CNN Must Drop Dobbs

It's ugly stuff, and CNN can't ignore it forever. The network has a choice. Either attract Latino viewers, or alienate them. It certainly can't do both.

CNN is putting some serious effort into attracting more Latino viewers, and part of this effort can be seen in Soldead O'Brien's Latino in America special.

Yet if CNN is serious about attracting a broader Latino audience, then it needs to do something about the anti-Latino bigot polluting its programming lineup. The folks at BastaDobbs.com (a project of Color of Change), have put together this fantastic primer on Lou Dobbs and his hatred for Latinos (video to the right)

While visiting Mexico several years ago, some locals, seeing my son-in-law came over for some conversation in Spanish. Imagine their surprise when my blonde-haired, grey-eyed daughter had to translate for him. This is illustrative of why stereotypes are so often wrong and HARMFUL to all concerned. Lou Dobbs seems to have been caught up in the mindless fear, spawned by ignorance of the big picture and should remember that there are good people and bad ones, everywhere on Earth, and in the same proportions as here. By the way, I live in rural Oregon, and there are lots of "illegals" here. I've yet to meet one I didn't LIKE. Take that and stick it in an appropriate place, Mr. Dobbs. WHAT'S WITH THAT? Really goofy stuff. I don't think CNN will keep Dobbs much longer. He and Roger Ailes of the Fascist Noise Network are said to be discussing his move to THAT network, where he belongs. He'll be allowed to be WORSE THAN EVER on that Repiglican Noise Machine, just like Glenn Beck. Is there such a thing as an "F" or "R" chip one can put on the TV to block that joke of a network?
