CNN is reporting that "U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg had surgery today for pancreatic cancer."

The Associated Press says the cancer is in the early stages, and Ginsberg is expected to remain in the hospital for about a week.

Ginsberg is the only woman serving on the Supreme Court and is one of its "liberals."

Get well soon, Justice Ginsberg!
