The Israeli newspaper Haaretz reports today on the “atmosphere of permanent crisis” surrounding the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. According to the report, a handful of Netanyahu’s top aides “dislike each other: They are constantly badmouthing each other and blaming each other for leaks.” One aide even revealed that Netanyahu attacked President Obama’s chief of staff Rahm Emanuel and senior advisor David Axelrod as “self-hating Jews”:

Netanyahu appears to be suffering from confusion and paranoia. He is convinced that the media are after him, that his aides are leaking information against him and that the American administration wants him out of office. Two months after his visit to Washington, he is still finding it difficult to communicat[e] normally with the White House. To appreciate the depth of his paranoia, it is enough to hear how he refers to Rahm Emanuel and David Axelrod, Obama’s senior aides: as “self-hating Jews.”

An aide also said that Netanyahu thought that his recent speech tacitly endorsing a two-state solution to the Israel-Palestine conflict (an endorsement that came with enormous caveats) “would become mandatory reading at schools in the United States, and when he realized that Obama gave no such order, he went back to being frustrated.” Matt Yglesias notes that Emanuel, who has taken a leading role in the Obama administration in pushing the two-state solution, has frustrated many in the right-wing American Jewish community for being too “tough” on the Israelis.

Who wouldn't be in that position? I wouldn't take that job for all the money in world.

Reminds me of that film, "The Lemon Grove." All the macho men in power get bolloxed up by a Palestinian widow.

Beebee will never change, so maybe the Iraelis will change their government. Parliamentary democracies can do that, you know? Really change.

Enough already with the 'self-hating Jew' nonsense! BeBe is not the only zionist to use this disparaging phrase at every opportunity, particularly when an American Jew responds negatively to statements made by Israeli politicians or American Zionist Jews. We Jews, of all stripes, have always disagreed on issues, politics, religion, etc..it is time for a change: Geo. Lakoff, Linguistics professor, could give Zionists some pointers on how to 'reframe' their responses to legitimate criticism in a thoughtful intelligent manner...(self-hating Jews, not so much)

Israel is running out of time. It is becoming more and more fascist. Why I don't know. Hopefully it can find its way back. Turning over the settlements to the palistineans would be a start

It must be nice to belong to such a simple mindset that only two expressions are needed to characterize your opponents. Anyone who criticizes Israel, is either an anti-semite or a self-hating jew.
You would think that someone like Netan-Yahoo, who was educated in the States, would realize how worn out, these expressions are.
How can the jews go wrong, when they can label non-jew critics as anti-semites (hates jews) and label jewish critics as self-hating jews. Pretty much takes care of all critics doesn't it? Also pretty much establishes Israeli jews as infallible! Jews need to consider how silly the expression "self-hating jew" is? Is there anything comparable in the world? Are there self-hating Episcopalians? Do Catholics hate themselves? Maybe Self-hating Muslims? No, this is strictly the product of jewish propaganda.
Someone, needs to tell the "Yahoo" in charge of the jews", that not just the U.S.A., but the world grows tired of the jews' perennial victim status, that requires you either love then unconditionally, or hate them; there has to be room for "indifference", as well as for being just plain fed up, with the jewish guilt trip that jews have been struggling to impose on the world at large. Your holocaust is not the world's most horrible example of hatred; within our lifetime, there have been worst examples of man's inhumanity as measured in murdered lives; what there isn't a worst example of however, is the the hype and capitalizing of that horror that the jews have engaged in, since coining the word holocaust. Nothing compares to the active efforts of the jews, to keep this event foremost in the minds of everyone, as if they alone have suffered and to such an extent that we need these constant reminders in the form of museums for the sycophants and perennial smears for the critics.
Just as many, if not most, people spend very little time bemoaning the countless dead of the despot Pol Pot, or the many more who were butchered by the dictator Stalin, so are there many who, not only do not spend any time remembering the jews, (who were among the many more, that Hitler murdered), but who really don't give a damn about the jews in general. It's not like they're the world's most lovable people. They claim to be the world's most hated people; well, even the most broad-minded, would have to conclude that for such universal hatred, the subject must bear some culpability.
How is it, that these most vilified of all humans nonetheless manage to gain power and influence, all out of proportion to their numbers? Does that sound like hatred? Check with California, where both my Senators and my Representative (from the most populous State in the Union) are jewish. Hatred?
Check with Wall Street where they have ruled since it's inception. Check with Hollyweird, where they rule unopposed and shape the nation's thoughts and values through their propaganda. Check with their cousins in the media, who decide what is "news". Check with AIPAC for who controls Wash. D.C. and how it's done. Does anyone have a handle on just how many jewish lobbies exist in these United States? For what purpose??
