McCain's new economic fix-it plan involves paying off the deficit by winning the war in Iraq, drilling for oil that US refineries won't even be able to handle, a gas tax holiday that even conservative economists loath, and tax cuts for Americans who make a quarter-million dollars a year or more.

If you believe this is a fix-it plan Rachel Maddow's got a bridge in Brooklyn that she wants to talk with you about.

Old People and Taxes

I don't understand this compulsion that Republicans and old people have with taxes. Is it because they are so worried about keeping what they got? Let's face it - at that age, they ought to be worried about teaching all us young folks some real life lessons - like not electing bozos, buying every little gadget that comes along, or being nice to others because going to war just sucks. These are the life lessons we can and should be learning from old folks - like McCain - except he's worried about those freaking taxes! Somebody please buy him a clue!
