GOP Civil War: Kristol Takes on Leader Limbaugh

Will Kristol resist the pressure, or will he fall in line like all the others?

In recent weeks, a growing number of conservatives have hopped on the Rush Limbaugh bandwagon, saying they agree with his repeated statements that he hopes President Obama fails. Michelle Malkin, Tom Delay, Rick Santorum, Rep. Mike Pence (R-IN), Sen. David Vitter (R-LA) have all said they want Obama’s policies to fail.

The Weekly Standard’s Bill Kristol, however, seems to disagree with this sentiment. In an interview with Fox and Friends yesterday, Kristol broke with the Limbaugh line. Discussing Obama’s recent actions to fix the economy with progressive blogger David Sirota, Kristol said that Americans “should” “hope” that Obama’s policies “succeed”:

Q: Are people still holding on to [their hope] thinking he will be able to change the problems we are now facing?

KRISTOL: Look, Americans wish a new president well. They hope his policies succeed, as they should.

Watch it:

Is Kristol, one of the most influential conservative pundits, going toe-to-toe with Rush Limbaugh, also one of the most influential conservative pundits? Thus far, those who dared to challenge the mighty Limbaugh have quickly kneeled before him (see e.g., Michael Steele, Rep. Phil Gingrey, and Gov. Mark Sanford).

Will Kristol resist the pressure, or will he fall in line like all the others?

Digg!

In this corner, Bill Kristol, "one of the most influential conservative pundits". In that corner, Rush Limbaugh, a gibbering media maniac who "speaks for the Republican Party"

Today, pontificating about Obama's Health Care Summit and impending legislation:

"Before it's all over, it'll be called the Ted Kennedy Memorial Health Care bill," Limbaugh said.

What a fucking pig.

as much as Olbermann, Rush did explain himself-
He hoped Obama's socialist policies failed to prevent the country from failing like European socialism. He still an ass!

He also mentioned that his statements were no different than Reids or many other democrats who openly wished the surge would fail!

All one can say is most politicians suck!

Bill Kristol is a Republican but he is also a Zionist and consequently an imperialist. Being the latter two, he and others like him in Republican Party will put their partial support of Obama's 'homeland policies' to good use while lobbying in the arena of Obama's Foreign Policy, specially the Middle East policy. Kristol & Co are pimping for war against Iran, just like they pimped for war against Iraq pre-March,2003.

Repugs trying to split hairs reveals their hatred of US

'Hope Obama Fails' ?!? How does Rush think we will realize his plans have failed- Unemployment reaches 25%, Homelessness to match, Soup kitchens on every corner...!
No matter how they try to Dice up their comments for their bases comsumption, the truth is they are Betting on US failing!
If 'Doing Nothing' Worked, the Repugs No Regulations on Wall street or corps would not have Drivne our economy into the Ground.
If the Repugs idea of 'Doing Nothing' would have worked, Paulson's 2 1/2 page crayon written ransom note could have stayed in the drawer. He waited 6 Months HOPING Doing nothing would work- it didn't! They only thing it did is allow the economy to slide down further & faster.
As fro their 'Tax Cut ' Mantra- Our incomes have plummet so far, we are in a lower tax backet anyway. Lost our homes- so no need to worry about those property taxes either! all they come up with is Tax breaks for Corps? We aren't buying,so their revenues are down. Not to mention that numerous corps ahve reported Historic windfall profits over the last 8 yrs while jobless rates have increased- obviously they aren't using these funds to hire more people. It outrages me to hear the claim that Energy corps can create Jobs in their commercials- If that were true why haven't they when Exxon brought down 45.2 Billion in profits- How many new employees did they hire this last year?
Here what Repugs need to do...Nothing, Sit down Shut the fuck up and let the People who actually Love this country figure out how to get our asses out of the clusterfuck you caused!! Keep up your Destructive Propagnada and we might just hang you all for TREASON!

Well, I guess the American people still hold on to the Obama "hope." The latest Newsweek poll gives him a 72% approval rating.

Lets remember, it was Kristol who selected and vetted PALIN for VP....

... there was no other act that aided Obama in the General election than that one by Kristol. It was a brilliant move if the objective was to make McCain lose the election.

Remember, right on here, I said Obama is the designated winner and McCain the designated loser, for a variety of reasons, one of which was the selection of Palin as VP..... and they do vet these people and within a day, the dems had all the information to go after her, so what was the game????

The neocons on both sides work for the bankers and Israel and thus cooperate in this stuff and that is why no candidate got the press or attention or support from their party needed to effectively compete against these two candidates. It was a controlled primary and general.

..On that I don't agree. Gov. Pawlenty, speaking on The Rachel Maddow Show a couple of nights ago, went to some lengths to explain that he understood what Rush Limbaugh had said, and that he didn't agree with him.

I was was shocked! He had broken the 11th Commandment! Didn't anybody else notice this?

Obama, you have my full support. Please do not let those dumb-shits with empty words, of veto meaning, change your course. All who are throwing out the garbage, are being paid salaries for what they are transmitting. Keep strong... and keep your head above the garbage.... Your doing a great job... and I sincerely wish that millions of us, truly dedicated Americans, could find a way to shake you hand every morning, to re-inforce our desire for your success. If you win, we all win. And we definately need a brighter tomorrow. Thank You..................

While the nutcakes are crying that the end is near, and offer a solution that is actually the cause, the greedy class is taking us down faster with all their short-selling on Wall Street. This nonsense is a diversion, encouraged by the vultures who created the mess to allow them more latitude in profiting even more! Stop the short selling, by law, and let the dust settle. Rush is the clown of the corrupt, fed (very well, from the looks of him) to keep the sideshow off the main event.
