Gee, what a surprise, via Americablog:

White supremacists and neo-Nazi hate groups plan to take advantage of the anti-tax “Tea Parties” set to occur in more than 1,000 cities and localities over the July 4 holiday weekend to disseminate racist fliers and other materials and attempt to recruit others to their cause, according to the Anti-Defamation League (ADL).

ADL’s Center on Extremism, which monitors extremist groups and provides information to law enforcement and the public, has released information on its Web site describing the attempt by white supremacists to co-opt the anti-tax message of the events as a means to spread racism and anti-Semitism.

On Stormfront, the most popular white supremacist Internet forum, members have discussed becoming local organizers of the “Tea Parties” and finding ways to involve themselves in the events. Many racists have voiced their intent to attend these rallies for the purpose of cultivating an “organized grassroots White mass movement,” with some suggesting that they would do so without openly identifying themselves as racists.

Those patriotic teabaggers must be so proud.

Digg!

Birds of a feather.

A few months ago, on NPR, The Republican Leadership discussed their plans of organizing the unemployed and using them to regain Congress. “White” is virtually always the unspoken key-word in any Republican political agenda. The tea parties are a part of that plan.
People shouldn't be lulled into somnambulance by the benevolent demeanor of the corporate sponsorship of the Tea Parties.
Corporate sponsors are not neophytes to fascist uprisings. In the ‘20s & '30s, Ford, Morgan, DuPont, GM, Standard of N.J. (Exxon's precursor), and Friends of the Bush Family bank rolled the 3rd Reich heavily. Back then, the bogey was Henry Ford’s favorite, “The International Jew”. The Bolsheviks were a close second. But today, it’s Mexicans.
What the left must do is to organize the unemployed themselves (the Democrats won’t do it) to take simple steps that will affect their lives in a real and positive way. So, when the participants look back they can see their effort and their reward.
One possible cause for action would be a march on Washington with a simple message:
“Jobs Now”. Of course, a march on Washington would have to be well organized to keep it from becoming a fiasco.
Another good cause would be to create a movement to lobby to fill the gap in the Stimulus created by the meager funding for School Teachers and state employees. The goal would be to make the State and local governments hire back virtually everyone they fired over the past year. Such a cause would be certain to attract recently fired public employees.
My oxymoronic question is: How does a “populist” movement happen without corporate sponsorship? I think the answer lies in blogs, you-tube, and networking by people with common goals and aspirations. In this case, the goal is meaningful jobs.
I’m thinking that the AFT or the SEIU might have an interest in organizing the recently fired Public Employees, as well as the required economic resources.
Another option would be to organize people locally to elect representatives who are willing to tax the rich and the corporations.
In the case of California, people could organize a state initiative movement to close the loopholes in the Jarvis Gann Initiative, Prop 13, that provide huge unfair property tax breaks for corporations. Once that loophole is eliminated, the revenue accrued could be used to fix the state budget shortfall and rehire those fired state employees.

These are troubling times. I feel a sense of urgency.

Obviously racism is in play when you're protesting a bunch of old white Banksters getting trillions in unaccounted tax dollars. Yay, it's time for marginalization through collectivizing a mainstream popular movement with offensive fringe opportunists! Intellectual laziness is soooo diverse. Thanks Daily Kos and alternet.

the time to recruit was during the first TeaBagger Day. Some people might at least listen, but they're going to be looked at as bandwagon jumpers even by those TeaBaggers sympathetic to their cause.

#@!

Sounds about Right.
'Thou Protest Too Much' you Yellow Bellied (and shoelaced)cowards. These White Supremeist's self hatred and lack of self confidence is obvious. They are terrified that if required to compete on a level playing field with others, they will fail. There Rhetoric and actions says more about their own percieved inadequacies than it does about the competition.
As for these Teabaggers who play mizers with their money, I want every single one of them to have to balls to sign and pledge (and carry through with) to enlist in the volunteer Fight fighters assoc, neighborhood watch, Road Repair, National Guard, Emergency rescue...
Not to mention what they intend to do about such things as public education, senior care and national Defense. What the Teabaggers are expounding is not only 'Generational Theft' but the rejection of 'inalienable rights' for all citizens. With their State vs Federal mantra, They are proposing WE become like the European Union, Not the UNITED States our Founders Created.FYI Teabaggers, each territory which sought Statehood had to accept, and adhere to, the guidelines laid out in the Constitution to be admitted to the Republic. What you are expounding is not only UnAmerican, it's Treason.

So if socialists and communists show up at progressive activities we should label everyone anti American? I hope not!

History shows that only 1/3 of the population fought for freedom in the 1700's. So this 4th of July you may want to educate yourself on what the Tea Bag folks are all about.

Tea party provocateurs

I witnessed a tea party here in Montana this morning and could not help but notice the overt racism as people gathered to march down Main Street. My wife and I heard comments like: "Get that pencil-necked Nigerian out of the White House." (Being a little naive, I just now realize that Nigerian is the new semi-euphemism for the n-word.)

A good many marchers were directing their slogans toward Obama rather than toward unbearably high taxes, the ostensible reason for the march. They were, in effect, promoting the non sequitur that we can solve all our economic problems by removing a black man from office. Coming so soon after the election that Obama won handily, such sentiments can only be interpreted as white supremacist incitement.

Unprepared to counter the vitriol of the racists, we were obliged to use our presence to point out the contradictions in the teabagger march (e.g., railing against taxes but not volunteering to pay for the public costs of closing Main Street for an hour; being Libertarian freeloaders).

It is dismaying to see people's honest dissatisfactions being channeled in ways harmful to our civilization, to carry out other, more malignant agendas. I think that self-styled Libertarians are like a herd of sheep that cannot figure things out for themselves. They will dangerously follow any bellwether that appeals to their vague sense of helplessness. God save America.

Give them what they want. No taxes at all. Let these people do without interstate highways, weather reports, schools, roads, police, firemen, teachers, streetlights. Let them pay for grandma's operation, or put grandma out on the gutter to die. Let them hire their own body-guards, teachers, fire-men,
and see how cheaply they can do it. The rich can afford all that. These ignorant dumbos are shooting themselves in the foot.

What happened to United We Stand?? That only counts when they are in power. Now they want to tear this country apart for their own political gain. The Grand Old Un-American Party.

This is all a ploy by the Repugs because when they lose an election, they fight and act like they won it anyway, like in the Al Frankin election in Minnesota. These are the same hypocrites who called Gore a sore loser after they stole the 2000 election.
