Fox News: 'McCain's TV Commercials Contain ... Out-Right Lies'

Wait, we're seriously talking about Fox News? The Fox News?

We talked the other day about a surprising Washington Post editorial, which criticized John McCain's demonstrably false claims about Barack Obama's tax policies. Hiatt & Co., hardly a reliably liberal bunch, didn't pull any punches, concluding that "McCain's ads on taxes are just plain false," and noting his campaign's message is peddling a "phony, misleading and at times outright dishonest" line. The Post indirectly noted that candidates shouldn't "outright lie" about each other's policy positions.

How transparent are McCain's bogus claims? Even Fox News has noticed. Consider this report from Major Garrett:

Based on the crowd reaction to recent attacks from Barack Obama and Joe Biden about John McCain's tax policy, the Republican nominee may have something to worry about. [...]

The crowds roar with approval when Obama and Biden describe their plans for a middle class tax cut and boo loudly at statistics showing how McCain's continuation of the Bush tax cuts favor the wealthy. Of course, these are partisan Obama crowds. But it would be unwise for anyone seriously backing McCain to dismiss their full-throated roars for Obama-Biden on an issue that historically has favored the GOP nominee. [...]

Add to this the mounting evidence that McCain's TV commercials assailing Obama's tax policy contain serious distortions, if not out-right lies.

Wait, is that a Fox News report accusing John McCain of blatant dishonesty? Yep, I think it is.

When Fox News is slamming the Republican nominee for lying, you know McCain has gone too far.

lies are what they are good at. Acts of desperation. Fool us once, shame on you.....
I can not say anything good about Faux. Job rates are at an all time low and that speaks louder than the lies.

Faux news is a good name for the official republican party mouthpiece, but I submit that "Pravda" is more appropriate. Pravda is the official communist Party, propaganda rag of the former Soviet Union. Its english translation is Truth, But it never told any. Just like Pravda West ( Fox news )Murdocks, toy, Is the unofficial outlet for dissemination of all the Lies, Half truths & Insinuations that the Administration, & its affiliates find usefull.

Perhaps a birth control company owns stock in Fox

If McCain/Palin were to get in, not only would Roe go, birth control is poised to go, too. So maybe Maybe a major Fox advertiser or something makes birth control pills.

It's sort of a sarcastic thought, but---big pharma has a far reach and spends a lot of $$$ on advertising.

(Why would birth control go? Because the Bushies are trying to push through a rule change that would define any birth control that does not necessarily prevent CONCEPTION as "abortion." Fundamentalist Christians, like Huckabee and Palin, believe we must "protect 'life' from the point of conception." Some forms of birth control may prevent IMPLANTATION of a fertilized egg, which is the MEDICAL definition of pregnancy. So if Bush successfully pushes through this rule change--rule changes do not need congressional approval--and if McCain gets in, the above popular forms of birth control would become illegal as "abortion" once McCain had the chance to replace a liberal Supreme Court judge. Two to three are expected to retire during this presidential term. )

Remember, Fox owner Rupert Murdock is a BIG BUSINESS right winger, not necessarily a fundamentalist Christian as far as I am aware. And if any big business or advertising dollars are threatened, things could all go inside out even at Fox. --whether it is big pharma or something else.

Overt bias has garnered Fox a rather bad rep; an appearance of balance would legitimize it and make it believable, earning more viewers' trust. The bias, however, would be latent but ever-present, and arguably more dangerous.

It would become CNN (Rick Sanchez, anyone?).

Fox belongs to Rupert Murdoch, The Weekly Standard - the organ of the neo-conservatives' The Project for a New American Century belongs to Murdoch. Super neo-con Cheney makes sure all his neo-con place men read it.

Google Murdoch and note all the world-wide media, newspapers etc. he owns including what was the prestigious The Times of London. No one controls the world's information as much as he does - not even the Communist Party of China whos efforts are limited to China!

Don't believe this brilliant determined man even when say, Fox or another of his media appear reasonable, even-handed for once. As soon as his medias' bosses know what the top boss wants they give it the works.

Karl Rove and Rupert Murdoch are well set to win the US presidential elecions - for Senator McCain and Rove's brilliant but so dangerous place-lady Mme Palin .

We in Europe just hope somehow American voters will save their country - as they nearly did when JFK won by a whisker (but was murdered) Now this generation of Americans has to fight that battle all over again - the battle for
American leadership towards a more cooperative less confrontational world.
