Russian President Dmitri Medvedev today said he agreed to a cease-fire in Georgia, discrediting many neoconservatives who were predicting war with Russia. On his radio show this afternoon, however, Bill O'Reilly still claimed that "World War III" is "on the horizon":

But the message is sent: I, Vladimir Putin, and Russia can do whatever we want to do, and you can't stop us because we have the oil. Now, its the same thing with Iran. Who props up Iran? Russia. Why? Because Russia wants the United States weakened. And Russia knows that Iran wants to dominate the oil in the Gulf. So Russia sells Iran weapons, blocks any sanctions against them, and he's playing the double game. Putin is a real villain. Now, this is World War III on the horizon, ladies and gentlemen.

"It's not actually true that the 'lessons of Munich' are applicable to every single event in the world," notes Matt Yglesias.

that's because they can all sit home and watch it on their big screen hi-def TVs and be all "rah-rah" over it; after all, THEIR kids are safe at college. Wait until we get in a REAL war with a REAL enemy and the draft is reinstated and their kids have to go to this REAL war. We'll see how godda*n patriotic they are THEN. Fighting the repubs over their absurd, dangerous policies will be the least of our worries, as their policies will CAUSE the war we will be in but instead of playing the blame game there will be much more urgent issues at hand, thanks to them...

Billo . . . I really hope you're the first civilian to be . . . well . . . lets just say I hope you're the first one.

Oh . . . I'm sorry Billo. My total disgust for you must be blinding me. Okay . . . so I guess I hope you're the 11th civilian.

....because you're not the fucking president. That post is (illictly) occupied by your hero, the Imbecile-in-Chief, AKA the Texas Turd. But if WW3 does begin, we here all hope that you catch the first H-bomb with your crotch.

O'Riley is an idiot, pure and simple! Why do we continue to report on a third-class hack who knows absolutely nothing of world affairs and is hired by Fox to spew stupidy and insult the intelligence of most Americans. O'Riley's contract with Fox stipulates that he just show up and say any stupid thing that comes into his head. His aptitude test results show that he did get as far as 2 x 2 = 4 and after that he was stumped. Good enough for Fox though.
