Apparently W. and Laura are fans of early voting.

The AP reports that the President and First Lady Laura Bush took advantage of Texas’s early voting procedures and cast their ballots for the McCain-Palin ticket. Bush plans to spend election night at the White House.

He probably forgot he can't have another term (thank God!) and voted for himself. Or maybe he's pi$$ed that McCain ignored him, so he voted for Obama :)

unverifiable voting = wishful thinking democracy

If he voted on the same machines and software as we did a few counties to the south, there is no way of verifying whether what went in is what will come out. Although you review your choices on a screen before you finally confirm and submit your vote, there is no paper printout confirmation of your vote to be placed into a ballot box in case anything happens to the digital storage - like a sudden power surge or a large electromagnetic field wiping the memory clean. So who knows what we really voted on here in Texas? One thing is clear - we need simple, transparent, voting technology and fair, transparent vote counting. And we need it before the next national election.
