations

And you thought the birther nonsense was unbelievable.

An article proudly featured in the top spot of Fox Nation today pulls off the impressive feat of combining two seemingly unrelated Conservative pastimes -- battling the creation of a viable health care system and screeching about "reverse-racism" -- into one totally absurd, bizarre and racist attack on Obama.

"Reparations by way of health care reform?" asks the headline accusingly. A large picture of Obama, brow furrowed as he thoughtfully considers more ways to destroy Freedom and oppress white men, accompanies the headline.

Often Fox Nation writes headlines completely unrelated to the pieces they link to, in order to rile up their commenters and get clicks. But in this case, the piece really is as batshit insane as the headline suggests:

Still believe in post-racial politics? Read the health care bill. It's affirmative action on steroids, deciding everything from who becomes a doctor to who gets treatment on the basis of skin color.

President Obama is on the record as being officially opposed to reparations for slavery. But as with other issues, you have to sift through his eloquent rhetoric and go beyond the teleprompter to get at what he really means.

The piece goes on to reveal the shocking information that Obama opposes reperations because they don't go far enough. Gasp! Not, only that, but the First Black President's ploy to sneakily usher in something worse than reparations is to rig the new health care system to privilege African-Americans.

Of course, as has been pointed out 5 trillion times before, there is no such thing as an Obama health care "plan". While the President has aired his preferences, he has not put forth a set policy. And indeed, when the article digs into the legislation, it references (or misrepresents) something that actually exists -- the house bill, which has very little to do with Obama. Yet the piece nevertheless stokes racist fears about Obama personally instituting preferential treatment for blacks by way of health care reform.

This absurdity has already been aired by Glenn Beck. But is it being primed for full-on conservative meme status? Something just racist and fringe enough to pick up steam and be repeated, ad nauseum, by the wingnuts and eventually legitimized by reports in mainstream media? As if the health care debate needed to be degraded further.

Digg!

No--really.

These dancing pigs have broken new ground--going for the felony vote. Their new audience: skin-head nazi bigots who are so out of control they're incarcerated.

Because there aren't many people stupid enough to buy this one.

These people just don't quit. I don't understand Republicans, or whatever other name they decide to go by at the moment (I have a few of my own, but I think that I will let that go for now).

They want bi-partisanship, yet they or their proxies, proceed to attack the Democrats in the most blatantly obvious way possible.

Nothing is too vile, offensive, or low enough to try. They tend to spend so much of their time in the gutter that they stink of it.

This is an odd tact considering that some semblance of health care policy in this country will not only benefit their constituents, but industry as well.

It's also strange considering that it has contributed to them losing the White House, the Senate and the House of Representatives.

So what do they do? They up the BS quotient of their attacks.

Such an approach is akin to a child touching a hot stove. Normal children would tend to avoid it because it caused them pain.

Republicans notice that something is burning, feel the sting of heat, smell the burning of flesh, then decide to hang out awhile. And since they are already cooking (literally), they decide why not add some onions and garlic to the mix.

So that they can really stink things up.

Corporate puppetmasters rousing a rabble of wingnut footsoldiers

This is a fascinating thing to observe.... fascinating but frightening. I knew it was coming, only a matter of time before this implicit subtext was made explicit.
Let's follow the money here. We have voices being raised using words deliberately chosen to trigger a response in the most primitive parts of the brains of our most primitive citizens - and of course it works beautifully as always.
We see an army of angry, ignorant, bigoted, and violently inclined fools being manipulated and deliberately incited to violence. It happened with the religious right, in whose minds the link has been made between "abortionists" and health care reform.
We have heard these same media voices using inflamatory language in that arena, and subtly or not so subtly linking these two unrelated issues.
Now they are doing the same with health care reform and race. Playing on one of the most base instincts in human nature - the fear of the black bogeyman lurking ominously in the unlit alleys of the white man's subconscious. We cain't let them lazy niggras get health care from the sweat of hard workin' white folks, can we?
When i say army, I am speaking literally. The militia movement is seeing a huge resurgence in recruits, the religious right is growing more militant by the day, and the mutterings of a right wing revolution are growing louder. Incredibly enough, we see the mainstream media not only lending the wingnut element "credibility", not only not condemning them, BUT ACTUALLY EGGING THEM ON!
So who do these media voices belong to? Who is the master of these rabid hate inciting pit bulls? Who employs them and provides them with their nationally syndicated radio and television bullhorns? Who encourages this deliberately inflamatory language? Who is it who shows no scruples about stirring up a violent mob to back their cause when they see their stinking, corrupt profit machine threatened?
Who indeed.

Lethal Gene

Is there a lethal gene amongst the white Race which effects brain functions? No Really as a white female I am constantly proven wrong about the intellectual abilities of Whites.
Too much flouride in our 'burb water supply?
I try to give my fellow Caucasians the benefit of the doubt and relate their racism to low self esteem. But perhaps I'm being hasty-evidence is mounting they truely do have something to worry about if the 'field is leveled'.
Rational thinking- which includes Deductive and linear Reasoning- seems to elude my race in considerable numbers.
Let's see curently these idiots are worried Obama will Seize Kingly Powers- Gee isn't that what Cheney already did for the last 8 yrs?
Mesmerized by a single sheet of paper called a Birth certificate as the only determination of Presidential legitmacy, instead of those 'Dark clouds that loom over the VP's office',35 articles of impeachment and non stop revelations about what remained only within the Office of the VP.Not to mention his own admmissions of Abuse of powers.
This luncay is about the possiblity of prosecution for Cheney's illegitmate presidency, the Coupe he orchestrated during W's tenure. Repugs are terrified they will be implicated in their complicity. So throw doubt on the current Presidency's legitmacy instead.
Reparations for Slavery via healthcare is the diversion away from the fact Repug's have been rationing healthcare for decades. Granting all requests to deny service or coverage to anyone the Insurance Overlords deemed unworthy. Kristol admitted the average American does not deserve the same 'high standards' afforded our military or our gov't officials, or even our elderly (their voting base?).That's Rationing. Apparently in their Model you must EARN healthcare instead of it being an inalienable right. How cost effective, but Utterly UnAmerican. Rights and Freedoms in this country are granted to all at birth or upon citizenship, and not merely predicated on 'performance' or longevity. So isn't compensating or reimbursing Soldiers, Gov't officials and old people with taxpayer dollars for healthcare a form of 'Reparations', in and of itself?
Don't be stupid
We already have forms of 'socialized medicine'
We already have Rationing and reparations
We already have limitations in Docs and services
We already pay for the Uninsured.

We need the Fairness Doctrine back so these rascist fools like Hannity, OreillY, Savage, Rush~~must provide proof of their opinions. There is no penalty for LYING, and if there was half the country would be in jail. We should turn them off, stop buying their products, and turn our attention to the 60 democrats (many are repukers), and force them to address the issues of the citizens. Racism is alive and being stirred up by rascists in the GOP, whose corporate interests, campaign contributions outweign any good government cause.

Racist Attacks on Obama Growing More Heated, Going Mainstream

Above all others, the real celebrity here has been Rush Limbaugh. He's done this kind of thing before -- remember the "Barack, The Magic Negro" song? But in the wake of the Gates incident, he's managed to become even more hard-edged about it. "Here you have a black president trying to destroy a white policeman personal loans," Limbaugh declared this past Friday. Yesterday, he shared a dream he's had about the dangers to capitalism: "I had a dream that I was a slave building a sphinx in a desert that looked like Obama." And he joked that food-safety advocates will go after all the unhealthy foods people like to eat, one by one -- but they'll have to wait until Obama is out of office to ban Oreos.

• Glenn Beck said this today on Fox News: "This president real estate agents, I think, has exposed himself as a guy, over and over and over again, who has a deep-seated hatred for white people, or the white culture. I don't what it is. You can't sit in a pew with Jeremiah Wright for 20 years and not hear some of that stuff, and not have it wash over."

• During his new crusade of Birtherism, Lou Dobbs suggested on his radio show this past Wednesday, right before the Gates flare-up, that Obama could be an illegal immigrant, tying this into his usual preoccupation payday loans. "I'm starting to think we have a document issue," Dobbs said. "You suppose he's un-- no, I won't even use the word 'undocumented,' it wouldn't be right."

• As we reported last week, a high-profile conservative activist against Obama on health care was circulating an e-mail that photoshopped Obama's face onto a witch-doctor's body. This e-mail had been circulating before the Gates incident, but still fits into the overall environment of Obama's ratings having started to flag.
