John McCain's One True Love: Ronald Reagan

Powerdouche John McCain has threatened to oppose the confirmation of Obama's deputy secretary of Interior nominee, David Hayes, because Hayes once wrote something unflattering about St. Ronald of Reagan:

In the article, Hayes wrote [pdf] that "the conservative political agenda in the West is grounded in hoary stereotypes about the region and its people" and that "out of this conservative world view emerges the stereotypical Western man (and it is unquestionably a 'he')—a rugged, gun-toting individualist who fiercely guards every man's right to drill, mine, log, or do whatever he damn well pleases on the land" and that "Like Ronald Reagan before him, President Bush has embraced the Western stereotype to the point of adopting some of its affectations—the boots, brush-clearing, and get-the-government-off-our-backs bravado."

And since evidently no one is allowed to exercise their right to freedom of speech to criticize the Patron Saint of Conservative Wankers, McCain used the occasion of Hayes' confirmation hearing to ask him whether he stood by his remarks, to which Hayes replied he regretted using "overly florid" prose.

That didn't appease McCain.

"So you had to throw Reagan in there?" McCain continued.

"I shouldn't have done that," Hayes said.

…"I will be considering seriously whether I can support your nomination or not," McCain added.
Idiot.

Hayes should have told McCain the only thing he regretted was not adding that Reagan was a yella-bellied, pants-pooping thumbsucker and a terrible actor. Neener neener.

Digg!

Thanks for the laugh. That was funny.

First, Reagan is one of our greatest presidents since WW2. Second while I am pro conservationist I am against big government meddling in peoples lives especially in areas they have no idea what they are doing. Let them stop developers from ruin ing our country and expanding cities.

The thought that some asshole in Washington knows more about the land people live on then they do is typical leftwing BS.

If that his thoughts then I support McCain

for Reagan, when both he and his wife loathed the man after divorcing his first wife, which the Reagan's adored.

As for the popularity of the "Family Values" wife and political party swapping, B rated, senile, snitch, who had nothing to do with the collapse of the former USSR, yet everything to do with the sabotaged Iranian hostage rescue, the bloating of government with its run-a-way deficit spending your great-grandchildren will still only be paying a fraction on the interest of total debt accrued under his regimes watch.

If the fascist's "Goon's & Thug's" of the Reagan administration had been behind bars for the Treason fomenting Iran-contra weapons for cocaine scandle, then there would have been no self-appointed Bu$h II cabal with its farce War Of Terror costing trillion's of $ with billions unaccounted for and millions killed, maimed or turned into refugees.

Or the Trillion's of $'s in bailout money being rewarded to the very Wall Street "Financial Wizard's" who lost more money in one year than the entire history of the company's operation. Who should be in prison instead of receiving golden parachutes.

These tired old men who can't keep commitments like Reagan, McCain, Gingrich, Hyde, Barr, Livingston and others who hang out in bathrooms like Craig, prey on Congressional pages like Foley, or "Maverick" woman who have pre-marital sex resulting in pregnancy like Palin.

We can't just blaim Reagan-he had first stage Alzheimers before he was elected president the first time-he just read his masters lines. I do think that his presidency did more harm to our country than even "W" did. It never ceases to amaze me how ignorant so many Americans are. Do most Americans really believe that big business has our values and morals at heart in their business decisions? Are we as individuals powerful enough to ensure that we aren't exploited by our employers? It seems to me that government for the people and by the people are the only ones who can help the 95% of us working stiffs. Most of us are basically slaves to big business. How many of you have been fired because you weren't liked, or fat or had medical problems. Reagan didn't care about you-trickle down economics is exactly like slavery for the workers. Lets call a spade a spade.

You know, the same shameless band of thieves has been plaguing us since Nixon!

Rumsfeld was Ford's Chief of Staff for a while, and then Ford's Secretary of Defense. He had various non-noteworthy jobs in the Nixon administration which probably got him the Ford jobs.

Under Reagan he just had various civilian tit jobs:

Member of the President's General Advisory Committee on Arms Control—Reagan Administration (1982–1986);
President Reagan's Special Envoy on the Law of the Sea Treaty (1982–1983);
Senior Advisor to President Reagan's Panel on Strategic Systems (1983–1984);
Member of the U.S. Joint Advisory Commission on U.S./Japan Relations—Reagan Administration (1983–1984);
President Reagan's Special Envoy to the Middle East (1983–1984);
Member of the National Commission on the Public Service (1987–1990);
Member of the National Economic Commission (1988–1989);
Member of the Board of Visitors of the National Defense University (1988–1992);

Rumsfeld loved Cheney, and when he became Director of the OEO under Nixon, hired him to work in his office. Cheney then held various minor positions for Nixon, and when Rumsfeld became Ford's Secretary of Defense, Cheney his siamese twin, succeeded him as White House Chief of Staff. Cheney went on to carry Reagan's train in the House, until he left to become Daddy Bush's Secretary of Defense.

These men have been a cancer on American government since the '60's.

I don't know why McCain loves Reagan so much. Reagan never gave him shit.

Should be the words carved over the door at the Reagan Library. By the way, did they use the library for housing all those prisoners they no longer had room for in the California Penal System? Seriously, dude I never heard a peep from Ahnold.

Ronny HAD alzheimers when he took Office, something SongBird was beginning to show signs of himself..'Sunni, Shia??'At least Johnny could remember they were both Muslims.
Of Course Mac Loves Ronny, that was when he learned to sell his soul for Political and monetary gains.The Beer heiresss,Cindy? Keating 5? Those 'Afghani Freedom Fighters' your club sent funds and Boots to (building Not only Bin ladens recruitment numbers but 'Glory Story' Resume? Did John make the delivery of Anthrax to Saddam personally, reason he "knew" so quickly after the Anthrax attacks in '01?Was that when he hooked up with Phil Gramm and devised a way to topple US through Economic Treason, Aka 'Modernization Act?
John McCain should refrain from bringing up the '80's- he has so many skeletons from that era, he needs a storage locker, or perhaps those are kept in one of his numerous houses bought by his Sugar Momma.
Take a tip from Rush & Cramer, When you make a spectacle of yourself, not only does the public begin to seek more information about you on the 'Internets Cables', the Eye of Justice also turns towards You.Careful Songbird, you may be waking up those who are still Sleeping.

...he should have been buried in a landfill.

2thepoint, John Waybe movies are fiction. You got that? They're fiction. Fiction is lies. Even "John Wayne" is a lie. "Wayne's" real name was Marion Morrison.

Like John Wayne, the Ronald Reagan you're describing here is fiction too. Whoever the guy you're talking about is, it's not Ronald Reagan.

Maybe that's not all your fault. Get yourself a history book. A real history book, not the falsified crap churned out by Reagan lionizers. And read it.

Because you've been duped, buddy.

be any real, honest political discussion in America as long as the myth of Ronald Reagan dominates.

It flabbergasts me to think that so many people can be fooled by a nice smile into the TV camera.

I am so sick of this fairy tale idiocy.

Alice in Wonderland can not touch the reality of America's surreal "common wisdom." To say Americans are "hopelessly ignorant" is to be both overly kind and a bit too generous.

Ronald Reagan, the patron saint of bullshit.

Granny's luv note to Jon Stewart Go get a chuckle!

Luv,
Granny
