How the Government Is Helping Mining Companies Destroy Our Water

And then there were none...The Stream Buffer Zone Rule, the last remaining legal impediment to devastating mountaintop removal coal mining is now just one step away from being abolished, thanks to an Office of Surface Mining decision announced late last week.

On Friday, the Office of Surface Mining (OSM) released its assessment of stream buffer zones - basically giving mining companies the environmental green light to dump mining waste in or near streams.

For years the OSM has failed to enforce the Stream Buffer Zone Rule, which prevents mining within 100 feet of streams, in communities across Appalachia. So instead of enforcing the current law, the OSM decided to just get rid of it - saying this is best possible protection for the environment. In fact, OSM failed even to consider the concept of enforcing the current rule to protect streams and limit the size of mining waste disposal areas in its decision making.  All the alternatives considered involved mining in and around streams.

This decision seems to only aim for expediting mining without regard to environmental damage. And considering how frequently the Sierra Club and others keep finding coal mining companies conducting illegal mining (see Ison Rock, VA; Jellico, TN; and Fish Trap Lake, KY) and releasing unsafe amounts of toxic selenium (see Zeb Mountain, TN; and Hobet and Fola, WV) - you can see how this is just another excuse for these companies to avoid environmental regulations.

There is no doubt that mountaintop removal coal mining is devastating to water quality - one Environmental Protection Agency study found that 93 percent of streams downstream from mountaintop mining waste sites were unfit to support aquatic life.

The Environmental Protection Agency is now the only one standing between the mining companies and our waters. The Stream Buffer Zone cannot be repealed without EPA approval. A poll released today shows that two out of three people opposed repealing the rule, so contact the EPA today and demand that they to side with the American public.

Coal contains every natural element.

Coal is almost pure carbon, except for the URANIUM, ARSENIC, LEAD,
MERCURY, Antimony, Cobalt, Nickel, Copper, Selenium, Barium, Fluorine,
Silver, Beryllium, Iron, Sulfur, Boron, Titanium, Cadmium, Magnesium,
Calcium, Manganese, Vanadium, Chlorine, Aluminum, Chromium, Molybdenum
and Zinc that are coal's impurities. Coal smoke and cinders are commercially
viable ORE for the above elements. Coal also contains organic hydrocarbons.
Chinese industrial grade coal is sometimes stolen by peasants for cooking. The
result is that the whole family dies of arsenic poisoning because Chinese
industrial grade coal contains large amounts of arsenic. Coal varies a lot.
You have to analyze it not only mine by mine but even lump by lump.

The truth is, all natural rocks contain most natural elements. Coal is a rock.
The average concentration of uranium in coal is 1 or 2 parts per million. Illinois
coal contains up to 103 parts per million uranium. A 1000 million watt coal
fired power plant burns 4 million tons of coal each year. If you multiply 4
million tons by 1 part per million, you get 4 tons of uranium. Most of that is
U238. About .7% is U235. 4 tons = 8000 pounds. 8000 pounds times .7% =
56 pounds of U235. An average 1000 million watt coal fired power plant puts
out 56 to 112 pounds of U235 every year. There are only 2 places the uranium
can go: Up the stack or into the cinders.
Since a reactor full fuel load is around 11 tons of 2% U235 and 98% U238, and
one load lasts about 10 years, and what one coal fired power plant puts into the
air and cinders fully fuels a nuclear power plant.
Compare 4 Million tons per year with 1.1 tons per year. 1.1 divided by 4 Million
= 2.75 E -7 = .000000275 =.0000275%. Remember that only 2% of that is
U235. The nuclear power plant needs ~44 pounds of U235 per year. The coal
fired power plant burns coal by the trainload. The nuclear power plant consumes
U235 in such small quantities yearly that you could carry that much weight in a
briefcase.

Coal is a $100 Billion per year industry in the US alone. That is why stopping
coal is going to be difficult.

Use every means available to stop coal.

because Global Warming
can lead to Hydrogen Sulfide gas coming out of the oceans.

Hydrogen Sulfide gas will Kill all people. Homo Sap will go

These articles agree with the first 2. They all say 6 degrees C or
1000 parts per million CO2 is the extinction point.

The global warming is already 1.3 degree Farenheit. 11 degrees
Farenheit is about 6 degrees Celsius. The book "Six Degrees" by
Mark Lynas agrees. If the global warming is 6 degrees
centigrade, we humans go extinct. See:

Paleontologist discusses mass extinctions of the past and the one
we are doing to ourselves.

OIL SHALE, TAR SANDS AND COAL MUST BE LEFT IN
THE GROUND TO AVOID THE EXTINCTION OF US
HUMANS.
We have to convert to plug-in hybrid cars so that electricity made
by low-CO2 methods powers most of our driving. Nuclear power
produces the least CO2 of ANY source of electricity.
32 countries have nuclear power plants. Only 9 have the bomb.
The top 4 producers of CO2 all have nuclear power plants, coal
fired power plants and nuclear bombs. They are the USA, China,
India and Russia. Reducing CO2 production by 90% by 2050
requires drastic action in the USA, China, India and Russia.
Coal, oil shale and tar sands must be left untouched in the ground.

I have no connection to the nuclear power industry.

Any where an Individual Lives, where Coal is Mined, is fuffering...ill health, too...

In Haskell County, Oklahoma,... young females,
who live in an area...where Coal is Mined...are suffering More Miscarriages, than
any other area in the County...
And also, the Individuals, who have Joined the Military, persons who have lived / worked in or near Coal Mining...ARE MORE LIKELY TO DEVELOP "SEVERE PTSD"... than some others, who are not / have not been sub-jected to Exposure to Natural Resources, which contain a typeo of substance which Acts as a Magnet type, to "Draw more Toxicity into the Human Body"...
than is normal range for being there.
Soldiers who served in the U.S. Military during WWI & WWII, many of them, Contracted Radiation & other Toxic Substances, into their Bodies...& THESE TYPE OF SUBSTANCES OF TOXICITY... BECOMES "TRANSMITTABLE INTO THE SUCCEEDING GENERATIONS...FROM THE MILITARY SOLDIERS"...causing the Offspring to have Birth Defects / Birth Diseases & Developmental Impairments - Disabilities."
There is a Paper Trail of Proof.
I discovered the Most Rarest Medical Case, of which the Ancestory of that family is of Native Choctaw Indian / Black Ancestory...&
came from Ancestors, of Haskell County, Oklahoma... from the Coal Mine area...south of
the Arkansas River.
The Military Veteran is deceased who worked in
that coal mine before WWII, & then, in the 1960's "fathered children...all 3 male children.. whose bodies, did / has contained Heavy Metal of Toxicity... including Radiation.
One son, died at age 44...another one is age 43
& the vital organs of his body have Degenerated... both sons "fathered children"...& the males have a Higher Toxicity than the females... & 6 of the Children, are of Minor Age, the youngest one, being about age 10... attending a Public School, in the State of Oklahoma.
These individuals, are suffering Profuric Seizures... & the one son, age 43... suffered these type of seizures, since birth...& a public school, "forced him, to go without an education...by denying him an education, by the time he was in the 7th / 8th grade"...the
school in an adjoining state from Oklahoma, refused to allow both those boys to continue to attend school.
In their early adulthood, they could be found "passed out, in a ditch"... & people thought they had become drunkened... & for years one of them wore a bracelet...which said,
"if you find me, & think me dead, I'm not, get me to a doctor".
(It is for real, that an agency has offered a huge monetary settlement... agency connected to military / veteran services...but the family has Not Decided to Make any type of Settlement).
This is Not the Only Medical Case, connected to the Toxicity, Absorbed by Military Soldiers,
but it is the Rarest One, connected to a Soldier who served in WWII.
(It was also found, that one of these boys was a Blood Donor...for a whole year, too... in 2002... in the State of Oklahoma).
The Toxicity, is found, in the Blood of these Individuals, too.
The Oldest person of this family, the male who is age 43, has severe degeneration to his vital organs...including diabetis / heart problems...etc.
A doctor actually, tried to & did "inject this person, with Nucleur Dye...causing the male, to be At-Risk, for death & he had to be transferred from that hospital...in the middle of a medical test... moved to another hospital for Emergency Heart Surgery... in order to save his life."
It's good that someone is "bringing forth the truth, about the Toxicity of Coal / Mining of
Coal"... it is One Natural Resource that has
been Destroying Our People....a Whole Generation at a time...

Persons who enjoy a hobby of Family Ancestory Research, should take this seriously...

& pay attention to the signs / information, within the documents... which they are finding in connection to their Ancestory History.
There are details there, which can provide proof of genetic ancestory Medical History.
George Washington's brother, Lawrence Washington was ill... George Washington took care of his brother, then Developed Smallpox, which "made him Sterile...unable to Father Children"... so the American People, became His Family... he did all he could to assure
a Constitutional Government & Bill of Rights,
for Protection of the Health & Life of the
Succeeding Generations, from those people who lived during the years of the 13-Colonies.
U.S. Government Leaders... have deviated from
the Originality of the Constitutional Laws...
to ammend them, to fit the times & the issues,
which these ammendments, don't always protect the Rights of the People.
Our World is Declining...on a downhill slide..
& our people are overrun / overwhelmed with
Ill-Health.
Production of Natural Resources, is destroying us... at a rapid speed.
I am a victim of genetics, which was transmitted from ancestors...who are Military Soldiers / Veterans, serving in wars, since
Before the Revolutionary War.
The Founding Fathers, knew what war could do to the human race...& George Washington, KNEW IT FIRST HAND...a devastating blow to his life, for sure.
(George Washington DID NOT cut down a Cherry Tree, with an Axe... he lost his ability to
produce succeeding generations, from him).
The Montague Family Ancestory is from where
he descends...& from the Ball Family too.).
I am descended from the Montague / Latane /
Kuykendall / Pickett / Wright /West / Boone /
Cardwell / Collier / Cole / Woodson / Lackey /
Copeland - Coplen / Jones / Davis / Hardcastle / Campbell / Henderson / Green /
Dalton / Allen / Modglin / Burns / Guice (these women of the Guice family..were the wives of the King James's of Scotland & England).
Our Ancestory History is / should be an important part of Our Lives...if we become interested Enough to Research it...& there's much Native Indian Ancestory there, if you but
search for it.
I am part Cherokee / Choctaw...dominantly white though... have a Roll Number... but don't / can't get a CDIB card, yet.

the email address at the EPA is:
johnson.stephen@epa.gov
and he is the person to whom one may ask what we can do to protect the streams, the headwaters of our watersheds.

There are many many sites online like ilovemountains.org and appvoices.org and coalblock.org and www.ran.org, and there are groups on facebook and there are bummper stickers that say "Coal is OVER", and there is a MOuntain Party with a Governor=Jesse Johnson running man and there is more; There are green job committees putting together teams of people working hard to gather resources, man power, intelligence, and financing to set up the infrastructure of way of life without reliance on COAL.
We have to believe it. We need to support it, to live it, to speak it to breathe it-- we can make the changes and they will be on time and they will be good- I mean GREAT!

Coal is Over- see beyond the Clean Coal LIES
See the Future with a future.
