Fishbowl DC has been keeping tabs of which media outlets have been allowed to ask a question at President-elect Barack Obama's five press conferences so far. They report Fox News is 0-5.

"Questions instead went to such outlets as ABC, New York Times, CBS, Reuters and the Associated Press."

Obama is not a stupid man. He knows that Faux News is a house organ for the Cheney/Bush crime family. Why should he recognize any questions that they may pose?

Now if he can keep that up for four years, they lose access, and become irrelevant.

Usually I would object to government freezing out any news agency from even asking questions, but given the very public and very obvious nature of what Fox News does, I really just can't disaprove.

Rupert Murdoch is all about the money. He's made great profits pandering to the formerly closeted right wing crazies. The other three networks saw his bottom line and decided to go that route rather than to continue fighting for the viewership of more normal folk. The problem is, they all made the decision at the same time and moved the public dialog way past center. When the soup he's been selling thins for lack of access to ingredients, you can bet he'll start marketing whatever he can make money on. It's going to fun to watch Bill O'Reilly whither on the vine to the point that he must confront his own irrelevance.

The shrub administration tried ignoring Helen Thomas. She's still around and still relevant. When you have a great product, you can be ignored and survive.

Fortunately for the thinking world, fox noise has neither a great product nor any discernible quality. They may survive, but it's unlikely they'll survive unchanged.

Yes, we know faux are shills for Bush, and the corporatocy. That is pretty much beyond question.

Which makes them the leading opposition media to Obama.

Which also makes their questions MORE important to be answered.

I would think that of all people, Alternet readers would have a better understanding of the importance of including ALL viewpoints, especially ones in opposition to the administration's viewpoints.

After 8 years of Bush, the need has been amply illustrated, don't ya think?

Imagine O'Riley using the same tactics to get an "interview" with Obama as he did with Wexler a few months ago. Imagine him storming the White House with his camera crew demanding answers to his ridiculous questions as they did at Wexler's home. The Secret Service would have them all in IRONS so fast and in jail, they wouldn't know what hit them. Wouldn't it be FUN to watch them try to squirm out of it? Maybe they'd even get tasered.

and so now they reap a rather burdensome hot air whirlwind!

I sure hope Fox NewsCorp goes bankrupt and looses it's right to broadcast News in any form!

I personally haven't watched a Fox broadcast in over 6 years now... but that decision was mainly due to there canceling of Firefly... they seem to do everything... wrong...

I tried to watch Fox News but they went from News information to MaxHeadRoom type Infotainment back in the early 90's... their talking heads are all bubble wrap and fluff making absolutely no real sense back then and continues to be today...
They've absolutely no substance or creditability and I've boycotted them and their advertisers for a LONG long time, going as far as writing there sponsors long letters why i will no longer be subscribing to and purchasing products from them...

bye bye Fox

nasty right wing attack dogs to characterize his niche. If his niche disappears, it his problem. I consider has niche as unconsionably unpatriotic. If it were up to me, I'd like to see him return to Australia. We don't need him here. Good-bye.
