Not an original title, is it? Yet that is what the journalists and newspapers who report on her should be doing if they are going to publish every stupid, deceitful thing she says, like this:

Palin accuses Obama of pushing Medicare 'death panel'

Gov. Palin blasted Democratic-led health care reform and accused President Obama of backing a "death panel" that would withhold Medicare funds from the elderly and disabled when funding runs short.

From that headline and lead paragraph you'd think Obama was planning on sending everyone over 65 to death camps. At least when we accused Bush of Nazi like tactics he really was doing some of the same things the Nazi's did, like prosecuting an illegal aggressive war which he lied about to sell it to the American Public, torture, and warrantless surveillance, including keeping tabs on antiwar groups composed of Quakers and Vegans, of all people. We had proof for our allegations of wrongdoing but the media still wouldn't cover it half the time, or gave far more coverage to Republican rebuttals devoid of substance than they did to the people coming forward with evidence of crimes. By the way, it isn't just the Anchorage Newspaper that's promoting Palin's lies. Here's the headline ABC News is giving her entry on Facebook:

Palin Says Obama's Health Care Plan Is 'Evil'

And here's her money quote:

"The America I know and love is not one in which my parents or my baby with Down Syndrome will have to stand in front of Obama's 'death panel' so his bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their 'level of productivity in society,' whether they are worthy of health care. Such a system is downright evil," Palin wrote.

Hey, big media. If you are going to give free publicity to these loons at least give a response from a Democrat in your story. I don't care much for Jake Tapper, but at least he does the legwork that should have been done to demonstrate that Palin is full of it when she makes such outrageous and frankly fraudulent claims:

One can question whether there will by necessity be any rationing decisions that will need to come as a part of health care reform (and, in fact, we have) but pictures of government bureaucrats forcing euthanasia upon seniors -- and, now, children with Down syndrome -- because they're not productive members of society are not part of any reasonable debate on the facts of the matter. [...]

Asked specifically what the former governor was referring to when painting a picture of an Obama "death panel" giving her parents or son Trig a thumbs up or down based on their productivity, Palin spokeswoman Meghan Stapleton responded in an email: "From HR3200 p. 425 see 'Advance Care Planning Consultation'."

That's a curious reading of page 425 of the House Democrats' bill, which refers to “advance care planning consultation,” defined as a senior and a medical practitioner discussing “advance care planning, if…the individual involved has not had such a consultation within the last 5 years.”

This includes an “explanation by the practitioner of advance care planning, including key questions and considerations, important steps, and suggested people to talk to,” an “explanation by the practitioner of advance directives, including living wills and durable powers of attorney, and their uses,” and an “explanation by the practitioner of the role and responsibilities of a health care proxy.”

As Tapper notes, Factcheck.org has disputed the Palin camp's claim that this provision of the House bill will lead to "death panels deciding whether you get medical treatment or are cut off from care and forced to be euthanized. Still, this is the headline ABC News gave Tapper's story, even though he essentially debunks Palin's entire confabulated death panel fantasy/lie:

Palin Paints Picture of 'Obama Death Panel' Giving Thumbs Down to Trig

How many people are going to read past that headline before forming their opinion? Far too few. There are no "death panels" in the health care reform bills floating around Congress, so why does that phrase appear in almost every headline about this story? Why not just state the obvious: Palin is lying. Or if you don't have the guts for that, at least say that Palin's is making unfounded and outrageous claims about the Democratic bill for health care reform (if you're going to waste time writing about her Facebook entries at all). Of course, that would take something that most of these media corporations don't want to do: real journalism.

Digg!

MOMMY DEAREST,

For openers, it's customary for a mother to care for her own child, with or without special needs. We don't pop a baby into the world and take off three days later. It simply isn't done. Tens of thousands of parents across the country care for children with all sorts of problems, at the same time they demonstate, run marathons, have bake sales and nag their politicians for some help. Who was caring for your special needs child (back in Alaska) the other night when you were hanging out at Michael's? Something about a book deal. Neither Obama nor the rest of us are trying to deprive your child of the care he needs. I can't say the same for you. ANNA

Better Not to Seek Medical Attention at all, Ah Sarah?
Posted by: Purple Girl on Aug 9, 2009 3:00 AM
Current rating: 5    [1 = poor; 5 = excellent]
Apparently Sarah has no use for medical advice or care anyway.
Her water breaks while carrying a compromised baby- She gives a speech, drives past Hospitals, gets on a 6+ plane ride, drives another hour,Before she ever thinks to see how the baby's faring.Fetal monitor? Ultrasound?
A pertinent question would be to Palin-How long did it take you to seek medical attention with your other 4 kids? Is this her standard disregard for the lifes she carries, or something 'special'just for this one?
Whether a true Down Syndrome baby or one deprived of oxygen, Palin proved she is willing to recklessly endanger her own children for prestige.
How many times did Sarah claim, when she was stepping down as Gov,that she was doing so to care for her Family, esp her special needs son? maybe once through out the entire incoherent ramble? Did she even mention her grandmother responsiblities?Or even helping her daughter now a single parent- Nope not once. Seems Family was the least of Palins concerns as confessed in her 'good-bye' speech.
Why are Family Values an Important aspect of our National leaders/Public Servants- because if they don't give a damn about their own flesh & blood- How could we ever expect them to give a shit about the rest of US?
Sarah, like OctoMom, is nothing more than a narcassist with a functional uterus.

Sarah and most of the critics of Obama's attempt to reform Health Care are willfully Ignorant and will completely disregard anything that does not fit into their world view .No matter how many times Obama says if you like your Health Insurance you get to keep it they continue to spout their lies about being FORCED into Government run Health Care .
The most annoying part of all this is the treatment given these demonstrably false claims which almost never points out that they are NOT TRUE .It is if they feel they must show both sides of a story no matter how untrue one side is. Sort of like taking the point of view that there is equal newsworthiness is those who claim the earth is FLAT as opposed to those who can prove it is round

Hypocrisy Cry Baby

So, let's see. Sarah complains that Obama's healthcare plan would supposedly ration care, and she says that Obama's plan would deny health care to those not productive enough, like her Downs Syndrome child, Trig.

THAT IS BASICALLY THE CASE NOW!!! Thanks to Republicans and the insurance companies!

Republicans, especially Sarah Palin, always accuse the Left of the Republican's own evils.

You know what? If Sarah didn't herself have a Downs syndrome child, she would probably be up in a helicopter shooting Downs syndrome babies from the air! Republicans are as a group sick that way. And Palin is one of the sickest.

I am TIRED, not only of her lies, but of her hypocrisy!

She is proof positive that Americans are STUPID, STUPID, STUPID.

As previous poster put it : Palin should STFU or we should get someone to do it for her.

Reflecting back to the Katie Couric interview when Palin was asked what she read............ it is obviously not the Health Care proposals! Perhaps she reads, but does not comprehend. Why does the media continue to give this woman air time? I'd like to see MSNBC NOT mention Rush, Newt, Palin, Birthers, etc. for just one night.

I can't stand these people.

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich lent credence Sunday to Sarah Palin's claim that the healthcare reform legislation will create "death panels" to judge end-of-life issues.
"Communal standards, historically, is a very dangerous concept," Gingrich said on ABC's "This Week." ...

... I mean, euthanasia? How do they come up with these things?

According to a study by the National Academy of Sciences, around 20,000 Americans die each year because they can't get the healthcare they need. ...
Where do they get these ideas?

... Nataline Sarkisyan, a 17-year-old from Glendale, Calif., died Thursday just a few hours after her insurer, Cigna HealthCare, approved a procedure it had previously described as "too experimental."
..."They have insurance, and there's no reason that the doctors' judgment should be overrided by a bean counter sitting there in an insurance office," Jenkins said. ...

I mean, really.

Tuesday, March 22, 2005 Sun Hudson, a six-month old Texas baby died last week when health care providers at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston, Texas removed his life support system over the objections of his mother. The action was authorized under the 1999 Futile Care Law which was signed into law by then-Gov. George W. Bush.
Under the Texas Futile Care Law, health care workers are allowed to remove expensive life support for terminally ill patients if the patient or family is unable to pay the medical bills. ...

It's like they have some deep well of scarring experience to draw from when making up this bullsh*t, even if it isn't theirs.

I have read the entire health care bill and Palin is telling the truth and you are the one misleading. Rationing is in the bill as the secretary of health can at his or her discreation choose what to allow or withold and there are other such provision. this bill is a death sentance for the elderly and Palin is mearly telling it like it is! You are the one misinforming the public. you cannot defend against us who have read the bill!

A friend of mine, in his fifties, developed an aggressive form of leukaemia last July. He is still alive today after radiotherapy, drug therapy, a bone marrow transplant and long stays in hospital - including a very long period in intensive care.

Cost to him, over and above his national insurance contributions- proportionate to his level of income, not the need to make profit for private corporations - zero.

The same story could be told many times about the state-run National Health Service in the UK. It is not without its faults - but pulling the plug or otherwise denying care for purely financial reasons is not one of them.

Expect to hear a lot more garbage and nonsense spew from the mouth of Ms Palin. The demogogues of the republican Party have at last found a weapon to broadcast any and every slanderous comment that their publicists have crafted to rebut the President's progress and still be able to claim immunity from slander. All that they have to say is that Palin doesn't speak for the party and dismiss her as the nutter of the north. Smarten up Sarah, you have been cast typed and have been hung out dripping wet and if you can't come to that conclusion all by yourself then you are even dumber than the broad assed moose you hunt.

...and we made it so. Our society rewards lying in all kinds of ways. Palin and Limbaugh and the health-care astroturfers are not the disease per se. They are just symptoms of a deeper more insidious disease--a catastrophic systemic obsession with lying.

The media salivates at good juicy contoversies, so lies actually help the media create interesting controversy. If the disease is the love of lies, the cure is a society that refuses to tolerate lies. If the truth does not matter to a society as a whole, then that society is doomed to suffer the chaos of the dark powers that be--powers who thrive on deception.

In other words, unless we act strongly in defense of Truth, our nation is doomed to continue falling victim to the mass-deceptions of the vast bi-partisan Corporatocracy that rules our lives and our truth--and the bleak predatory world of lies which they wish to impose upon us will wreak its ugly havoc. The truth matters. Now more than a minute ago.

Is anyone actually surprised that Sarah Palin didn't know what she was talking about? It's not exactly a sentiment that has gone unnoticed. Let's be frank - Palin isn't exactly a good candidate for President. Not that I have ever had anything against the idea of women in office - far from it, and I welcome the day when a woman is in charge in the White House.
I DO however, have a problem, with THAT woman. I'm sorry, but I know I'm not the only person that thinks Sarah Palin is compellingly mediocre. I know I'm not alone. She comes off as a rank amateur - a dimwit housewife stereotype - and that is NOT what we need in the White House. (I'm not a huge fan of Hillary, either.) "Oh, gosh gee-willigers, that's not what we do in Ala-i-ska." (Accented for effect.)
If she had done even the laziest form of research (that being Wikipedia, that infernally addicting website that sucks time out of my day to satisfy my craving for Information) she would have found that Euthanasia is only legal in 2 states - Washington and Oregon, and since it is not legal in the other 48 states, therefore, cannot be part of the health care plan, in any way, shape or form. Period!
And I think by now, she doesn't have to worry about Trig - she's going to get enough off a book deal that she won't have to work another day in her life. And I'm sick of being compelled to be empathetic towards either a politician or rich person, neither of which I feel sympathetic towards, and especially a dunce like that hack from Alaska.
