Bush's Delusional Take on His Legacy

In your dreams:

"I'd like to be a president [known] as somebody who liberated 50 million people and helped achieve peace," Bush told his sister, Dorothy Bush Koch, in a conversation recorded for the oral-history organization StoryCorps for the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress.

I'm sure that would be nice, but instead you will be remembered as the man who invaded a country that hadn't threatened it using lies and propaganda -- and ended up "liberating" millions of people from their lives.

"I came to Washington with a set of values, and I'm leaving with the same set of values. And I darn sure wasn't going to sacrifice those values; that I was a president that had to make tough choices and was willing to make them," he said

No, it wasn't a tough choice to invade Iraq or ignore Katrina or allow the financial system to run completely amuck. It was a unique combination of stupidity and malevolence, which will be studied for centuries by historians struggling to imagine how such a person was ever given such power by a supposedly democratic people.

I believe he did go to Washington with a certain set of values -- after all he'd signed over 150 death warrants without even reading the paperwork. That's exactly the kind of person who would legalize torture and suspend the constitution. And naturally a man who would steal an election and then govern like he'd won in a partisan landslide would politicize the Justice Department. Surely anyone who would hire a thug like Karl Rove could be expected to spy on Americans and use the presidency for political purposes.

Yes, his values are intact, no doubt about it, and his legacy is intact.

It's unbelievable. For him to say:

"I came to Washington with a set of values, and I'm leaving with the same set of values. And I darn sure wasn't going to sacrifice those values; that I was a president that had to make tough choices and was willing to make them,"

speaks to just how delusional he is. And how dangerous. Set of values? He has no values. He has a set of no-values.

He's such an embarrassment to this country. Please, do us all a favor and leave now! Leave now!

Just so that we wouldn't have to listen to anything he says anymore, and be minding our own business one second, and risk choking on our own vomit the next?

CHRIST what an empty shell of a man! And TWICE this country put him in office. TWICE!!

Conservatives' True Values

Bush's values are not uniquely his; the vast majority of the Republican party and conservative Christians share those values and enthusiastically supported Bush's initiatives. Warmongering, wanton slaughter of civilians, war crimes, forced disappearances, torture, illegal spying on innocent American citizens and allies, war profiteering, cronyism, corruption, connivance at Wall Street's overarching greed resulting in economic collapse, muzzling of scientists, refusal to acknowledge or act on environmental catastrophes, enrichment of the rich, further impoverishment of the poor, denial of healthcare to poor children--these are Bush's, and conservative America's legacy and illustrate in ways that no sanctimonious language can obfuscate, the true values of conservatives.

Not that we will surely survive much longer as a nation... but I am glad that as a nation we have survived our modern day Nero/Caligula.

This failure ought to be rotting away in some prison. Maybe we could send him to GITMO and have the prisoners be his guards for a change. Wonder if he'd still be for waterboarding and other international crimes of torture?

.........to go after the Bush crime family, the only way to hurt him, apart from a possible lone gunman, is to drill it into his imbecilic head that he is a total, complete failure, not only at being "president," but at everything he's ever done. Maybe have a skywriter write, BUSH, YOU ARE A WORTHLESS STUPID FUCKUP AND EVERYONE KNOWS IT.
