Enough With the Spartacus-With-a-Plunger Already

They're just wingnuts who would be enthusiastically destroying 'Joe the Plumber' and howling for blood if he was an Obama supporter.

You are NOT Joe. You're just wingnuts who would be enthusiastically destroying this guy and howling for blood if he was an Obama supporter. At least have the common decency to admit it.

First, a pre-emptive apology for the intentional non-humor to follow. I promise that all future non-humor will be strictly unintentional.

We've all witnessed a lot of insanity in American politics over the last few years. Up until the last few days, none of it has seriously bothered me; hey, just more grist for the satire mill. But after witnessing the media's blitzkreig on Joe 'the Plumber' Wurzelbacher, I can only muster anger, and no small amount of fear.

Politicians -- Sarah Palin, Bill Clinton, et al. --  obviously have to put up with some rude, nasty shit, but it's  right there in the jobs description. Joe the Plumber is different. He was a guy tossing a football with his kid in the front yard of his $125,000 house when a politician picked him out as a prop for a 30 second newsbite for the cable news cameras. Joe simply had the temerity to speak truth (or, if you prefer, an uninformed opinion) to power, for which the politico-media axis apparently determined that he must be humiliated, harassed, smashed, destroyed. The viciousness and glee with which they set about the task ought to concern anyone who still cares about citizen participation, and freedom of speech, and all that old crap they taught in Civics class before politics turned into Narrative Deathrace 3000, and Web 2.0 turned into Berlin 1932.0.

Godwin's Law! you say? if the jackboot fits, wear it.

Of course, blaming that cheating old coot John McCain for bringing him up, repeatedly, and without having vetted him or without bothering to have found out if the man was a lying, no-tax-paying member of Natural Law Party is something the wingnuts cannot fathom.

No one wants to see the guy destroyed, and that is certainly not condoned here. But it's a little like watching a fox come out of the henhouse, covered in blood and feathers, and decry the violence done to the chicken who was watching out for him so he could finish off the hens.

Here's what actually happened, though:

Obama came to my neighborhood and my son and I were outside tossing the football, and all of a sudden he showed up, and there went our football tossing for a while. And, you know, neighbors were outside asking him questions, and I didn't think they were asking him tough enough questions, so I thought, you know, I'll go over there. You know, I've always wanted to ask one of these guys a question and really corner them and get them to answer a question of--for once instead of tap dancing around it. And unfortunately I asked the question but I still got a tap dance. Do you--almost as good as Sammy Davis Jr.

Obama didn't "use him as a prop." Wurzelbacher started it, in his own words. And he tried to make a mockery out of Obama--well, how'd that work out for ya, Joe?

And you'll have to pardon the fuck out of us for not shedding any tears for Joe:

Yesterday, TrueMajorityAction released an ad of 2-year old Bethany Wilkerson, who was born with a serious heart problem and received health insurance through the SCHIP program. Today, the Wilkerson family will appear with lawmakers on Capitol Hill to rally support for increased funding of the SCHIP program.

Like the Frost family, the Wilkerson family has already become the subject of right-wing attacks. Michelle Malkin - whose baseless smear campaign against 12-year old Graeme Frost was deemed too bogus for even Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) - is now trying to rally the right against Bethany.

Heralding the arrival of a "new toddler-aged human shield," Malkin writes that "the Wilkersons made a choice" - a seeming reference to the fact that Malkin now believes she has the license to attack the Wilkersons for their public support of SCHIP. "We need more 'partisan bickering,' not less," added Malkin.

Who are the totalitarians again? I missed that...

Back Up...
Joe Approached Sen Obama and Knowing he was already a Repug, I have no doubt his balls were too big for his britches when he Walked up to him. Probably even put on his Cowboy Wannabe Swagger.
Shit I 'Know 'this Guy, he lives down the street, he hangs out at my neighborhood bar, he approaches me at the Auto parts store (Lil' Lady).
I Know 'Joe' he's the asshole who thinks just because he put a SkiDo on Credit, He's Better than Me. He thinks everyone in the Bar needs to be 'enlightened' about "patriotism"or How the World Works. Hates 'Entitlement' programs, but gets Unemployement every winter because works slowed down.
I Know 'Joe' he is one of those Guys who hates his life, and only feels better when he is Standing on top of some elses shoulder to peer over the fence to see the 'Promised land'.
Who are the Worst Offenders in class 'Warfare' Those who are just one notch above the lowest ranked. Funny That these 'Joes ' are so consumed with 'Class' Status they fail to recognize the numbers of Econoomic Classes are dwindling to TWO, and he ain't gonna be the Top when that happens.
So Joe's Venture Out to address Sen Obama was the 'Emperor with NO Clothes'.

In Trouble Because

Joe is in trouble because he LIED about his income and his ability to buy the business he worked for . I saw the clip where Obama was talking with him and Obama was quite good in explaining HIS tax plan which would have helped the REAL Joe as opposed to the Delusional Joe . It was McCain who brought up Joe in the Debates NOT Obama . So if anyone is to blame for Joe's plight it would be McCain and of course Joe for pretending to be something he was NOT . Did the RNC put Joe up to this Stunt ? I don't KNOW but it certainly is a possiblity .
Sadly Joe is the PERFECT example of those voters who vote against their OWN interests

When he is unwilling to be educated?
It's one thing to have opinions, but to have such a poor grasp of the facts?

Joe the plumber was a plant....

Joe the plumber was most certainly a "Repug" plant, that backfired badly! Obama Knew this guy was a plant...in the video, "I know your not going to vote for me, but I wanted to explain my Tax policy to you..."
When this You Tube showed up along with info that Joe the plumber didn't make nearly enough $$ to buy ANY business, was not even licensed, GOP starts whining AGAIN!!! Now just who, destroyed POOR Joe??? McCain mentioned him HOW many times during the debate? It blew up in their faces....so they play the "blame game"!
I will be so glad when M/P loses on Nov 4 and we can stop hearing all this BS from them. Palin can go back to Alaska to face the music...ie: Troopergate, housegate, dairygate pos. recall...and whatever else springs out of her closet and McCain? He will have to deal with Cindi the awful and melanoma...

I am shutting off my TV until the 4th of November so I will not have to hear any more McCain/Palin bull....! I realized this morning that I cannot bear to see the McGrin or the McAnger even one more time. My patience is gone and I am on the brink of really nasty words, so until Nov. 5th, I will be tuned out. VOTE OBAMA/BIDEN november 4th.

Sammy-Joe is as much Scammer as Plumber

First, consider Sammy-Joe (Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher):

He's ready with a well-rehearsed fiction about "...getting ready to buy a company that makes $250,000 to $280,000 a year."
He keeps it simple, and throws in the tag line: "Your new tax plan is going to tax me more, isn't it?"

That's all incredibly smooth (watch the video), as if someone had prepped him. The moment I saw him I thought of Jeff Gannon, the Bushite plant in the White House Press Corps.

When Obama pointed out that Sammy-Joe's prospects from 15 years of work would have been much brighter under an Obama Tax Plan, than under the Bush/McCain Wealthy-Fare GiveAway, Sammy-Joe concedes the point.
Nonetheless, Sammy-Joe later tells Katie Couric "I do like [McCain's] health care and I do like...where [McCain] stands on taxes."

Sounds like the Cons found a reliable "everyman" impersonater. I wonder what deal was made to pay those back taxes...perhaps get him a $250,000 loan at a great rate? Nahhhh...I'm sure those things never happen....

Certainly the only way Sammy-Joe can now get a loan to buy a $250,000 business would be to find a wealthy benefactor. Huge numbers of well-qualified borrowers will be denied much lower loans unless someone can change our system enough to restore confidence. There is only one ethos responsible for the mess: The Greed Culture's lust to own more, more, more.

We all know the identities of the Greed Culture's enablers: Wall Street Snake-oil salesmen, lobbyists for the elite-greedy, and Cons in both parties. Let us not forget the enablers-in-chief, especially the two Pretend Presidents (Ronnie & Boy-Bush) who surrounded themselves with fake public servants. Those so-called public servants were actually corporate execs and lobbyists paid with taxpayer dollars to advance the privatization (translation: profit-ization with socialized risk) of our government. For some reason, Sammy-Joe wants those times to continue.
