CNN's Lou Dobbs Damage Control

CNN's Lou Dobbs has, by all appearances, gone mad. He now questions the citizenship status of the president on a daily basis, and tells his audience that he's a victim of a "liberal media" conspiracy.

CNN has taken to debunking its own host over and over again.

In the wake of Lou Dobbs' repeated claims on the July 15 edition of his radio show that President Obama needs to "produce a birth certificate" and that Obama's birth certificate posted online has "some issues," several of Dobbs' CNN colleagues as well as other members of the media have debunked Obama birth certificate theories, often ridiculing those who embrace such theories as "nut jobs" who advance "ludicrous" claims that are "more conspiratorial than factual." Indeed, according to the Los Angeles Times, CNN distanced itself from Dobbs' comments. Reporter James Rainey wrote: "[O]ne CNN employee reminded me several times that Dobbs' most pointed assertions were made on his radio program, which is unconnected to CNN."

Nonetheless, Dobbs has continued to repeat the "birther" claims on both CNN and his radio show, stating on the July 20 edition of his CNN program that the birth certificate questions offered by "passionate supporters" "won't go away because they haven't been dealt with, it seems possible to, straightforwardly and quickly," and saying on the July 21 edition of his CNN show, "We had people, including reporters from the LA Times, calling up because I referred to this. ... Instead of calling the White House to ask why they didn't do it, they're calling me to ask why I said I don't know what the reality is. No one does."

Additionally, on the July 21 edition of his radio show, Dobbs criticized "certain quarters of the national liberal media that are just absolutely trying to knock down the issue of President Obama's birth certificate," stating that they are "focused on being subservient and servile to this presidency rather than being inquisitive and doing their jobs with, you know, the White House."

The L.A .Times' James Rainey spoke to Brooks Jackson, director of Annenberg Political Fact Check and a reporter with 34 years in the business, including 20 at CNN. Jackson said, "CNN should be ashamed of itself for putting some of that stuff on the air."

Yes, it should. For all the network's efforts to characterize itself as the real, unbiased cable news outlet, it continues to give Lou Dobbs a high-profile platform for obvious, unsupported madness. It makes Dobbs look like a loon, but more important, it's a painful embarrassment to CNN.

A network spokesperson distanced CNN from Dobbs' crazed radio show, and told Rainey, "On CNN, Lou is an independent reporter who covers stories that people are talking about, and often showcases issues that aren't being covered by the mainstream media."

For a network that keeps giving very large paychecks to a television personality who is misleading its audience with transparent craziness, this explanation needs some work

Why should facts matter?

At this late date the facts are irrelevant to a good line of propaganda. It has been obvious for years that the powers in charge have control of official truth.

It is a measure of one's rationality as to how much time is wasted on what CNN, Dobbs or any of the corporate media has to say.

But what the article doesn't mention is that on his own program, Kitty Pilgrim was filling in for Lou and DEBUNKED THIS WHOLE THING! On his own show! Proved the birth certificate was legitimate and even showed the notices in two newspapers in Honolulu announcing Obama's birth!

He's lost his mind, and CNN needs to cut him loose!

He accused the President of being an illegal alien! He's nuts!

Substitute "Obama's birth certificate" with Bush's service record, Bush's drug use record, Bush's environmental record, Bush's outing of Valerie Plame, Bush's wars, etc... etc.. ad infinitum.

Gee... I wonder why Dobbs only because such a bastion of aggressive investigative journalism and constitutional details in the last 6 months or so.

"Armed and Dangerous" in Turbans or Baseball Caps- What's the Difference?
Posted by: Purple Girl on Jul 24, 2009 4:08 AM
Current rating: 4    [1 = poor; 5 = excellent]
How much Hispanic Blood has accumulated on Dobbs hands so Far? Is he now hoping to turn his psycho listeners on the POTUS?
These people are so Fucked up, a Major in OUR Armed Services has refused to return to duty. This idiots is so confused he thinks he serves the President- utterly ignorant of the Fact he Serves, protects and defends the People of the US First and Foremost. Ya Work for US, Dumbass!!! This Major hasn't just quit on the American People, He's rejected the very idea that they are all Public Servants in a Demcratic society- From the Pres to the Private.Kinda the way things are supposed to work in a Democracy! You're all nothing more than our Dept heads and staff!
The Left rejected the legitimacy of the '00 election, but we never had the undercurrent of Racism. Nor are the Left known for their ardent defense of the second amendment. So the potential for retribution were slim. In fact the Left laid the entire '9/11 conspiracy theory' on Bush; insinuated a World Domination plot, and even suspected Reptilian origins... but his personal safety was not considered ever in jeporady because of these conjectures.
Dobbs, BillO, Beck, Rush et al KNOW exactly who they are inciting and what they are instigating.History has been a cruel teacher and everyday the current headlines just re enforces that truth.
These Repug mouthpieces are not only endangering the life of this President, but our way of life. They are not talking about defending our country, but 'cleansing' it.Even have a US Representative encouraging citizens to become 'Armed and Dangerous'. How many modern countries have Militia patrolling the streets? Using them as their means of national defense? Sounds more like the 'law & order' workings of Somolia or Afghanistan.
Adding the religious fervor only soldifies my point. The Ideology of 'Guns and God' has been the plague of humanity.Reason our Founders separated those two out.The Church was never to become 'Armed and dangerous' in this country.
Don't waste your breath claiming to be a patriot if you have rebuked Our Lady Liberty's.."Give Me Your Tried, Your Poor, Your Huddled masses yearning to breath free..". If You relish the thought of Coupe. Think rouge meroding bands of armed men should be managing the streets. That religious doctrine supercedes the Democratic rule.As far as I'm concerned that sounds like a major step backwards for this 'Great Experiment'. Sounds a lot like the situation our Founders Freed US of and hoped to negate in the future. Gives me the picture of Afghanistan under the Taliban and AQ control- but instead of dark skin and turbans, it's white faces and baseball caps.
These people are not just endangering the life of our Highest Servant, they are proposing we give Up the 'Experiment' and return to the days of warring tribes,Religious persecution, and feudalism- All the'Best'times in the history of the human condition
That is not the Vision of Our Founders, (or mine),of and for this Country.

Yeah, Lou! CNN's lame excuse that Lou spouts the referenced bullshit on his radio show just won't fly: this came the same day the city councli of Ft.Myers, FL, fired one of its top employees for having married a woman who moonlights in(or used to work in)porn movies. HE was sacked because SHE had a job the council did not like?

If depriving someone of his income is that easy, then CNN should lead the charge by sacking Loud Lou. NOT for the bull he spouts on some radio show, but for the unubstantiated crap he has for years been spouting on CNN TV.

And how good they are at burying the facts....Annenberg (Fact Check) they conveniently forget to mention was one of the first organizations Obama worked for....it's supposed to be non-profit....kinda like ACORN.
Hawaii like some other states issues an "acknowledgment" of a birth and registers the infant in their state.....it doesn't mean that the "birth" occurred there....in fact that document is what is taken to paper to make an announcement officially...much later after the actual "event". As Dobbs tried to point out..it's a document pointing you to another document....it's like the registration on a car showing you as the owner...it's not the pink slip necessary for a legal transfer of title of that vehicle.

All Obama's boys have to do, is release an original copy of a legitimate birth certificate. We all have one, right?
All Americans have one anyway.

And, let's see his passport. That might help clear things up too. In fact, let's see both of his passports; one under Barrack and one under Barry. And, it might be interesting to see what country his first/original passport is from too?

For a man who promised "openess and transparency", his first 6 months have been a complete joke!

But if we don't talk to them, they'll go away. We don't have to talk to them if we don't read them.

I'm not talking about the people we can tell are real who disagree with a lot of people--many of those are my friends here.

I'm talking about paid shills posting about the President's birth certificate and other garbage that amounts to baby name calling. If you see the word "Barry" in a post, you're looking at one.

Christ, I've seen Barack O'Bama's birth certificate about ten times more than I've seen my own, and so has whoever is behind these creep identities who all write the same way, stroke each other and try to get under our collective skin.

I'm going to dig deep and borrow from the still-kicking Nancy Reagan, the Vivian Oblivion of our life and time, with a play on the slogan of the worst anti-drug program ever devised. The slogan for my new anti-troll program:

JUST SAY BLOW!

Last night I heard him say the certificate wasn't valid because it lacked the name of the hospital, physician's name, etc. So I looked at my (and my family member's) birth certificates.

Birth certificates DO NOT contain this information. Period.

No one is perfect...and Dobbs is stuck on his shadowed side. The only trouble with the man is that he is running out of shock for his program. He has lost many listners due to this. When Dobbs comes on now, I just switch channels for honest reporting. But, my main thought, after listening to Dobbs for some time before this, is, He is a racist. He does not like nor accept Obama as our President. He does not like, nor accept, those coming over our southern border. He is a racist.....He has had his day, JUST TURN HIM OFF.... In time, CNN will get the hint that Dobbs could be adopted by Fox.... That is if Fox is still there? I took Fox off my sets (the channel that is) months ago. Shit happens, but Fox keeps producing it daily. What a bunch of faggets. One does not need agitation as this.

Whatever you think of Dobbs the whole aversion of Obama not producing a real birth certificate just adds flames to the fire. I think he wants everyone to focus on such silly issues as this instead of his incredible record of broken promises and his uncanny ability to lie straight to the faces of Americans every day. Watch "The Obama Deception" by Alex Jones and your concerns won't be about Lou Dobbs or birth certificates. As for CNN being embarrassed think about 2 weeks of idolizing a freak pervert like he was Martin Luther King or George Washington.

citizen. It only matters that his mother was a bona fide U. S. citizen. Does Wichita Kansas qualify?

If Obama's mother was U. S. citizen, he could have been born anywhere on this earth and have access to U. S. citizenship. Memories are short. John McCain was born on base in Panama. If he had been born off base he would still have been a citizen.

If Lou Dobb's didn't serve as a diversion, don't you think CNN would have booted him long ago? His views, albeit way out, are so noisy they take the focus off what is important, they distract us, people! The media has a sly way of supporting looney, far-fetched ideas or commentary and then has the audacity to complain about them when there is public outcry. The same thing is going on with the Obama/Gates fiasco. This is all in the big plan of MSM. Be on guard and get back to paying attention.

Lou Dobbs has a personal agenda against the President. Going all the way back to early 08 when the President called him out personally on the campaign trail criticizing Dobbs' stance on immigration.

Warren Ballentine got Dobbs to admit that indeed it is personal with his attacks on the President. It is quite obvious because every since the President did call him out, he has had nothing but negative criticism of the President every since.

I used to respect Dobbs up until that point. I will only watch him when he has certain guest on who I know will set him straight!

came up over the elgibility of John McCain. I think maybe that they would have never even thought it up if they hadn't been trying to make McCain elgible. John was born in Panama. Does that make him native born? All agree it makes him a citizen.

The only case to come before the Supreme Court was in 1795. The question was not addressed and has remained slightly ambiguous ever since. The republicans were sufficiently worried that they placed a nonbinding resolution supporting John McCain into the U. S. senate and got it passed.

They really weren't much worried. The Supreme Court was full of life appointment republicans. I'm guessing that they realized that if they could just back a democrat into this corner that they could just beat him to death.

They had the law but they did not have the victim. The next problem was to manufacture a victim. They set all of the elves in their echo chamber to work. Lou Dobbs is either dumb enough or dishonest enough to be one of the walls in the republican echo chamber.

ALL HONEST PEOPLE SHOULD BOYCOTT LOU DOBBS.
