Jeb Bush Proves Irony Is Not Dead

Posted by David Waldman, Daily Kos at 5:00 PM on July 8, 2009.

The brother of our former President accused Obama of misleading voters during his campaign. Remind you of someone else we know?

It must be great to be able to run your brain through the dishwasher each night:

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R) tells Esquire that President Obama didn't tell voters what he was going to do during the presidential campaign.

Said Bush: "Barack Obama would not have gotten elected if he'd let us in on his secret plan prior to the election. He would not have gotten elected if he'd said, 'My idea is to create a $1.8 trillion deficit for the next fiscal year. My idea is to spend $750 billion over the next ten years on a government-sponsored, government-subsidized health-care policy. My idea is to create a massive cap-and-trade system [based on the idea] that CO2 is [a] pollutant and we need to tax it in a massive way to reduce greenhouse-gas emissions.' Those ideas, which are now embedded in his budget, and the ideas in the stimulus package, weren't central in his campaign."

Clearly!

Obama should have told America he had a secret plan to invade the wrong country, bog us down there for at least six more years, kill 4,500 American troops in the process, cost us trillions in a war his people would at first claim would "pay for itself," institute an illegal system of nationwide domestic surveillance, and lead an American surge into ghoulish medievalism with a program of torture that ultimately would be used to try to extract "confessions" to that would justify it all, falsely, after the fact.

That, surely, would have satisfied these scions of the compound-dwelling douchebag plutocrat set.

Digg!

OK, we get it: Bush was a horrible president. Two wrongs don't make a right. But, if I had a nickel for every time Obama promised not to raise taxes on people making less than $250,000/year, I'd live in a mansion and fly around in a private jet like a typical environmentalist. But with Cap-and-Trade, he's raising taxes on everyone. And for what? Junk science? Outsourcing more jobs to China and India? Or to give his favorite network (MSNBC) and their parent company (General Electric) the tilted playing field to sell billions of dollars worth of wind turbines, power saving light bulbs, and energy efficient dishwashers. Face it, lefties, global warming is all about GE's profits.

Are There Any More Bush's In The Pipeline?

Just when we thought we were safe, another Bush pops up. Some want him to run for President in 2012. With who, Sarah Palin?

This family is incomprehensible to me. How can they continue to fuck up everything they touch, and still think they are doing the "Right Thing"?

I think their problem is that they have been rich and powerful for so long that they have lost touch with the rest of the world. I mean look at Katrina. Bush Sr. did a similar thing when he was President in 1992 and hurricane Andrew hit Homestead Florida (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hurricane_Andrew#Retirement). They don't understand hardship and suffering. They are totally detached from everyday life that working people experience as a matter of norm. And the prospect of another Bush coming up makes me wonder, "What is going through the American publics mind? Why does anyone trust or even listen to this family"? They are nothing but crooks wearing a phony smile.

Well, people, if you go for another Bush in the White House, I think I'll leave the country.

Jeb Bush on Truth

http://digg.com/politics/Jeb_Bush_The_truth_is_useless

"The truth is useless. You have to understand this right now. You can't deposit the truth in a bank. You can't buy groceries with the truth. You can't pay rent with the truth. The truth is a useless commodity that will hang around your neck like an albatross all the way to the homeless shelter. And if you think that the million or so people in this country that are really interested in the truth about their government can support people who would tell them the truth, you got another thing coming. Because the million or so people in this country that are truly interested in the truth don't have any money."

Could not have said it better myself. The only thing you didn't mention was........letting NOLA drown and up until the end of his term, still had nothing, no plan, do deal with all the despair, homelessness, families torn apart, big developers stealing the poor's land, etc, etc

Oh, no, not another one! Haven't Americans tired of the Bush brand? There's a reason G. H. W. Bush (Daddy Warbucks) cried when his idiot son George W. got the country into such a mess: he knew it was ruining Jeb's chances. Let's try to remember the big lie Daddy told us ("Read my lips....") and the eight years of lies and misery we went through with son Dubya and forget any misguided notions Jebby-boy will do good for the country. He won't.

Jeb would have been the logical choice of sons if in fact they (Cheney) had wanted someone with an IQ over 50 (sportin' almost a 55 Jeb?).
I love to hear the brain dead shift the problems we currently face on an admin only in office about 6 months, instead of the admin who held power for the previous 8 yrs and controlled congress since '95. Even funnier is the fact that when it comes to financial scandals and affiliations with economic Busts- a Repug is always found with in it's midsts (Mr. McCain, Mr. Gramm).
The REASON we are Up to Our necks in Debt is because Repugs and their Corp Overlords have spent the last few Decades Cleaning out the nations Vaults! Legalizing Money laundering and Racketeering. We need investigations and prosecution for those who have been committing Economic Treason since the '80's reinstitution of Feudalism (aka 'Trickle Down')
As for your Dear Brother and his puppet masters- they should already be facing the Gallows for War Crimes (torture, rendition and Hit squads),Crimes against Humanity (Blood for Oil),Abuse of Power (wiretapping) and TREASON (doing nothing to stop 9/11 and lying US into an illegal invasion)!

Actually, Obama is carrying out his campaign promises

Contrary to Jeb's pathetic attempt to rewrite history, Obama ran and won on pledges to address (among other things) (1) the growing economic crisis by vigorous government action, (2) the broken health care system by increasing access and decreasing cost, and (3) the climate crisis by capping carbon emissions and increasing energy efficiency.
The public supported that then and supports it now.
The GOP keeps raising the deficit when (1) they couldn't care less when Jeb's little bro was running it up and (2) any serious response to the deep recession leads to short term spending gaps.
Do they have a plan? Nope, just stale rhetoric.

Jebbie:

Do the world a favor and STFU! We don't want or need anymore BUSHES of varying degrees of intelligence...or lack thereof in your bro's case.

You were no more a good governor than your bro was a good president.

I've stated it before, and I intend to keep reminding America, that...During your OWN "reign of terror," you deliberately screwed over Florida's poor in 2004 by signing into law unConstitutional legislation charging court fees to the indigent--THE ONLY STATE IN THE UNION TO DO SO, so don't go away mad, Jebbie, JUST GO AWAY!

...and if it were not for the pressure my supporters and I put on Florida's current "slawmakers," your stupid-ass legislation would still be in effect! But, of course, in typical Florida "slawmaker" fashion, the reigning idiots took credit for the whole thing themselves and further spit on the Constitution by demanding the "big media" morons in their pockets not cover the protests and hard work accomplished by me and my supporters! You should all be ashamed of yourselves! What a shameful legacy the Bush clan and Florida "slawmakers" leave for future generations.

Jeb sort of misses the SOURCE of the problems Obama faces

Ahhhh.... Jeb? Your brother's failure to do ANYTHING against global climate change sources for 8 years has us way behind the curve on turning things around in the environment. His loosening the reins on Wall Street allowed them to go far beyond where they should in constructing financial instruments.

His boneheaded moves have made our entire nation and much of the rest of the world vulnerable. If you think these problems do not require fixes on a massive scale, you're as stupid as your brother is.

It's convenient to say that Obama did not address these items in his campaign but some of them hadn't reached critical mass yet.

Lastly the ideas and policies of today are not all of Obama's making. He getting input from some of the sharpest minds this nation has at its disposal. The final decisions are his, but at least he's listening to people who know more than he does about specific issues before he DOES make a decision.

That, Mr. Jeb Bush, is something we could never accuse your brother of having done.

He's far more dangerous than dumbya.
He's smarter.
He can actually speak Spanish.
He is and always was poppie's first choice for POTUS.
If the 2012 "election" is anywhere near close, the fix can, and will, push jeb over the top. Don't think for a minute that the neocons and their rethug stooges won't do this yet again. They got away with it TWICE, already.
There is still a vast body of undereducated and resentful fools out there who would vote for a scrub like jeb, just as they did for dumbya.

The guy who's 20 something daughter was re-arrested several times for sneaking drugs into the rehab she was sentenced to and who interfered with the judge who sentenced her has even less credibility than his war criminal brother OR his S&L corruption brother, or his worthless educational materials selling brother.
Not to mention his Iran/Contra criminal father and his "Katrina worked out so well for THOSE PEOPLE" IGNORANT MOTHER.
