John McCain Gets in a Twitter Fight

When he was running for President, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) freely admitted that he was computer “illiterate” and that he relied on his aides to use a BlackBerry. But McCain recently increased his use of technology, using Twitter to mock what he thinks are the “the TOP TEN PORKIEST PROJECTS in the Omnibus Spending bill.”

Yesterday, his #1 porkiest project was the Oregon Solar Highway:

As Danny Glover points out at AirCongress, Rep. Earl Blumenauer, whose home state stands to benefit from the earmark, didn’t appreciate McCain’s sarcasm and he tweeted his displeasure:

The Oregon Solar Highway is “the nation’s first solar panel project on a major U.S. highway,” which seeks to use a row of solar panels about five feet wide and two football fields long to feed electricity directly into Portland General Electric’s systemwide grid. It is meant to “account for 28 percent of the energy needed to power lights that illuminate the highway’s sweeping interchange at night.”

When he was running for President, McCain declared that “no one in Arizona is against solar.” But, as The Washington Independent pointed out at the time, McCain’s voting record has not been supportive of solar energy. In May 2008, McCain trashed subsidies for solar power while simultaneously arguing for subsidies for the nuclear industry. (HT: Jonathan Singer)

He thinks if he claims that Obama's policies will lead to 'generational theft' no one will notice the bank vault is empty already! The True Boomers (those born in response to the Build up to and through WW2) already took the money and ran!Their 'Free Love' Orgies moved into the Market and Politics in the '80s.Mac's buddy Keating was the first 'Koolaid Acid Test' for Corp Swindles. Iran contra it's Political counterpart.Hell they've been Snorting up the Profits ever since. If 'doing Nothing' would have Worked..we wouldn't be in this cluster fuck Now. If 'Doing Nothing' Worked, Paulson's 2 1/2 page ransom note would still be in his desk drawer. Mac is trying to distract Americans away from the reality that the 'Theft' is basically 'Fait Accompli'. Reason their shoveling money into AIG, It's like the FDIC for investment Bankers. Obama is trying to shore up the corp which was to reimbuse people the money their investment bankers Lost! Those 401K's, annuities and pensions the gamblers got access to and LOST. I truely believe those quarterly statments aren't worth the paper they are printed on at this point. Our kids won't have a pot to piss in because WE don't have a pot to piss in anymore- Nothing to inherit now! The only way out of this Cluster fuck the Double Speak criminals have created is through more 'socialist' avenues- We have no 'market', thus no 'Forces' to rectify it. Thank God they were unable to Privitize Medicare and social Security- otherwise our elderly would literally be dying in the streets. This is the Gereration who has Ruined our country, work to undo everything gained in the Revolutionary War.
