Shock Jock Michael Savage's Big Gay Apocalypse

I have this theory that Michael Savage's primary purpose in life is to make Rush Limbaugh look tolerant and sane. Here, let me show you what I mean:

Well, socially, we're far worse -- more degenerate than Weimar Germany. At least in Weimar Germany, men couldn't marry men and women couldn't marry women. So we're probably 10 leagues below the degeneracy that brought about Hitler. We're probably 50 leagues below the degeneracy that brought about Hitler. We are the sickest, most disgusting country on the earth, and we are... psychotic as a nation.

It's a psychotic nation when the attorney general of the state of California, when the senator from the state of California named Dianne Feinstein, when the governor from the state of California who posed as a strongman gets up there and says that homosexuals have a right to marry that's equal to a man and a woman, they're insane. They are fundamentally insane.

Got that? The fact that there was opposition to Prop 8, that there are actually people who -- gasp -- believe that gay people should have the same right as everyone else, means that we are the most degenerate country in the world, and that the moral backlash from righteous people like Michael Savage will almost certainly lead to the second coming of Adolf Hitler. Awesome.

In fact, gay marriage is so terrible that it's actually the single biggest problem that America has, and all our other problems are merely a symptom of our horrific amoral gay tolerance:

[Y]ou may say, "Why should we care about homosexuals trying to destroy families through the mock marriage that they perform in order to mock God, the church, the family, children, the fetus, the DNA of the human species? Why should we care about it while we have a financial meltdown?" Because the spiritual side of the downturn on Wall Street is directly related to the moral downturn in the United States of America. (...)

[T]he government has no right to force people to accept homosexual marriage. It is why the West is dying. It is why we're melting down as a nation.

So that's the root cause! And all this time I thought it was the Bush administration and its enablers' total disrespect for human decency and the rule of law! I am so glad there are superior intellects like Michael Savage around to set me straight and remind me what's really important.

I live in Victoria, B.C. and therefore can hear a radio station from the U.S. that carries programs by Rush Limbaugh and his ilk. Their ignorance and hatred constantly amaze me. That said, I do understand their agendas. Keep the masses uninformed about the REAL problems of America and even of the rest of the world, and you have created the perfect conformist society that won't rock the boat and perhaps tip out the fascists who really control your country. Peace.

Isn't Weiner the shock jock who has a picture of himself being NAKED with Alan Ginsburg?

Maybe he is right, in a way. But maybe it isn't gays in general that will bring about Hitler. Maybe it's a particular gay named Michael Weiner who will bring about Adolf Hitler! I know he has been trying.

We could give him a coffee and a nice bit of pastry mit schlag and ask him once and for all if he'd sign off on any of the effing hooey that gets hurled around in his name from both sides of every place with an aisle.

Sure, he killed his country's gay folks as well as the others he felt were undeserving of life, but he's been dead and able to talk to the good and the bad--Albert Einstein, Albert Schweitzer, Mark Twain, Molly Ivins, Aleister Crowley, Josef Stalin, Groucho Marx, all the people he put to death, their families and friends--for sixty years or so, and maybe he's been able to transform himself and realize the tragedy that his life was for the world. I like to think that's the case. And it would so put paid to assholes who like to use him to illustrate their bankrupt points.

But maybe old Adolf is unrepentant. If that's so, then this radio dude, the people who pay him, the people who sponsor him and all his happy listeners should be made to line up, and at least shake Adolf's moldering, green hand for all the mileage they've got out of his black, black memory.

Where is the whining right with regards to this. I remember them screaming blue bloody murder when Rev. Wright was doing a far lighter version of this kind of America bashing. And ironically it was Savage who was screaming the loudest. I guess it is more of do what I say and not what I do!

"We're probably 50 leagues below the degeneracy that brought about Hitler. We are the sickest, most disgusting country on the earth, and we are... psychotic as a nation."

That quote makes Rev. Wright sound like a downright America hugging peace loving SOB.

But what do we hear from the right about the Weiner. Crickets and the rustling of grass in the wind!

Michael Savage today's most moronic hypocritical American hater in the worldddddddd......

Funny how One election can derail the Repugs 'patriotism'.
Should we can them the 'Fair Weather Patriots', or Just be Frank and call them 'UnAmerican'. What part of 'all men are created equal with inalienable rights' baffles him? what part of 'Life Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness' befuddles his logic?
I have listened for nearly the last 30 yrs as the 'right' defines Patriotism, and Faith. I Have spent 3 decades being considered a 'Traitor' and a "Heretic"...I will enjoy a bit of Turnabout.
Here's my current stance, If you disapprove of the Rights & Freedoms Our Founding Documents and The Bill Of Rights provide...Move to the Middle East, They don't have as many to upset your desire for self imposed oppression.
If you think God is targeting the US for His first act of vengence, then too...Leave. Once the Shit hits the fan you may be stuck with the rest of US in your deluded 'End of Days' scenario.
the only thing different between the Radical Extremist 'Muslims' and their 'Chrisitan' cousins is the Scared Cow they Worship.
Both have used terrorist Acts to make them selves 'relevant'...WTC, Pentagon, and Now Mumbia vs Womens health clinics,MD Assasinations, and The Atlanta Olympics.Didn't Randolf have a network which allowed him to escape capture for years Too?
If Michael wants to talk Hitler and Nazi's with any real Relevance he should be comparing the 'Christian Right'....which is What Hilter Was. The Pot calling the Kettle Black- not a feat of linear logic is required for that comparative analysis. Honestly they are also akin to the Taliban and AQ.
His logic is obviously flawed and his Motives highly questionable

Let's see. Racist, sexist discriminatory or hateful language are quite subjective and discriminatory in and of itself.
Usually when I disagree with a liberal it winds up in a personal attack and allegations of "hate speech."
Don't you love the takeing of Christ out of Christmas and prohibition of prayer in schools and replacing it with homo studies. Chicago wants a homo High School on the taxpayers dime.
Take it to the ballot box and you lose. But then democracy gets subverted with legislation by courts.
Savage is correct but then that's hateful I guess.

Certainly one of the very first tests of the new guys on the block will be what is to be done about the never ending embargo/blockade of Cuba. The UN General Assembly voted recently for the 17th time to urge the USA to terminate the totally absurd embargo. 182 countries voted against the USA position and 2 (lap dog Israel and the great nation of Palau) backed the USA. The 182 included ALL of Bush's puppets and puppy dogs. One after another spokespersons arose to denounce the ridiculous and awfully strange USA almost 50 year old position. I have noticed quite a few posts recently from Canadians. It might be noted that an average of almost two thousand Canadians travel to Cuba EVERY single day. Canada has so very many working agreements with Cuba and trades so many products with Cuba. I have noticed that there have been certain references to the LOONY. The LOONY would certainly very best describe the Canadian (and those from just about every country on the planet's) attitude to the USA-Cuban impasse.

Savage also yells psychiatric slurs

Apparently, use of psychiatric slurs goes from right-to-left as well as left-to-right (probably more the former way.) Also, it's now very hard to argue that these slurs really refer to people W/hateful or outlandish political ideas and that they are never used against victims/survivors of mental illness.
Some people may make knee-jerk cries of
"political correctness" or "hypersensitivity" against my words here, but psychiatric slurs target a lot of [verbal] non-combatants who often agree W/Alternet participants on social/political issues..

social mores

Homosexuality is not a choice. It is of genetic or hormonal origins and the person who is gay is normal but a minority in society. Obviously homosexuality is problematic when procreation is the purpose of all life, however it seems as if the number of homosexuals stays about the same as a percentage of all of society. Once you realize that the person who is gay doesn't have a choice then your support for their ability to enjoy all of the rights the rest of society has should follow automatically. In other words for some reason a mistaken view of morality has gotten mixed up in this matter. Homosexuality is not immoral, it is normal in society and it is time that society understands that. The day should come when if a person tells you they are gay, it will be the same as if they told you they have blue eyes instead of brown.

"We are the sickest, most disgusting country on the earth, and we are... psychotic as a nation."

This sounds somewhere between blatant self-loathing and rabble rousing. As far as I'm concerned, this is getting very close (again) to inciting violence.

There is NO valid historical comparison between Weimar Germany and the US. IMHO, he is subtly trying to make a connection between the two, because he is positioning the LGBT community as the next Jews to be "dealt with" to make his conservative society "perfect."

Someone needs to pull the plug on these idiots before one of their deranged followers starts killing people. Of course, it won't be Savage's or Rush's fault...

Savage is a fraud, a coward, and a creep. How else to explain his chicken-shit scape-goating of minorities.

I disagree with the thesis that his job is to make Rush look respectable. I think the poor dupes who are influenced by Mr. Savage are so far beyond the pale in terms of IQ that they all reside in the third standard deviation below the mean; they are not a political force and their very existence is meaningless, except in-so-far as they can be dangerous to their immediate families and neighbors. Like a den of snakes, they will bite if stirred up.

And of course when they do bite, the cowardly shock jocks like Mr. Savage always feign innocence. Savage knows in his slimy heart that demagoguery is evil but he can't help himself. He's a typical conservative moral pervert.

Right-Wing Talk-Radio "Shock Jocks" Are Only Preaching to a Shrinking Choir
Posted by: SkeeterVT1 on Nov 27, 2008 11:50 PM
Current rating: 5    [1 = poor; 5 = excellent]
Radio is a business. Obviously, commercial radio is out to make money, and the only way they can make money is to have programs that score big in the Arbitron ratings.

Well, guess what? According to the Pew Research Center on the People and the Press, only 17 percent of American radio listeners listen to talk radio -- and the vast majority of talk-radio listeners are white, middle-aged conservative Republican males (With all due respect to the progressive Air America network, it will never be a moneymaker, for after five years, it's still trying to reach an audience that simply doesn't listen to commercial talk radio -- and won't).

Rush Limbaugh, the No. 1 right-wing talk-radio host, whose show is carried on 660 stations naitonwide, has an average weekly audience of 20 million listeners. But Limbaugh's audience pales in comparison to that of National Public Radio -- which will never be accused of being conservative.

NPR's two most popular programs, "Morning Edition" and "All Things Considered," each draws up to 32 million listeners a week, according to Pew. And NPR is a noncommercial network that's not even included in the Arbitron ratings!

Moreover, more than 95 percent of talk-radio stations are on he AM band, but more than 80 percent of Americans listen to FM radio, mostly for music.

So if you really concerned about the influence of Michael Savage, Rush Limbaugh and other right-wing radio talk-show hosts, consider this fact: They're essentially preaching to the choir, the GOP's shrinking voter base. This election proved beyond doubt that the influence of these right-wing "shock jocks" has been way overblown.

The more bonkers these right-wing jocks get, the more likely they'll cause more listeners to tune them out, until only their most hard-core, unchangable fans will keep listening.

Start support groups -- Talk-Show Listeners Anonymous or something to that effect. The more we can convince people to tune these loudmouths out -- driving down their Arbitron ratings (which set advertising rates, commercial radio's bread and butter) -- the sooner we'll see they day that stations start dropping their shows in favor of new programming that will draw more listeners.

First Liberalisim creates separate and unequal protection under the law by hate crime legislation for the homo and other minority votes when 90% of violent crime is perpetrated by black on black. Great for votes and dumb law.
Then the cops have to look the other way when homo's are doing their thing in rest areas and on walking trails. The solution then becomes closing the trails and rest areas because we don't want to be accused of offending the homo.
As I am somewhat offended by overt Christianity so I am offended by public homsexual expression. At least give both equal treatment in the schools.
Savage exaggerates to make a good point.
