Fox Newser Arrested for Dragging Cyclist 200 Yards

Don Broderick, a news writer at Fox, has been arrested for dragging a cyclist 200 yards with his SUV, Gawker has confirmed.

Brian Dooda, a 34-year-old resident of Brooklyn, told the New York Daily News on June 10 that Broderick knocked him down, forcing him to cling to the hood of the car. Dooda said that as Broderick accelerated, the two made eye contact through the windshield.

"He was expressionless, he didn't say anything," Dooda said.

Dooda posted his full police testimony about the incident on a cycling message board. Here's a choice excerpt:

"The driver then accelerated, lunging straight into me, knocking me and my bicycle to the ground and to the left side of his car. I quickly got to my feet and positioned myself in front of his vehicle to prevent him from fleeing the scene. I called out to bystanders to call the police and yelled at the driver that he was insane, he just hit me, and he can't leave. The driver again accelerated into me, with no intention of stopping, forcing me, prostrate, onto the drivers side hood of his vehicle."

Is it too soon to make a joke about the dangers of veering too far right?

What is it about NYC that makes so many people, especially cops go completely batshit the second they see a bicycle????

Remember when Robert Novak did this in Washington? He hit an older pedestrian while driving his black Corvette.

Unbelievable.

Cyclists should watch out for murderous right-wing suburbanites in large, racing SUV's. They could be selfish, self-centered, up-tight, in a hurry and angry, especially at inner-city bikers who dare to take up a bit of the pavement. Truck mirrors, too, can really wack your coconut.

Perfect analogy of how Murdocks "Newscorp" conducts itself on air or in print too.
Throw some type of rhetorical Malitoff cocktail out and see what gets ignited.
Beck crying 'Gun Ban'- 3 cops die
BillO screaming 'killer'- A MD is Murdered
Cartoonist with a monkey shot dead as a political statement- Trying for Poltical Assasination?
Then when someone calls them on their blatant violence provoking remarks or innuendo- they run away claiming Unintentional effects of 'Freedom of Speech'. BS!
Freedom of Speech is a Citizens right- not a corp right. BillO,Beck,Hannity and Rush would all be within their rights if standing on a street corner or at the end of a bar. But since they have been granted contracts and the means to disseminate their thoughts nationally (and internationally) by these Corps, thus acting as their representative through Expressed and Implied Authority to do so- it is the Corps who are legally liable for what come out of their mouths and the aftermath.
These Corps are granted Licensing for the sole purpose of serving the American Public and it's interests. Yet they have used their outlets as nothing more than Infomercials for the distribution of 'snakeoil'. I have yet to see a disclaimer prior and during to any of these Shows declaring the 'thoughts and views expressed are not necessarily those of the network or it's owners'.So one can only surmise these "personalities' DO express the views and thoughts of the network and Owners.
Screw going after these individual hate and fear Mongers- incitors of violence- go after the 'Murdocks' since they has failed to disassociate themselves and their 'empires' from the dangerous, violence provoking Rhetoric.Yank their licenses and prosecute them for dispensing hatefilled propagnada, which have led to hate crimes. Your network, Your Paper, Your Radio Station....YOU ARE LEGALLY LIABLE FOR IT'S CONTENT.

it was a Fox News 'wrapped' business vehicle...

*damn*

that would have been priceless.

*poor bastard*
the only up-side is that it was a FoxFucker who did the Dirty Deed...

===

I had a bitch hit me & throw me onto her car as I walked to work in '98.

She stopped at the light, I looked at her. I had the light.
I stepped off the curb... she picked up her coffee & hit the gas. *hard*

I ended up in physio.
She was a neighbour on the street a block down from our apartment building.
She had City connections, so it turns out that the sympathetic & irate cops who told me she was getting multiple charges... gave her a 'pass' & she was charged with none.

Several months later, a massive snowstorm hit Toronto & the military was called to assist clearing streets for emergency vehicles.

I was bringing coffee to my husband & a stranger down the street as they struggled to free a buried car from under the snow.

As they began clearing the snow... it became clear: it was the same car (yes, I remembered the license plate... I remember watching her drive away)
Suddenly, the bitch came thundering out of the house, demanding to know WHY I WAS SO LAZY & I WASN'T PUTTING DOWN MY COFFEE TO HELP EXCAVATE HER CAR.

as I pointed out in astonishment, "because you're the fucking bitch who ran me over with your car & I still can't even carry my own fucking briefcase, you dumb fucking bitch. Get your fucking ass back in the fucking house before I bootfuck your useless ass down the fucking street"

Left-wing cyclists?

I am an avid cyclist. I am finding, however, that just because I ride a bicycle I am branded as some sort of left wing, environmentalist nut. I get taunted from time to time as I ride, and as much as I hate stereotyping people, it always seems to be the same kind of vehicle that gives me trouble. Just because I happen to be a left-wing environmentalist nut, doesn't mean that I should be prejudged simply because I ride a bicycle.

...has always been a basic tenet of Republicanism, just as they feel entitled to trash other peoples lives, other races and religions, Afghanistan and Iraq, the environment, or the economy, and then take their money and run off to hide in their castle in the Hamptons or wherever. Hit and run drivers have the same mentality. Sooner or later, they won't be able to hide from the people they defacate on, and that day can't come soon enough. Where's the guillotine, now that we need it? :)

I'm an avid and responsible cyclist, having been riding a bicycle to get around for almost 20 years. All I can say is that any creep who better pulls a stunt like that on me will soon wish that I was dead. I'm not the type to wait for the cops to sort things out. Typical right wing bastard. Is there anything these people don't hate?
